The three most memorable moments in a video game for you
JINZONINGEN73 replied to AgentRick's topic in Culture & Multimedia
One of the strongest memories, and one that had tears in the corner of my eyes, was when I get up to the end of Klonoa to fight this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=TDPXBTeN3Q8 Only to find out THIS: I kid you not, I leapt up off the couch and yelled, "Oh... oh NO FUCKIN' WAY!!! Oh my GOD!" And then, right before the camera freezes the last time, the little bastard smiles. He SMILES! Twisted, twisted stuff, especially considering there's the loose end that Klonoa had a Grandpa who got killed earlier in the game... who was he anyway? A relative that had come along, or a resident of Huepow's world acting as an imposter? -
Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
JINZONINGEN73 replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Yeah, Sarah Jane Adventures are definitely aimed at a younger audience. I'm happy to say it's no SO embarrassingly condescending that I can't watch it though. (No, that was that last episode of Dr. Who season 4 and the Dalek / pig episode of series 3.) -

Yep. And I bought a few more off Bricklink in other colors so I can make him some friends. He's pretty tiny and not made of many parts. You SHOULD be able to recreate him by zooming in on his pics.

Reminds me also Max Headroom, where it was illegal to turn TV off lol. A haunting moc, but sadly, all too familiar a feeling in these dark times we live in. It's only going to get darker before everything changes. -
Ok Jinzo. No more goddam tweaking it. You'll ruin it. This started out with basically a small, skeletal figure who was just me experimenting with that type of modern ball socket. After sitting around, oh, a YEAR, it just evolved and evolved and evolved. A little off subject, but looking at Tahu inside the pics of the other sets makes me not like him just that much more. Thanks for showing a good pic of the trans dome with Lewa. I might not want to get the whole set, but that one part, in a quantity larger than ONE, could be a very fun thing to play around with.

I wouldn't be suprised if it was a Toa all Turaga-ized... an old mentor / storyteller type character.
-
I forget where I left off, so here's a few I've had that I remember: Macross SDF-1 http://www.majhost.com/gallery/JINZONINGEN...S/sdf1scape.bmp Metal Men Questar (had this one up a loooong time!) http://flickr.com/photos/jinzoningen73/225...57603429924752/ Naked chick Satsuki from X by Clamp http://flickr.com/photos/jinzoningen73/2609369715/ Current one: http://flickr.com/photos/jinzoningen73/2602073242/

Did I miss something here? Where are you getting the colors for the Glatorians from?!? Or is it assumptive reasoning?
-
From a kiddy book. The write-up for it showed up on Amazon. No images yet, just mention of one of them being called "Vastus". I like the clear blue part... but aside from making tiny spaceships when combined with System... I don't have really any ideas yet as for their mocing uses.
-
What evidence? I thought there was just a quick Amazon entry for a kiddy book. Well, it's verification that Mata Nui will probably be bye byes. No Mata Nui, no Matoran.
-
I want to see the land mass that is Mata Nui wake up and walk away with giant <insert that tiresome argument> parts, 9 billion parts in flat silver, SUPER cheesy launcher gimmicks, non-turning waists, canisters and lids with no aaxle or pin connection points and asymmetrical parts. Shoo, SHOO, you big pile of dirt!
-
Yeah, I bought 2 Jallers a few weeks ago, and even though I didn't make the intended model, I noticed mocs look VERY good with 2 of those swords. It's not impressive on it's own, but for some reason two are. Must be that rounded butterfly type edge they have, just one "wing" looks odd. WAIT wait waitaminnit! You had Greg before a roomful of Bionicle fans and not one of them yelled, "IT'S THE FIIINAL COOOOOOUNTDOOOOOOOOWN!" I am ashamed and saddened by this.

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
JINZONINGEN73 replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Ew, really? (Man, I'm not as up on the old series as I thought.) I thought the second Doctor's performance was kind of "bleh" towards the end. Once everyone was safe, they just had him stand there looking as boring and blank-slate as possible. It'd have been nice if he was a bit more witty and happy on the final beach scene. The idea that he WAS the Doctor just wasn't conveyed too well. -
This site is an 18 and over site, so there's going to be cursing. Yes, new members, ones possibly not being honest about their age are going to look dumb. I think the best policy is to decide how long they feel dumb. The answer is of course "as short as possible" lol. If I had more time to be around here always, I could simply edit their post and drop a "cool it" kind of comment. ... ... ...what the hell was I getting at again? Oh yeah, lol. Whenever someone's cursing gets a bit too ff the wall, just either let it be or see if someone's already addressed it. There doesn't need to be multiple posts speaking of the same thing. Likewise, sorry if I'm the person you think is cursing too much. I've always been this way. I recall a toy fair where we had pics, while BZ wasn't allowed to post the images (!) and the only "exclusive" thing Lego gave them for their trouble was... a pile of promotional "SO EXCITING!" text (!!) ... ...for a day or two (!!!). But there are occasions where they get first dibs on things other than pics. Of course, personally, it's ALL about the parts, so set pics and Eurobricks is where I want to be. Just remember, even though "BZ sucks!' pertains to a lot of areas, it has done well for them. You might have as much freedom there as trying to play Dance Dance Revolution inside a cardboard box that a washing machine came in, but you can't deny the sheer amount of feedback due to the sheer amount of members... and that didn't happen by accident or by merely being the first site to dedicate itself to a specific Lego theme. I'm not a great fan of BZ, clearly. But I used to be, before I got whizzed on and realized there was better. It's just like cursing... do it too much and you look foolish. Or rather, simply saying "BZ sucks" and leaving it at that isn't telling anybody new to the deal why you're saying that, it just looks awkward and biased in a non-substantive way. Man, i just ramble on sometimes... Uh, synopsis: --curse, but in moderation --say others are cursing too much only if no one else said it already (if you even have to bother) --BZ has it's purposes in the Lego world --BZ has it's problems, but be able to say why

Weeell, I do remember quite a few years ago an admin telling me that Greg had said something that was totally not true, but man, we're talking years ago and a teeny tiny brain in my head. Of course, it could also be that at that time Greg wasn't thought of as highly and used as a tool of disinformation. Meh, whooo knooows. My Walmart here seems to not be going in any direction indicating new sets are coming in. Shelf tags are still the same, Mahri and Phantoka are still in place with no discounts, no extra room's been made on the shelf... I hope I don't have to wait real long like I've had to with some of the other waves. I don't think they even had the Hordika a week before they vanished. Old sets sat and sat, then were clearanced, Hordika arrived, vanished, then there was nothing for a LONG time. Calm down, you. I've felt burnt here and there by them too in the past, but there's more satisfaction in accurately describing why your opinion goes a certain way than in name-calling. ;) (NOTE: The above works for most arguments in life.) (NOTE: The above only works if you're absolutely right.)

Lol, and their, "Help, my body's going CRAZY!!!" days. I imagine it'll be less than a week when someone cuts those scenes out, puts them to Techno, then uploads to Youtube "Daleks at a Rave". Nope, disgustingly serious. It's a "futuristic comedy". >__< http://www.sylvestermccoy.com/k9adventures/ Feel free to vomit. I won't think any less of you. -
Conspiracy theory: The people in charge of Bionicle had an unnatural love affair with jamming as many silver parts as possible into sets. The line is about to be reformatted, and there was an abundance of silver feet stacked up to the roof of their warehouse. So, slappity-slap-slap. Lewa T9. I'll shut up now... Seriously though, it is pretty damn weird. And non-aesthetic.

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
JINZONINGEN73 replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Yeah, I didn't "mind" the episode, but there was the thick stench of fanboy fanfic silliness in it's writing. Well, here's my takes: --Saw the hand thing/second Doctor coming a mile away. Reason being, they kept chucking that hand into the face of the viewers and the ultimate fanboy excitement (they think) is at least giving Rose a Real Doll version of him to bang silly. --Davros appears to still be around. Wow, what a shock. Emergency temporal shift, I'm sure. --Thought it really silly that Sarah Jane and Micky just walked away from a million Daleks during the most important experiment ever in existence. --Liked the fact that they finally de-cornballed the whole "hidden messages" thing that were here and there in this series and PLAGUED the others. A Dalek who saw they were pretty crappy beings was responsible. I like. --Liked Davros yelling at the Doctor, that he officially blames him for everything. You'd think, "Who gives a flying crap? It's Davros, the evil bastard". But think about it... the clone Doctor went and committed GENOCIDE. Unless he covers his megablocks, the remaining Doctor might have problems with the Shadow Proclamation, based on Davros' civil complaint. (lol) --Didn't mind that Donna didn't "really" die. Getting set back to being a yenta whose biggest joy in life is a new flavor Pringle is satisfactory. --For a stupid moment of retardation, my brain messed up and thought they might show Adric from the old series during the "people you got killed lol" montage. --Thought it funny Pete stayed home to watch the baby while Jackie goes to be a soldier. --Didn't understand why K-9 or Sarah Jane weren't killed instead of Donna... Khan said "his most faithful companion would die"... Donna? What? lol --Thought his screwy regeneration trick probably counted AS a regeneration, and may yet turn out to be so in the future. And imagine, he'll be there on his last one, possibly suprised to be dying or knowingly apologetic to his companion for being so. IT'S OK! The writers still have: -A HALF TIMELORD DAUGHTER WHO DOESN'T DIE -A CAPTAIN DUDE WHO DOESN'T DIE -A GUY BLOWN INTO ATOMS WHO DOESN'T DIE -A HUMAN WALKING AROUND WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR TIMELORDINESS -A BRAINCHILD EARTHLING BOY (who could be the receiver to Donna's pitch, as HIS head could probably deal with the amount of data), Etc, etc, etc... I fear for the new episodes. Every peril's been so titanic since the show returned, that I think all that might be left is even more soap opera stuff like "Will real doctor and Rose hook up?, Ooh, ooh, let's see that daughter again!, Hey, can't wait to see the Doctor fall in love with his DOOMED WIFE." Also, I hear: --Astrid is coming back, locking on to --The Daughter will be back, finding frozen Timelords and hunting down --Sarah Jane Adventures will return, but probably not with K-9, as DISNEY grabbed his rights for a super lame Sony Aibo version of him for a wretched Disney-type show. --Martha is the new Owen. Micky is the new Toshiko. -

Unless your name is Adric, Astrid, Harriet Jones... ...eh... Harriet IS dead, right? I heard a rumor she was seen as a Davros-like torso in a Dalek skirt. (Still dl'ing this episode, curse you lucky Brits!) EDIT: Hahaha, still haven't got it! I've never seen anything like this before... 2,400 people are seeding it while 10,000 are trying to download it! Luckily though, my wife just found a place which has a direct link. : p -
I wouldn't mind that, as long as the skeletons aren't naked. They should ALL be wearing their epaulets, hats, weaponry, etc etc... And dammit, just ONCE before I die I want to see a Lego pirate ship[ done in at LEAST 75% glow in the dark. THEN I might turn into a Lego Pirates buying geek.

JINZONINGEN73 replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Well yeah, the Daleks were about to overtake... ...eh... uh... I want to say "the crucible", but I might be messing up there lol. Anyway, he said he was the one who ended the time war. Remember the Master getting off on feeling what it must have been like for the Doctor to do that to all of them? Yeah, so damn... is Sarah Jane dead? The crazy Dalek tells the truth, and he said the most faithful companion would die? Hell, Sarah Jane's carried on her own crusade, run around with 2 Doctors and met more. As for Torchwood, I'm guessing those two will poop out some crazy, megablocks-saving plot device in the knick of time... or maybe Jack's boyfriend will show up. -
I'm sure he realizes that, rather, now would be a good excuse to "propose" a partnership with Hasbro. Awesome idea, combining cross-interest with things like City and other themes by way of "Space". Imagine a bunch of clear, mushroom-shaped domes raised up on moon crater baseplates... harboring different things like living areas, garden / food supply units, etc... MAN that'd be cool. That's the kind of cool you dream about, then get pissed off when you wake up and realize it wasn't reality.
-
In ways, yes. Realize though that the whole thing with "Rho" has spanned across at least 3 websites (Eurobricks, BZ amd In_the_Bricks). Tempers regarding him are short and he's taking people he's pissed off with him. I wouldn't even bring him up again, except I just wanted to make sure it's over, at least here and on In_the_Bricks. BZ's stuck with him for the moment though. I'm told they've put up with this a year... which is confounding, as their hands are often more heavy. But, the bulletproof vest he was wearing is off and his fate is now in his next actions. We all got problems in life, we're all subject to human duality in our characters... every one of us is ugly SOMEWHERE. It's a cosmic trade-off of sorts and only a handful of humans ever escape it. His "dark" side just happened to manifest itself on Lego messageboards. Who knows, after a personal revelation or two he might all of a sudden "get it" and turn out to be a fine community member in the future. For now... The end. (Okay?) Let's get back to these expensive hunks of plastic we all love so much...
