Wow, the guy who signed your book is really good at drawing Han Solo's blaster, JCC1004! I got my book signed by a stormtrooper by the name of TK3390 (I also took a picture with him): May the Dark Side be with you :) TK3390 And two stickers:

Wow, that sounds great! I can't wait to see the morning post.

Wow, awesome review Svelte! This has really convinced me to get the set for Christmas now. I already asked my mom if I could get it for Christmas later (I went to the LEGO Store today for an event), and I think that I can! The insight about the "R" rated content is hilarious! It's odd how the LEGO photographers would decide to actually do that. The tree is very well-designed, and all of those accessories are amazing! They must take up at least 100 parts by themselves! The bench and lightpost are a great addition to the set, and I really like the huge pile of snowballs. The toy shop looks amazing! The white parts and roof, trees, mini-wreaths, and light make it look very Christmasy. I wonder why the designers put the light brick in the upper room though - wouldn't the chimney be a better place?

Licensed Battle Packs VS. Castle & Pirates ones

Ahh, thanks for pointing that out! I didn't even notice that.I'm guessing that the rocket battle droid commander will be a reverse colored droid. Either that or a nice printed one. Either way, it's a win-win situation! We might either get the parts to make droids that are fully dark orange and fully dark bley, or some printed droid parts.

Licensed Battle Packs VS. Castle & Pirates ones
ILikePi replied to Oky's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Don't forget about Ambush in Cairo and the upcoming Prince of Persia "battle pack." I don't really get it, though. The licensed ones do come with a model and the minfigures themselves, while the non-licensed "battle packs" come only with lower quality minifigures and accessories for about $4 USD more. -
I just got back from the LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary event (read all about it here), and here's what I got: Separatist Shuttle ($30 USD) chrome silver stormtrooper magnet ($10 USD) chrome gold minifigure keychain ($5 USD) firefighter impulse set ($3.50 USD) policeman impulse set ($3.50 USD) I was very surprised when I saw the chrome gold minifig keychains. There were over 20 on the keychain rack (someone took like 15 out after I looked at it the first time ), and they are the exact same ones that were given away with a $75 purchase not too long ago. Now all I need is a chrome gold C-3PO to finish my chrome minifig collection!

Just got back from the LEGO Store in Valley Fair shopping center (Santa Clara, California)! Two stormtroopers, a female Jedi, a female Rebel pilot, and a really cool looking silver and green clone trooper were there. I got a picture taken with one of the stormies, and got an autograph in my Visual Dictionary! I also won a chrome Vader () by answering "Made Windu" on a question. The questions were so easy! However, my chrome Vader is missing some chrome on one of the legs (chrome silver shows through). It doesn't bother me that much though, since it was free. Overall, this was the largest LEGO event that I went to so far, and it was very fun and exciting (answering the question and meeting the 501st members). I got a Separatist Shuttle ($30 USD), chrome gold minifig keychain ($5), the firefighter and police impulse sets ($7 USD), and a chrome silver stormtrooper magnet ($10)! I also got some free things: a poster (will post pics later), two Visual Dictionary stickers (Jango Fett and Celebration Luke), some cards advertising the Clone Wars TV series (Ahsoka, Cad Bane, Embo [bounty hunter], and Sugi [bounty hunter]), a Star Wars: The Clone Wars Republic Heroes advertisement card (comes out 10/6/09), two LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary activity books, and a business card of a 501st member (which someone just left on a table, ). I shall upload all of my pics to Brickshelf soon, and post an overview of the event for all of you to enjoy. http://www.flickr.com/photos/pieisdelicious/3989095168/http://www.flickr.com/photos/pieisdeliciou...in/photostream/

Well, yeah, you can do that stuff, but I still don't like not being able to drive...But of course, I can't complain too much either since LEGO could have just decided to not make a game in the first place.

Great review! Nothing spolied here, since I already read xwingyoda's review of it on BrickHorizon. Man, your review makes me want it even more now... Almost all of those minifigures are ones that I don't have. It's a shame that it probably won't be available to the US, but on the bright side, I'll save $30!

My vote goes to 74louloute's Wagon RER A. I love the use of SNOT for the red parts, and it just captures the shape and details of the original train he used for reference. Great work everyone, and good luck!
-
My favorite was the London Overground. There are just so many SNOT techniques used for the front and the doors! If we had that three point voting, I would have voted for this (two points), the Pancho Villa Raid (one point). Good luck everyone!

Well, I just tried it out, and it's not a game. All you do is just watch your car race against another one.

Looks nice, but I never really liked the Fire vehicles that much. See above... Wow, this looks very nice! I won't be getting it, but I would love to see a review. It looks nice, but I don't think that the price will be $10 USD. It seems like a $6 set.The new hoodie torso looks very nice, though. Hmm, I don't really see anything special in this set. Wow, this is very cool! The price is good, and I really like the inclusion of the green trash can. To get list (so far, based on the current sets only): 3177 Small Car (if the price is $6 USD) 3179 Lighting Repair

Wow, all of those sets sound very nice! I, like darthperson, don't plan on seeing the movies (and I know nothing about PoP), but I'll probably get the two cheapest sets for the ostriches, and since the $11 USD one sounds like a battle pack. Also, I think it's odd how one of the characters is named "Asoka" (looks like someone misspelled Ahsoka).

Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion
ILikePi replied to DarthSion's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I just watched the second episode, and it was great! Cad Bane was as good as ever, but he does look funny without his fedora/big hat. His escape was very crazy, leading the Jedi to a trap and getting away in a escape pod. The Mustafar part was very interesting too, but it's pretty obvious that they would escape unharmed, because nothing bad can happen to Anakin and Ahsoka in the series. It's also easy to tell that Darth Sidious is Palpatine, because of the huge nose and wrinkly chin. -
Wow, that is very cool Svelte! The snow on the tree is a nice addition, and the dark red/white MMV building is just gorgeous! The BrickForge items are a nice touch. All of that white makes the whole scene look very warm and Christmasy! Great work!

Eighteen dollars for less than 20 pieces? That's more than what Duplo sets cost. I thought that this line was going to turn out well, but it doesn't see like it. Kids may like it (and they do look pretty good), but it still is overpriced and not a "construction" set, which is what LEGO is supposed to be. EDIT: Yes, I would too, but Grandpa's RV doesn't exist in Ben 10: Alien Force. But we could have at least gotten Kevin's car, and minifigures like Ben, Gwen, Kevin, and some DNAliens.

Wow, it looks like Amazon USA is going to be the website that will leak all of the set information this year! Sounds great! I think that the Amazon over priced it, though. The battle packs are probably going to be $11 USD. Sounds just like the picture we saw. Again, the price will probably be $11 USD. Hmm, $25 USD for this? I hope not, as it is just one vehicle. I can't wait to see better pictures of the Talz chieftain, though. Ahh, finally a LEGO Star Wars set that isn't overpriced! That price-to-parts ratio is amazing for a lower priced Star Wars set! Doesn't seem that good to me, but I think that LEGO went a little bit overboard on the flick-fire missiles. The price also seems to be a bit off...maybe $40 USD is the acutal price? Only 396 pieces? It seems much larger than that. I won't be getting this (too many good sets next year), but it sounds nice (although we already saw pics of it).I can't wait for non-blurry pictures to come out!

Wow, these Creator sets are looking good! 5687 Super Speedster doesn't look that good to me, but the 4WD alternate model is very nice. 5866 Rotor Rescue's color scheme and design is great! It looks very sleek and modern at the same time. 5891 Apple Tree House is amazing! The dark blue roof ( ), red garage, lawn mower, and basketball hoop are very nice details. And the fact that there are alternate models for all three sets just sets the icing on the cake. I can't decide if I'll get Rotor Rescue and Apple Tree House or not. There's just too many good sets coming out next year!

Hooray, more purple! The "Raid VPR" looks too simple for me, so I won't be getting it. The "Smash 'n' Grab" looks awesome! So many nice purple parts (six purple cheeses!), and that futuristic ATM is very cool. The 2 x 4 medium blue tiles are great, too! I'm not really liking the recolored aliens - new ones would have been much nicer. But it's great to see that LEGO is returning to Blacktron!
-
Wow, this is a very simple, but very cool addition. I especially like the Master Chef reference with the pan (was that intended?). EDIT: Fixed a grammar mistake. D'oh!
-
Wow, these look so well made. Nice work Capt. Kirk (hey, that rhymes! )! The lines on the torso designs look so smooth and nicely drawn, and so do the faces! They quality of them is just like LEGO's (maybe even better)! I especially like the Mad Hatter's face that you made. The Wormtail face used by LEGO looked really ugly IMO. Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to see more of your decals!

Hooray, a review of the Winter Toy Shop by Svelte! I can't wait to read the finished product! And good for you WhiteFang, for making him do the review!
