  1. Does anyone know why these books are even listed right now? They're going to come out in one year. Unless the Pirates and Castle books (edited) were already listed at this time of year in 2008 (which I doubt)? My thoughts are that if it is CW, it will have one normal clone trooper and one normal battle droid. I think that the pieces could make two one manned vehicles and many other alternate builds, like bunkers or towers. If it is OT, I think that it will be the same thing, except that the minifigures will be a rebel trooper and stormtrooper. I will not be getting these, as they are too expensive and I could get something else much better (like Wampa Attack, if it turns out to be real) for $25 USD (not a rant). I just pointed two/three people to the right direction four times. I don't know anything about the new stuff - I'm just an average AFOL who doesn't know how to make good MOCs yet, but instead makes reviews. It should be available in the more well-known book stores (do you have any Borders or Barnes and Nobles in Australia?).
  2. Wow, this is an amazing MOC! I like the idea of making it into a box. The sides are very detailed and Steampunky! The SNOT waters and sand are very cool! The use of different colors makes it good to look at. The boat looks like it's chock-full of many miniature details - interesting addition! The foliage is nicely "randomized" and I love that flag! Great work!
  3. There also seems to be one other difference. According to BrickLink, the original BSB had 876 pieces (minifigs not included), while the re-released edition had 873 pieces (again, not including minifigs).
  4. Great review of a great impulse set that I never knew existed until now! When compared to today's impulse sets, it may not look as good, but it does include one rare piece, something that most impulse sets do not include: a pteranodon, which was only included in five sets, three of which were dark orange! That one piece mold is very cool, and the studs make it even better - you can have your minifig ride on top of it!
  5. I was only 0-1 years old at the time of the Wild West theme, so I am for sure not a Wild West fan. However, the Toy Story set does look very interesting. I like the look of it, but I the only way I can get it is by having it on clearance.
  6. Hey guys, did you see this post that FBTB has made about a BrickCon recap? It includes a link to a photostream with some photos you may or may not have seen. The more interesting Toy Story pictures: The "water" on the wedges and back look great! Enjoy!
  7. Just watched this week's episode (is it episode 3 or 4? The first week had an hour long episode, and I don't know if that acutally counts as one or two ), and it was okay. Nothing really "exciting" happened (for us, of course, but a huge thing happened to the Republic), and it seemed like 30 minutes for this episode was pretty long (well, technically 21 minutes because of commercials ). Lott Dod looked pretty funny compared to other Neimodians like Nute Gunray, and the Senator (I'm not good at memorizing complicated names ) was pretty cool. I liked how he would do anything, even get jailed or killed, to save Padme. I liked all of C-3PO's comments about being unwanted. I can't wait for the next episode!
  8. Actually, my dad is worse. Two years ago when my brother and his friend were making Turkish delight for a project in school, my dad said "No, you're doing it wrong" when he doesn't know how to cook. Thanks for the info though! Okay, thanks for the info! I'm not sure if my mom would want to wake up at 6 AM, though. And also, I am about 20 minutes away from the LEGO Store (which my mom says is too far already), so I can only go once every month (which means that I won't be able to go there to ask the manager). Would calling their store's phone number work? Ahh, that's pretty sucky. They probably do that to make sure that you don't keep going back in line until you get 50% or something. No problem. But does anyone else know what the lines were like last year at say, the afternoon? And how many sets were left? Thanks for helping, everyone!
  9. Brickapolis, my friend on Flickr, has posted a scan of the November 2009 LEGO Store Calendar: Notice that on Black Friday, there will be a scratch card to get 10%, 20%, or 50% off, and you can also have a chance to win a $10, $100, or $500 USD gift card. Unfortunately when I told my mom about this, she just said "NO!" and told me that there's going to be hundreds of people lining up to get into the store. Can anyone confirm if this is true or not? After all, she was wrong in saying that there would be a line for the October 10 event.
  10. Happy birthday posades! I hope that you get a good score on that exam! (Oh boy, getting a good score for your birthday instead of getting LEGO ) Graduate Record Examination
  11. I just finished listening to it - nice interview, Captain Zuloo! I really like the question about the dining car being released as a separate set. Well, I for one would much rather have an Imperial Flagship, Tantive IV, Winter Toy Shop, Medieval Market Village, Republic Dropship with AT-OT Walker, etc. instead of getting the wagon separately released. I can't wait to read the second part! I also can't believe that you would decide to split it into two parts just to annoy us.
  12. All I do is wear a vampire cape (with black jacket, black pants, and red shirt) that I bought on sale for $5 or so. I don't go trick-or-treating, but I still like how you can wear anything you want on this fun yearly event. When I'm older I plan on buying a plastic stormtrooper costume (like the ones that the 501st members wore). The costumes just look so cool! Now that's funny! It's pretty sad how Bob Barker retired, though. The new host isn't as funny or cool. Hmm, maybe I should try that - with pennies instead, of course. Wow, you have so much Halloween spirit pedro! It would be even better if there was one of those $100,000 USD bills (which is worth $1,591,521.20 USD today ):
  13. Wow, great interview guys! Ever since I saw the modular house sets in my LEGO catalogs, I've always wanted to know more about the designer. I also noticed that the theme music has been shortened. Thanks for doing that! I would love to see more of these non-Pirates Behind the Helm interviews in the future (maybe Steen Sig Andersen, the person who designed the Volkswagen Beetle?)! I'm only halfway into the interview, so I'll edit this post/make another one when I'm finished.
  14. Congrats Dragonator! That has to be one of the coolest looking titles so far in the EB staff! The LEGO die (no idea why LEGO refers to one of them as a dice ) goes very well with the stars and the text.
  15. Wow, that sounds very interesting! The Pirates and Castle ones had some very cool mini-models. I can't wait to see what this one turns out to be like! Acutally, they only contain about 140 or so pieces, and exactly two minifigs. I wouldn't count on it. If it is CW, it'll probably just have a clone trooper and battle droid. If it's OT, probably a stormtrooper and Rebel trooper. And the 32 pages are just the instructions. Like I said above, the piece count will be about 140 pieces. It's not on Amazon USA yet, so you'll just have to wait. However, the normal prices for the Pirates and Castle Brickmaster books are $25 USD (currently on sale for $16.49), so I expect that this one will be, too. Wow, four winks in one post!
  16. Nice find! I've been waiting since the game came out to be released on PCs. Now to wait for my library to get it, then I can play it!
  17. Safeway is a large, well-known grocery supermarket chain in the US, and Black Angus is a steak restaurant. No problem!Yeah, the boy in that pic was very excited when I was at the event. He also got a picture, too! Your profile pic is hilarious! You must be one of the main leaders of the Rebel Alliance that weren't mentioned in any Star Wars movies or shows. Thanks! How dare you slack off and look at LEGO-related things at work! You said nice review, so of course I had to say thanks. It seemed like the Dark Side was with that employee! Acutally, I just use those polls to motivate me to do a certain review. I won't be doing what everyone wants the most all of the time. I'm also not going to include it in my later reviews of larger sets. The polls are just for smaller sets (less than $10 USD). Thanks for the comments guys, and thanks for voting for me to finish my 2007 battle packs dual review! It has been in the Reviewer's Academy for over four months, so this is a great motivation for me to finally finish it (and get my precious bronze tag)!
  18. Wow, great pictures of a great park I wish to visit one day, Lorentzen! My favorite of these pictures has to be the "Arla" farm plantation. The real trees and grasses just make it look so lifelike. All of those other models are amazing! The airport is very well made! I really like the largeness of the airplanes and the number of windows in the building. The seaport is awesome! I especially like the trail that the truck is on - it's details like that that make creations interesting! The NASA space station is very realistic! I really like the smoke that comes out of the space shuttle. Those "cave drawings" inside the rock walls are just beautiful. I really like the giraffe and the ostriches. I just like large LEGO animals so much. Thanks for sharing all of these wonderful pictures! Looks like your camera's picture taking "strength" is much stronger than usual. But seriously, that's so funny! That must have been a one in a million chance for that to happen right after you took a pic.
  19. Oh, thanks so much for reviving this topic! I almost completely forgot about it. I will try to post a pic of my room tomorrow. The table really needs some organizing, and I'm running out of room for displaying my sets! Unfortunately, that means taking apart some of my larger sets.
  20. So you robbed them of their $50 set? I really hate how TRU jacks up their prices so much, but remains the #1 toy store in USA. These deals and free bricks are very nice, though.
  21. prateek's ARC-170? That's kenobi8's. For an alternate model made only using parts from one battle pack, that is very nicely done! Keep up the good work guys! I'll have to try to make my own someday!
  22. You're welcome! It means a lot to me for you to comment on my stuff. Thanks! I'm not sure if I want to join the legion when I'm older. I really like the idea of dressing up as a stormtrooper, though. Thanks guys! I never knew that this was Gree's phase two armor! His Clone Wars armor looks so plain when compared to this one. You didn't need to link to that, since I had already added it to my first post before you made a post. Well, I wrote that because I was thinking about how much you helped me to get a chrome Vader. Also, Gree's unit name was almost exactly what your name is, except that yours is missing the dash and has a "J" at the beginning. The employee wasn't really "serious," she was grinning when she said it. And thanks! Well, don't blame me! It's the voters' faults. Thanks for the comment, too! Thanks!I did have a great time. I would have liked to stay for much longer (I left at around 3:30 PM), but my mom said that it was getting late, since we had to go to a Chinese supermarket to get a 50 pound bag of rice and to Safeway, to get two gallons of milk. Also, I went to Black Angus at around 5 PM on the same day. I know, it's unfair how the US gets almost everything.
  23. Thanks for all of that info (I'm new to the online LEGO community, and have never visited LEGO Stores before January 2009)! I'm also probably going to get Winter Toy Shop at during the Black Friday sale (for Christmas) if I get a good percentage off (given that LEGO Stores do have the scratchcards this year). Yeah, the Amazon deals are very good. My uncle-in-law bought a $600 TV (which was over 50% off) on Amazon during last year's Black Friday, and it sold out in about two minutes! When I was talking about getting Endor Battle, I was talking about getting it at the LEGO Store. Others have mentioned that last year, you get a scratch card where you can get either 10%, 25%, or 50% off your entire purchase. Thanks! A search for "LEGO" brings up this page:http://www.blackfriday.info/search.php?search=LEGO EDIT: Whoops, never mind. Those are the archived 2008 sales and deals.
  24. Congratulations Athos and Mrs. Athos! What about a Baby Fan of DUPLO (BFOD), or Future Fan of LEGO (FFOL - unfortunately this is the same as Female Fan of LEGO)?
  25. Bah, what a rip-off. Not much of a point in pre-ordering, if you ask me (unless really, really want the game). And booger, thanks for pointing that out. I didn't look closely enough to see that.
