I bought 8907 Rock Hacker and 8908 Monster Launcher at Target today (in the Halloween section, US stores only), for $3 USD each. These are my first PM sets, and I have to say that they are pretty good. Monster Launcher is a bit overpriced, but Sulfrix makes up for it. On the other hand, Rock Hacker is a great set. 29 pieces (plus over 5 extras!) for only $3 USD is a great deal.

More new products from Shop@Home (2009 later half)
ILikePi replied to Alywin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't really understand. LEGO said that they are going to make much less chromed things (like lightsabers ), but then make things like the chrome silver stormtrooper, the chrome gold minifig keychain, and these chrome gold magnet bricks. But anyways, these look awesome, and I'll definitely get one pack the next time I go to the LEGO Store! -
Someone just posted on Flickr (around one hour ago) that they asked a clerk, and he/she said that the VIP card will replace the loyalty card, and the VIP card might work online, too!

I've found at least 20 mistakes in LEGO catalogs from 2008-2009. I really need to post them up sometime... Here are some old pictures from Flickr (I posted them back in January): LEGO made a HUGE mistake in the January 2009 catalog (USA). They said that the 6212 X-Wing measures 4" wide and 6" long. Those must be really small bricks and minifigs! In the Holiday 2008 catalog, there's a description of Vader's TIE Advanced in the picture of the 10030 Imperial Star Destroyer. LEGO put the wrong minifig at the top of the page for the 8960 Power Miners Thunder Driller (January 2009 catalog). Others that I don't have time to put up with pictures and descriptions: http://www.flickr.com/photos/32143784@N08/...n/pool-ilikepi/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/32143784@N08/...n/pool-ilikepi/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/32143784@N08/...n/pool-ilikepi/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/32143784@N08/...n/pool-ilikepi/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/32143784@N08/...n/pool-ilikepi/ Enjoy! Also, shouldn't this belong in the LEGO News and General Discussion forum?

A few days ago, my friend TooMuchDew on Flickr posted scans of the October 2009 LEGO Store Calendar for the US. Here are the pictures: There is this new "LEGO VIP" program that is coming soon to LEGO Stores (October 19th, to be exact). What it basically is is a reward program (just like the loyalty cards). For every 100 points you get (one point = $1 spent), you get $5 USD back (5% cash back). It might not be as good as the current loyalty card program, but it could be better in the long run, because if you spend a few dollars over every $25 increment, you can get some extra points back, unlike the loyalty card program (for example, if you spend $35, you can get 35 points with the VIP card program, but only one stamp with the loyalty card, so you "lose" $10). Do you think that this new program will be replacing the current loyalty card program? I don't think that LEGO would keep both of them at the same time. EDIT: It looks like it will replace the loyalty card program, and there is word that it might work online, too!

Well, they are already available on Amazon, and they're also on sale! LEGO Brickmaster: Pirates LEGO Brickmaster: Castle But anyways, nice find. I myself actually thought that they were going to be released in October, until you told us about them (then I went to check Amazon ). By the way, I think that this goes in the Buy, Sell, Trade, and Find forum.

Thanks for uploading those pictures, Kanal-K1! The minifigures look nice and detailed, but the trident looks like a piece that Mega Bloks would make. The sets look a bit like the Aqua Raiders sets - one huge thing with some minifigures attacking it. I don't know what to think right now, so I'll wait for more pictures. I don't understand why LEGO would decide to discontinue the Pirates theme, and start making this new, weird one, though...
-
I don't really understand why LEGO would decide to end one of their own "evergreen" themes after just one wave of sets. Why not just discontinue making one of the other themes (like the Atlantis one) instead? Although we might get Pirates of the Caribbean sets instead, they will not be the same as these non-licensed ones. Also, why bring back so many parts/make new ones (cutlass, musket, revolver, bridge, island, boat hull parts, masts, bandanas, peg legs, hook hands, etc.) just so that they could be used in only one wave of sets?
-
I actually thought that the "bad plastic" figures were in all sets that do not have a normal set number (4-5 digits), like this, which is nine million, one thousand, eight hundred and fifty-seven (9001857 ). Here's a picture from my friend starstreak that shows the price of the watches (USD):

If we actually do get an AT-AT, that would be great! The last one was motorized, so there couldn't be any interior. I hope that if this rumor is true (and I believe that it is, since xwingyoda was an admin on EB before he and Vader left and made Brick Horizon), there will be an actual interior with things like a passenger bay and weapons rack.
-
LEGO would never release a set with all of the aliens.Anyways, you said that you were joking in the other threads, so this is obviously false. EDIT: I don't even understand your post...first you say that you found a picture, then you say that you have no picture.

Yes, and thanks! The borders of the lines are a bit squiggly, but I don't mind.So should I wait for you to fix the flesh tone? Thanks for taking your time to make it!
-
Hey guys, I was wondering if there is a decal for this head in flesh: If not, could someone please make one for me? I plan on using it on my makeshift Imperial officer for the LEGO Star Wars battle pack contest. Thanks!

Here's a "translation". "I am backing up Millacol here. I am sure that the Clone Turbo Tank (aka Juggernaut) will be a Clone Wars version, since it seems like the Prequel Trilogy (episodes I - III) sets have been temporarily replaced by Clone Wars sets. Also, a Clone Turbo Tank is shown in the Star Wars the Clone Wars season 2 television series preview. " Understand now? I also agree with Millacol. It seems that LEGO will be making a large amount of Clone Wars sets (instead of Prequel Trilogy sets) for at least one more year.
-
Wow, thanks for pointing that out to us Oky Wan!I agree with JCC1004; this "battle pack" is getting better by the day!
-
I concur! Also, don't forget special features in LEGO Stores like the 3-D display box thing (forgot the actual name ), small screens that are built into the walls that show some advertisements (I love looking at those!), and those displays of the large and popular sets. If TRU got those things (and especially PaB), LEGO Stores would lose their charm authenticity. That's probably because the workers are huge LEGO fans themselves, and enjoy having other LEGO fans around them in the same store.
-
I find it odd how most people who like the LEGO Toy Story line are huge fans of LEGO Star Wars. I'm hoping that there will be some actual printed parts (aside from the minifigs and large Buzz's head) in this line. I can already see some parts that are definitely stickers, like the "JAIL" sign in the "Woody's Round-up" set (back of the tile is dark bley, front is brown, so it's a sticker).

If that account is actually not a real person, I would like to know why that account is ... EDIT: If you want that removed, feel free to change my post. Sorry if I caused any trouble...

Of course I did. If I gave links to Amazon (links that show it on sale), why would I not have gotten it from Amazon on sale?

Petition: We want the Pirates Advent Calender in the United States
ILikePi replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
I can't believe that LEGO would do the exact same thing that happened last year with the Castle Advent Calendar. There are thousands (maybe even hundreds of thousands) of LEGO fans in the US and Canada that want to buy the Pirates Advent Calendar. I am going to buy one copy, but ONLY if you list it as a product in the US, not if all you people at LEGO just decide to do the same thing last year (calling a phone number to order), since my parents will probably not do that, and I'm sure that there are many others that want it to be widely available, too. So, sign me up for this petition! π EDIT: Just helping to spread the word on Flickr... -
Wow, those large figures are much better that I thought! I might even have to get the Zurg one...for educational purposes, of course. All of those other sets look amazing, too! I can't wait for them to come out! EDIT: In fact, I may even have to use some of the money from my LEGO Star Wars "budget" next year!
-
It can't be the one from Anakin's Y-wing, since the design on that R2-D2 is a Clone Wars version. My guess it that it'll be exactly the same as the one in Endor Battle (which was also in the Death Star).
-
Oh well, it looks like LEGO is going to lose around hundreds of thousands of USD. I probably won't get the City Advent Calendar either, since some of the mini models in that set look like they were made in a few minutes. Also, the Winter Toy House seems expensive. Oh and by the way, I got a reply from LEGO Customer Service: She said "I apologize that I gave you misinformation earlier, it was not my intent to mislead you" because I was first sent a generic e-mail that had almost nothing to do with my question.

Today I finally convinced my parents to pre-order LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary and The LEGO Book (with my own money, of course)! Hooray!

Great review ben! What a great way to introduce yourself to Eurobricks! I don't know why some of you guys are saying that this set is overpriced. Compared to the other sets (*cough* Republic Dropship *cough*), the price point for this is perfect. After all, it fits with the golden rule (10 US cents per part). I'm really happy that LEGO decided to do a complete, full color print on those trans-clear half cones. This means that LEGO is actually listening to our feedback! Sure, the interior and the minfigure selection may not be extremely good, but if you don't like it, just don't buy it (for your information, I'm not going to buy it because I don't have enough money). It's that simple... I for one like it, since it resembles the shape of the actual ship pretty well by LEGO standards, and has a huge amount of greebles. The interior details also look good to me, too. The dark green transport ship seems like a last minute addition to either raise the piece count or to add a small amount of extra play (carrying the crate with the transport), but keep in mind that these sets are designed mostly for little children, even if the age says "14+". Wow, that must have been one of my longest posts on EB so far.
