Wow, that looks awesome! Nice find CaptainRex! The blue drill piece looks very cool. I'm starting to like this lava/water Power Miners theme. I won't be getting it (I have a very limited budget), but I'm thinking on getting the Fire Blaster. EDIT: Hmm... it looks like the names of the lava monsters are Combustix (yellow) and Firax (orange). It looks like the LEGO designers couldn't come up with some creative names for the orange one (Firox, Firax), but I wouldn't be able to do better. EDIT (yeah, another one ): Oops, I didn't see that Bfahome already said that. Just what I thought right when I saw it! I think that the Fire Blaster will be $10 USD, since there are so many colors of parts...EDIT: EDIT (again...): Hooray! LEGO has finally answered to our requests! EDIT (last one, I promise! ): Actually those look like dark bley 2 x 4 tiles, not 2 x 3. Aww. Oh well, that's okay. So was the color scheme of the adjustable links lime and orange?

Wow, for a first MOC, that is amazing! It looks very detailed and it captures the shape of the real one very nicely. Also, welcome to Eurobricks! I hope you have a great time here.

The Penguin's Batman Minifigures. )
ILikePi replied to The Penguin's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Wow, how could I miss this thread! Your Batman minifigures are amazing, The Penguin! You've made so many in such a small amount of time! Your painting is getting much better, too! I especially like the laughing fish - they just look so funny! One thing I would suggest is using a different color background for the white minifigures - your white makes the minifigs too bright to see clearly. Other than that, keep up the good work! -
That sounds new. However, I hope that the rock monster isn't made of the cheap plastic that the normal minifigures are made of. Being printed in China is bad enough (the printing comes off easily).Any chance that you could get a picture soon?

Wow, you have an amazing city, ACCURATEin! Your town looks really nice. When/If the LEGO Star Wars license ends, I just might have to start collecting LEGO City sets. So far, the only City set I have is the 2006 Ambulance (although I plan on buying the Winter Toy Shop). I really like that hanging LEGO City sign - nice touch! Your photos are really crisp, too! I can't wait to see the next photos of your display!

Wow, great review Inconspicuous, and congratulations on becoming a teacher in the Reviewer's Academy! I never knew that one of the windows on the bottom floor was a door - thanks for pointing that out! The past reviews of this set that I read had no mention of that. The SNOT hotel sign is very nice, but by the looks of it, it could use some extra thickness to the sides of the O, the tail of the T, and the top part of the L... I can't believe that the color consistency of the reddish brown bricks is that bad! Although your suggestion that they are discolored like that on purpose to make the wall look worn down is a nice thought. Also, the patterns on the inside of the bottom floor are a nice addition. And about that alternate model - in an interview with Jamie Berard (on BrickJournal?), he said that that model was built to show how much medium and dark blue there was in the set. I can't wait to see your review of the Statue of Liberty set, one that I never knew existed until yesterday when I saw it in The LEGO Book! Keep up the good reviews!

Nice find pedro! Here are my thoughts (and my ratings based on the pictures): 8056 (black and orange crab) - that brick-built crab looks great! If this is the $6 USD set for the theme, I'll get one. (4 out of 5) 8057 (small red speeder) - if this is the $10 USD set, it looks like it could use some more accessories or mini-models... (3 out of 5) 8059 (human underwater car) - what? You don't need wheels underwater ()! This set looks a bit like a Power Miners, too... (3 out of 5) 8060 (medium-sized red ship with two propellers) - looks a bit skeletal. Oh well, I never really liked the look of the red ships in the first place. (2 out of 5) 8061 (ruins) - looks great! The red octopus minifigure is very cool, and that white brick-built squid-thing is cool. The ruins look well-built, too! (5 out of 5) 8072 & 8073 (impulse sets) - the minifigures look great! If they're $3.50 USD each, I'll definitely be getting one of each. However, the rock seems to be just an addition to make the underwater creature set worth more. You're basically paying for the minifigure... (4 out of 5) 8075 (other medium-sized ship set) - looks better than the other red ship. I like the inclusion of the small mining vehicle, but still, there is a extremely low chance of me getting this. (3 out of 5) 8079 (black and lime green monster) - looks like a mutated turtle seeking revenge from the divers ()! I probably won't be getting it, but it looks nice. (3 out of 5) Overall, this theme looks like it's going to be very popular among the LEGO community!

His voice doesn't seem bad to me. I would much rather prefer the guy who talks in the beginning of every Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series episode (to make the ads more authentic), but this guy is just fine. And anyways, I think that his voice has narrated LEGO Star Wars ads since 2007 or so. If not many people liked his voice, there would be a different one by now.

Just got my two books (The LEGO Book and the Visual Dictionary) today - they shipped it on Saturday, two days before it was even released in the US! I can't wait to read them! They're very heavy and thick. I'll be looking at these occasionally for a few years at the least! I'll try to take some pictures soon for all of you who don't have one to enjoy.
-
No, I don't think so. Since the sets are going to be released in three months, the final designs are probably already done (at least for the minifigure selection).EDIT: That new tan rebel helmet looks great! I really like the two pins on each side so you can either put the visor up or down.

If you owned every 2009 set and could have one more...?
ILikePi replied to PittSOB's topic in LEGO Pirates
I think that Brickbeard's Bounty would be the best option, because you can combine two of them to make a larger ship that can actually be a formidable the Imperial Flagship. Just look at these measurements for the sets: -
Teddy, do you feel better now that LEGO has made a really large Imperial ship?

ILikePi replied to lego maniac's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks so much KimT! Now I don't need to play this game. EDIT: From the looks of it, you'll need the Hyena Droid Bomber, Separatist Shuttle, Republic Attack Shuttle, and some other sets. -
More pictures! EDIT: And a size comparison chart of the toys in the movies: There's lots more over here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/brickjournal/...57622380924403/

Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion
ILikePi replied to DarthSion's topic in Culture & Multimedia
The one hour long season 2 premiere was very interesting. I liked seeing more of Plo Koon, and or course, Cad Bane! However, I didn't like how the part about capturing the Jedi with the crystal thing was skipped. Oh, and for those of you who are wondering what happened to Cad Bane at the end, Well, that's all I have to say (I can't really remember the other interesting parts. The overall episode was very good, and I highly recommend you guys to see it! -
Yes, just look at my signature. Thanks for finding the pics, Oky Wan! These sets are looking great. I can't wait to see some reviews of these! It's a shame that the printed parts for Buzz's helmet and wings are made in China, though (they're bagged separately). EDIT: I misspelled hsame!
-
Wow, this is so awesome! I love all of the details and accessories included in this set. LEGO has really gone over the top with all of these amazing and well-built exclusive sets these days! Unfortunately, I'm not a huge pirates fan, so I won't be getting it. If only it were cheaper... I can't wait to see reviews, though!
-
Not really. Just pretend that you live in California, because right now it's still Erdy's birthday here.
-
Happy birthday Erdy! Here's a LEGO Pirates minifigure cake! Hope you get lots of LEGO and strawberries and cake and LEGO Pirates sets and more Cannon Battle sets and Separatist Shuttles and Corporate Alliance Tank Droids and The Temple of Dooms and The Battle of Endors and Green Grocers and Galactic Enforcers and Cement Mixers with the front pictures torn off () and other stuff that birthday people get! EDIT: Wow, nice loot! On my birthdays, I usually only get $20. I'll just have to ask for more stuff next year.
-
No problem. I got a quick response from LEGO Customer Service about the availability of the set, but they just said this:
-
Joe Meno of BrickJournal has shown us some pictures of the large Buzz set at BrickCon! There may also be more pictures coming soon of the other sets!
-
We already found out about this in July 20 (see this FBTB.net post). I've seen it in my local Target (see this blurry picture), and it's also available at LEGO S@H here.

Star Wars The Quest for R2-D2; Full game now online
ILikePi replied to lego maniac's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for posting this! Which character did you play to get this part? Obviously you buy them from BrickLink. -
These look nice, but we've already seen them before (I'll go find the old thread). I can't really remember, but the price of these is around $20 to $40 USD... EDIT: Found the threads! Here's the first one about them, and the second one, with pictures. (I hope that you're being sarcastic, by the way) Yes, that is what the arm does. It's a lantern, not a head attachment.
