Dang it, that's the second time I've misspelled your name! Yes, I'm saying that I liked the Indiana Jones one. I agree that the January set is from Atlantis. Hopefully it will minifig-scale and will lead to many more minifig-scale sets in the future! Oh and by the way, do you like being called Inconspicuous or Inky more?

Thanks for the review Inconsipcuous! When compared to the old mini Republic gunship, this one wins by a landslide, even though this is much smaller. I would much rather have some minifigure-scale Brickmaster sets instead of mini sets like the Indiana Jones car (that's the reason why I'm not going to get Brickmaster), but this is just fine. If it was released as an official mini set, I'll probably purchase it, since it's worth $6 and has 94 pieces. That reminds me, I need to finish my review! Hopefully I'll be able to do so over Thanksgiving break. No more procrastinating!

That's the clearest picture so far of the Rebel Trooper Battle Pack! Thanks! The vehicle isn't as great as I hoped, but I'll still be getting it because battle packs are all about the minifigs.

Wow, your town is progressing very well! Your trees have interesting designs and that skyscraper is looking gigantic! I can't wait to see it finished. Keep up the good work!

REVIEW: Atlantis 8056 Monster Crab Clash
ILikePi replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the review TheBrickster! I agree with you that this does seem more like a parts pack than an actual set - you get lots of new black horn/barbs, small orange barbs, and Atlantis minifig, and one of those collectible keys! I hope to get this, but with all of the great new themes and sets coming out next year, I'll have to wait for a while before making my "buy" list. -
REVIEW: 5909 Treasure Raiders
ILikePi replied to Bricknave's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Great review Bricknave! Thanks for making this, otherwise this set would have been another one that I never knew existed! I like the look of this very much. There's a plethora of intricate printed parts, and there's that huge mummy storage container, which is a great bonus! I can't believe that two versions of the set were released -2879 comes without the storage case - but were both priced at $20! -
Great list JCC1004! I only found a few mistakes in the timeline. This is a list of everything I found, using your format: Page number - Type of error - Error 9 - Timeline placement - 8017 Darth Vader's Tie Fighter is listed as a 2008 set when it was released in 2009 9 - Timeline placement - 30005 Mini Imperial Speeder Bike is listed as a Clone Wars set when it is actually EU 9 - Timeline placement - 30006 Mini Clone Walker is listed as a Clone Wars set when it is actually EU 9 - Timeline placement - 8014 Clone Walker Battle Pack is listed as a Clone Wars set when it is actually EU* 9 - Timeline placement - 8015 Assassin Droids Battle Pack is listed as a Clone Wars set when it is actually EU* 18 - Description - In the description about Darth Maul, they say that his lightsaber is single-bladed in 7663 Sith Inflitrator. Is this true? 20 - Picture - An Anakin Skywalker minifigure with printed pockets on the legs never existed 25 - Picture - An assassin droid from the 2009 battle pack is used instead of the original IG-88 minifigure 45 - Description title - For the title of the description about the quad laser cannons on the Millennium Falcon, only the word "quad" is capitalized when all three words should be 47 - Picture - The picture of 7264 Imperial Inspection is horrendously fuzzy 50 - Picture - The picture of the turbolaser cannon is very badly edited 52 - Picture - The bottom right foot of the 2003 version of the AT-AT is missing the footpad 52 - Description - In the description of the snowtrooper, the word "inbuilt" is used instead of "built-in" 63 - Descriptions - In both snowspeeder descriptions, Dack Ralter's name is spelled "Dak" 65 - Caption - There's a dash in between the words "trap door" (in the book it's "trap-door") 69 - Caption - The caption of the sliding blast doors in 8038 The Battle of Endor says that they "can be 'blown off'" while the sides can only be blown off 75 - Data box - The data box of 8014 Clone Walker Battle Pack has a spot where some ink is missing (may only be in my book) 77 - Data box - The Homing Spider Droid's data box is replaced with 7670 Hailfire Droid and Spider Droid's data box 81 - Picture - 8031 V-19 Torrent is upside-down 93 - Picture name - The text under Chewbacca says the old magnet set with Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and Obi-Wan Kenobi is the 2009 magnet set when this version is the 2005 one All - Flip-animation - The clone troopers in the flip-animation on every page of the book have light bley hips instead of black ones * Since the 2007 and 2008 battle packs are listed as EU sets, these should be too, since they are vehicles that TLG invented. Well, that's it for now! EDIT: By the way, there's a photo collage of the October 10 event:

Here's my entry, a wreath: I used almost all of the foliage and dark red round 1 x 1 bricks that I have in my collection. All pieces are either from my only PAB cup or from my Temple of the Crystal Skull set. I would link to more pictures, but currently Brickshelf isn't allowing uploads. Also, I was going to take a picture of it on my front door, but the tape didn't hold and the whole wreath exploded...

Actually, you might be correct about the PT/CW thing!I just checked the Amazon product description (see below), and it says that the astromech droid is R4-P44. According to Wookieepedia, R4-P44 only appeared in Episode III.

Minifig Collectors: Show and Discuss Your Collection Here
ILikePi replied to gladiator's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Sorry to bother you, but you're missing two skeletons in your Indiana Jones collection: They aren't listed under Indiana Jones, but they come/came in the Temple of the Crystal Skull and Chauchilla Cemetery Battle. -

Just read the review on 5982 Smash 'n' Grab, and the set looks stunning! Of course, there is a big gap in the back, but the abundance of purple makes up for it. The "Max $250,000" sticker on the crane is hilarious. The set also includes some useful pieces, like the crane hook and the windscreen in a new trans-yellow color. Also, the set comes with an extra purple cheese slope, a great bonus! Even though the set is this good, I can't decide on whether or not to get it. There are just so many fantastic sets and new themes next year for my LEGO budget...

Spanish Imperial Galleon - Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion
ILikePi replied to Bonaparte's topic in Pirate MOCs
I'm not a huge fan of LEGO Pirates, but this ship is absolutely stunning! All of the rigging and sails are beautifully made, and I just love every aspect of it! -
Actually, you must have gotten a misprinted page. Mine says "Stormtroopers with Imperial Inspection (set 7264) have armor shin plates." Hopefully I'll have time to at least make a list of the mistakes I've found. I have lots of sticky notes all over the book marking where they are.

Sorry to revive this topic, but I had a dream about LEGO in the morning. It was in the LEGO Store. My mom had taken me there to get a certain set, which I don't remember. For some reason, there was a huge yellow and rectangular table in the middle of the whole store. On the inner part of the table, there were some sets on display, and on the outer part there were some LEGO sets. I looked around, and something caught my eye: two new sets! They were a mini train and a mini model of a mountain with a tunnel cut into it. The only thing I remember was that the boxes were impulse-set sized and that the mini train either had a dark green and pearl gold color scheme or that both sets had some purple in them (purple mountain, isn't that weird ). There also was no theme on the box, just the LEGO logo in the top left. I asked my mom if I could get them, and she said that I could if I did not get anything else on that visit. The thing that I wanted was pretty big, but I never saw or heard any rumors of the sets, so I agreed. Then my mind just skipped the purchase of the sets and the drive home, and I showed the sets to my brother. And then I woke up (), but quickly got over it. I actually don't understand why I dreamt of this. I'm not a fan of LEGO trains (except for the Emerald Night, but I like all sets with that type of box), and I have never owned any.

How many of the LEGOLAND's have you been to?
ILikePi replied to Piranha's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Me too!I went to LEGOLAND California once in 2004. That was over 3 years before I became a huge LEGO fan, so I did not really enjoy the park and get any souvenirs. If I could go again, I would be so happy... I want to visit LEGOLAND Billund the most since it was the first one, and it's close to where LEGO originated. Great topic! -
My brother bought the game when it came out on Tuesday for $50 USD, $10 off the original price! Now that he's finished the campaign (which he says is pretty short, maybe around 5 hours), he says that it's a pretty good game. The new killstreaks (which you can see here) are very cool, and the new items (riot shield, throwing knives, etc.) are great additions to the game. The new modes and co-op missions seem very fun, too, especially the third-person mode! I didn't get to play it, but I don't mind since the only FPS game that I like is Team Fortress 2. EDIT: On a side note, has anyone gotten a tactical nuke yet?
-
I agree with this statement, but we were already bestowed a minifigure-scale Millennium Falcon - the UCS one. We received a Midi-scale one this year, but I personally would have liked to see a $50-$100 USD set about the size of the first two MFs with a fully furnished interior instead.

Those sets are looking good! I like the use of creative set names instead of just something like "Shark Attack". I love the gigantic, full color advertisements on the back of the instruction manuals. Those are my favorite parts of the booklet. The minifigs are very detailed (even the "feet" are printed)! The new minifig heads are very cool, too. The crab isn't as great as I thought, but still good enough for me to get. I always get the cheaper sets in the themes other than Star Wars. The new medium sized "horn" pieces are awesome. They'll be useful for making claws on a monster's hands and feet. The shark makes a great $15 USD set! It's funny how it looks menacing only when viewed at certain angles. The abundance of teeth in various sizes are a great addition - it makes the shark look as if it could swallow some divers whole! Overall it looks very interesting, and it's pretty cheap for a shark set. I think that LEGO overused the new horn piece, though (according to this picture, there are 13 in the set, along with 12 smaller ones!). The submarine is actually much better than I expected. I thought that it was going to have lots of holes and gaps in the base, but it looks very sturdy. The included shark minifig is just amazing. It's very detailed, and the trident is also better than what I thought it was going to be like. Atlantis looks like a very promising theme!

There's also a post on Brickset. Since the review isn't on Eurobricks, I guess I'll comment on the Raid VPR here... The box art looks much better now since the vehicles are inside the city instead of outside. I'm not really liking the new helmet, but at least it's airtight! Overall it looks like a good set, but I won't be getting it as it's pretty expensive for $10 USD. I can't wait to see the Smash 'n' Grab review! The set looks very promising with all of the purple.
-
Dang it, I thought that it was a completely new piece! Yeah, I just forgot about that when I posted my comment. So for a set for children, it's probably very good. A set with two vehicles and some rooms would make me very happy if I was younger. But anyways, I'll take the age group in mind next time when commenting on a review.

Wow, the first 2010 City set review! I don't understand why there needs to be eight numbered bags (most of which seem very empty), though. It looks like only four would be needed. Also, I have no idea why LEGO would include four instruction booklets - why not just one? That's a lot of new parts for 2010, but most of those aren't really needed... I didn't know that the rescue net would look like that! I thought that the middle part would be a solid square. After seeing these pictures, I can conclude that the set is very empty. There are also many large pieces used in the construction, which annoys me very much. Anyways, thanks for posting this review! Hopefully we'll see other sets reviewed soon.
