  1. Here are some more of my latest MOCs / MODs:
  2. do you use Flickr? can send me a message via my Flickr account (see link in my sig).
  3. Yeah, looks like a complete rip-off of your design... pretty shady...
  4. I've got this fig -- can PM me for details.
  5. Hmm, that Daredevil mask could be interesting... Got a link?
  6. Great collection! What do you mean by "short pan version"?
  7. Noooo! Ha ha, I just sourced one of these on eBay b/c I didn't want to take the risk that it was going to be an exclusive that wouldn't be appearing in future sets. But the bigger picture is that if this is true, its good that TLG is steering away from doing purely exclusive figs....
  8. Those things make DC / SY look like Christo customs...
  9. With all due respect, you had better delete your post unless you want to risk getting a ban. You simply cannot circumvent new account posting rules by hi-jacking other people's threads. Not to mention it is totally uncool.
  10. Thank you for the kind words Very cool. Where is this from? Agree.
  11. Anyone been able to get any live links for the SY Doom, Jean Grey sets? To be completely fair, I doubt I'd be able to produce another one of the same quality. I felt I got a bit lucky I didn't destroy it couple of times. I am looking forward to the Thor helm -- I have a sentimental attachment to my MOC one, and I will def. be keeping it, but it would be nice to have a proper Thor helm!
  12. Any one got a direct link for the new SY sets?
  13. Holy crap! I was about to say -- what an honor! Though it does look a bit different. Anyone got a link?

  15. @ Cyril99 Well, in a sense, there is no point in arguing about bootlegs. This is a "genie" that is out of the bottle and it will not go back in. As I said, just because a copy of a design appears in the wild, does not mean that this should affect sales of the original design. As Robianco stated, many people who buy bootlegs have no idea that Black Bolt is NACM's design, just like they had no idea that eclipseGrafx was the original design for many Cyclops figs, Muddy River's Fantastic Four, etc., etc. Your girlfriend never buys fake Chanel bags because she appreciates true quality and is willing to pay for it. And in the same way, there are many customers of premium customs that appreciate true quality and are willing to pay for it. btw, there are TONS of Chanel bootlegs around the world. And guess what? Chanel's gross revenues last year was around $5 billion. I think they are doing pretty OK and I don't think that example is really helping your case. Let's not confuse those two things. Bootlegs copies =/= lower demand for premium customs. In fact, I would argue that they are more likely to: 1) raise the profile of the premium custom (e.g. "Who was the original maker?" -- for instance, now everyone in the thread knows who NACM is and that they made the Black Bolt design -- that's great promotion!); and 2) more people are likely to seek out the original custom (let's google "NACM" -- oh wow, look at all of those awesome premium customs -- maybe I'll save up and buy one of those one day -- and once they get more serious about collecting many will) i.e. your long run demand is likely to increase rather than decrease due to Bootlegs.
  16. Well if that is true, its an absolute shame that NACM has decided to stop making Super Hero figs. I will say a few things on this front: 1) I am a loyal customer of premium costumizers: Christo, Phoenix, MR, Popk, Penz, Online and yes, NACM -- so I feel pretty qualified to give my view as a bonafide paying customer of premium customs. 2) I also buy DC / SY figs -- mostly for figs that others do not release (but sometimes for extra parts, MOCs, MODs, other designs, etc.) 3) The fact that a bootlegger releases a copy of a premium custom (again, in my view) does not affect my decision to purchase a premium custom. 4) The only exception is when there is very limited supply (e.g. SDCCs) and the secondary market price explodes to 10-30x the price of a normal fig (e.g. SDCCs or exclusive polybags -- the Electro polybag was low $200s last time I checked -- an absurd price for a figure which should be receive a general wide release) 5) In these instances, I am more than happy to buy a bootleg variant for a tiny fraction of the price. I probably feel better about this kind of purchase than any other purchase I make (probably including non-Lego items as well). 6) I think the general tone of the above post would seem to place a measure of the "blame" (if there really is a need to place any) on the buyers -- which I feel is very misguided. Yes, you can place blame on the bootleggers. Yes, you can try and go after them. But bootlegs will exist, have existed and will continue to exist. I don't see why buyers should take any blame for this. 7) Others have also pointed out (correctly) that even premium customizers are, ironically, not exactly selling products "legally" -- that is to say with the express consent and authority of the legal owners of the characters in question (e.g. MARVEL, Disney). Are these premium customizers paying royalties to the legal owners of these characters? I think not. 8) In other words, TLG has a real reason to gripe about bootleggers. Disney has a real reason to gripe. MARVEL has a real reason to gripe. Customizers? Eh, take what you can get I say. Live and let live. Does it suck that they would straight out copy some designs? Yeah, it sucks. But, is it really going to "destroy" your business? If you think it will, yes, by all means, you should stop and no one would blame you. But I don't think it would for most (if not all) premium customizers -- again, the market segments are entirely different. Bottom line? If NACM or any other premium customizers feel like they want to stop -- of course -- its always their choice. No one is forcing them to sell. But the demand for premium customs will always be there, and I truly believe that it is a separate market segment. It is a crude analogy, but take another premium product such as Rolex watches. You can go to the back streets of many Asian cities (Bangkok, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh) and see knock-off Rolex watches everywhere. Some quality is absolutely horrendous. But actually some knock-offs are quite good (that may pass the eye test of a normal person). Do these really affect they end demand of the genuine Rolex watches? Perhaps, but I suspect it to be a rounding error to the overall sales. One could actually argue (and I do) that these knock-offs actually help raise the profile of Rolex watches (as a symbol of luxury) and that there is always a given percentage of knock-off buyers that not only aspire to own a genuine Rolex watch one day, but actually do end up buying the real thing at some point in their lifetime. Not all of course, but enough I would argue to offset any negative effect in end demand in the long run. Well enough micro-economics 101. I hope that NACM re-thinks their decision to stop making Super Hero figures (if indeed that is their decision). They make some of the best premium figures in the market. They are in the market segment of the "Rolexes" of premium customs. Your buyers will be there. I have been a loyal fan, supporter and customer in the past, in the present and hopefully in the future as well. Thank you for reading.
  17. Man, you would think that if another bootlegger were to throw their hat in the ring, they would at least try and differentiate themselves and put out some figs that haven't been done by every other bootlegger...
  18. +1. Brasso does the trick without damage.
  19. Thanks buddy -- right back at you -- that Super Skrull MOC is awesome!
  20. LEGO should release an exclusive Decool or SY fig (e.g. Odin or big fig Groot) for April Fool's day -- just to troll them.
  21. I like this idea and I agree that this hairpiece would be much better if it didn't cover up so much of the upper torso... that's always been my issue with this hairpiece. Is that the standard head for Scarlet Witch?
  22. Is this link correct, because went I clicked on it, there doesn't seem to be any listing for figs? Thanks!
  23. That's the next project. :) The Cap helmet MOD you see in my sig is a MODded Flash Helm.
