    Pet peeves?

When I'm finishing a build and there's only 1 part I don't have to complete it. Even in WIP stage, it's annoying.
  2. Yesterday I received a package with 75112 General Grievous from last year's Star Wars constraction sets, and a second 42033 Record Breaker.
  3. "True villains" to me is the main bad guy. Zam Wesell was a villain, but not a "true" villain the way I see it, since she was hired by others and didn't act on her own accord. If I recall correctly, she was hired by Jango Fett who was in turn hired by Dooku who kinda was the "true" villain of AOTC, although he too acted on someone else's accord by doing Sidious' bidding.
  4. Honestly, although I don't mind a BWE, the most impressive thing with the real thing is how insanely huge it is while still being a functioning machine. I've only ever seen in real life an older forward-facing wire excavator which was said to be 480 tons, about 3-4 floors tall, and even that is small compared to the biggest BWEs. Getting to see one of those in real life would have to be insane!
  5. Until we know how much the BWE will cost and see pics of it, I think we should wait by judging it. It has a different construction and size, but it's basically just an excavator. I don't know what to think of it yet, but I'm excited to see how TLG will pull it off.
  6. Happy new year to everyone on Eurobricks! Edit: thx Immo
  7. I don't remember if it's been said in this thread, but I think it would have been cool if Phasma was the one who fought Finn with the lightsaber-countering weapon on Takodana instead of some random Stormtrooper. That could have been a good way of showing off Phasma's skills better, showing why she's a captain and in charge of the Stormtroopers. As for Kylo Ren, he was injured and perhaps unstable during the duel, and perhaps felt despair when he saw how powerful Rey became when she let the Force flow through her. She is obviously strong with the Force and if she gets trained by Luke, she could become a powerful Jedi.
  8. I guess Starkiller Base was one of the main means to show how powerful the First Order are/were.
  9. I really like TFA. It may have some big similarities with the old movies, but I don't mind it seeing as it's a well-made movie IMO. I agree that the destruction of Starkiller Base was predictable and too much of a repeat, but it's about the only thing that bothers me. Does every part of the movie have to be completely original and new? They could probably pull that off, but I don't see any big problem with the movie as it is.
  10. Done with the second watching about 1,5 hours ago. It didn't get less good although I knew what was coming
  11. Going to see it for the second time tonight. After some consideration, I think my favorite scene is when Rey and Finn take the Falcon to escape the TIE-fighters and she flies through the old Star Destroyer while he works the bottom laser cannons. Great and exciting scene!
  12. Nice mod there, Effe, might inspire me when I get one and start modding it
  13. They don't understand Lego + "too much" = impossible
  14. Off-topic, but I couldn't resist as I found this
  15. Merry Christmas to everyone, have a Legood time
  16. I'll most likely get the mine loader and I'll probably modify it anyway, so the flaws don't mean much to me.
  17. According to the info at IMDb, the old man's name (I would think it's the name) is Lor San Tekka.
  18. Alright, I haven't watched it closely enough in review to see that.
  19. Of course not bringing it back as it's now destroyed, but rather leaving it disabled and useless for the time being, and perhaps attack the base again and destroy the whole planet in episode VIII before the New Order could use it again. I think that could have been better, bringing a new twist since both Death Stars and Starkiller Base were destroyed in the same movie they were all introduced.
  20. They could have written it so that the super weapon in Starkiller Base was damaged and left useless, with the planet and the rest still intact. That could have been one of the build-up's for episode VIII, the threat that Starkiller Base was left damaged and useless for the time being. Also I'm going to watch it again the 28th along with a friend who couldn't come along when we went to see it on the 16th.
  21. The problem with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan vs. Darth Maul to many people is that while looking great and enjoyable, it also looks way too well choreographed, almost to the point where you can see that they kinda concentrate about clashing their lightsabers together in the right way instead of actually trying to kill each other. It is an epic duel, but over-choreographed. As for the unanswered questions in TFA, I think they need to be unanswered to build up more excitement for the next movie. BTW, lightningtiger, what scene are you referring to as the jaw-dropping moment? The final scene?
  22. I got the chills when the opening crawl came, and the first scene after it was just awesome, the way it was done with the shadow and that.
  23. The movie starts here in just less than 5 hours. So exited
  24. I don't know, just an idea. I can't think of any other reason why they would cancel it, although as you basically say, the fire truck looked far better as a whole than the drag racer does. It seems to me they must have been dissatisfied with it somehow.
