  1. Wait, if Leo is KO'd then he cannot be healed, only revived, unless there is a typo in the stats.
  2. Thanks, adjusting accordingly.
  3. Skrall at last raised himself from his seat and headed toward the door. His belly was full and his crossbow was in much better condition than earlier. Perhaps this time he would have more luck in discovering his quarry, if not her, he might at least run into Felton or Hans who could point him in the right direction. Skrall paused at the quest board eying the names under a suspicious advertisement for some sort of scientific extravaganza: Skrall noticed his first companions' names on the list and hope that they would succeed in whatever their endeavors might be. With that Skrall headed out the door and started his trek to the outerskirts of the city, he had a witch to find. OoC: Let me know if I missed anyone.
  4. "So I guess a fair bit of introduction on my part is in order. I'm originally from the south of Ennon, grew up as a free ogre and took up the highway-ogre business when I got out of the nest. Things have gone south metaphorically speakin' now in that line of work, what with caravans hirin' more spell flingers as body gaurds these days, so I thought I'd try my hand out at heroing for a while. I was with Nur and Haldor there(Skrall gestured towards the dark skinned mage and the shirtless shaman) for our first quest pokin' around in the sewers under Eubric for a wolfgang thief. I just got back from a spat with an evil witch of a women named Wren who was tryin' to spark a war in the northern reaches of Ennon. Ever heard of her?" Skrall took a drink of the wine and ordered a bowl of stew. "So what's with this business of a shield? Yer the first ranger I've spotted carryin' around a hunk of metal like that. How'd ya come by it?"
  5. Skrall made his way back into the hall. Taking care to not get too close to the blue creature that had made itself at home amongst the benches, he took a seat at one of tables adjacent to the ongoing conversations. He nodded to Nur, Haldor, and Rone before ordering a skin of wine, pulling out his ram horn pipe, and lighting its sour smelling contents while he listened in hoping that Docken would join him later on to swap stories.
  6. Skrall inspected his crossbow, "Yes, I'm still not as keen on it as I am my old long bow, but it gets the job done. Tell ya what, why don't we let which ever young chap wanted the arena next have his go while we share a drink in the hall. Then you can tell me a little about yerself, I haven't had much of a chance to talk with many of the other rangers of the hall yet." With that Skrall walked back to the main hall.
  7. Measly Remember ogres like Skrall eat level 1 mages for breakfast I wasn't expecting it either, I was planning a whole role playing choice based on Skrall losing, now it's back to the drawing board I guess.
  8. Skrall dusts himself off and walks over to Docken offering his hand, "Well there, Mr. Docken I don't think I've been in such a scrape since my last tussle with 3 chaos beasts. Well fought sir, now where did ya learn to handle a shield like that, it seems pretty handy. Most of my arrows would've gutted a man in 2 rounds but you lasted for quite a spell."
  9. "Sod he's quick," Skrall thought to himself as the ranger rolled past him. With the ranger brhind him, Skrall lunged forward firing a bolt off from the Front Row behind his unprotected back, hoping to catch Docken unprepared. Edit: I think Docken should have 5 less health from the critical hit.
  10. I'm not sure whether to take the as a or not, but the class isn't the issue, you just need to ask people privately whether you can do something like that ahead of time and be respectful of their decision if they say no. As Flipz has said, it takes time to get a good story together and the more you play and interact with someone the more you are able to feel what they would do in a certain situation. For example, Scorpiox and I have quested together a fair amount and I would actually be perfectly fine with almost any role playing situation he asked of me, because we know our characters that well, but for you and Durkon, you have to wait for those relationships to be built. Yes I understand that the real comradery is built on quests and that there is a lack of starter quests available for the newer heroes, but this is where patience comes in and you have the opportunity to show that you are willing to be committed to this game even during the slow times. Find something that makes Durkon a person, it doesn't have to be something fantastical or outlandish, one can only bear so many with dual personalities, or banishment, or possessions, or total family wipe out stories in their background (nothing against those who do). It can be as weird as being born with two left feet, or as bland as being a recent divorcée. Think and ponder for a long time till you have that gem of an idea and then nurture it, don't pump the steroids of rushed role playing into it, because it will soon grow ugly and unappealing to all those around it. Let it run its course until your character sprouts to life and all the Cronk's and Althior's, and Tensi's of the world are glad to have your presence in their party.
  11. Perhaps Heroica hall will one day lead Eubric into a state of political democracy and we can all vote who the next veterans will be
  12. I don't mind personally, though Skrall has quite a ways to go before finally achieving any semblance of veteran status. It would be quite ironic however as Skrall initially arrived at the hall with a deep set hatred for its founders. But like I said, feel free.
  13. Scorpiox, you still have to ask me if you want to use Skrall for your roleplaying
  14. I'd have to agree with HILEI, the Mafia School games are the best place to start if you want an introduction and definitely sign up for Sandy's if you can, it would be a most instructive experience.
  15. With the Ranger approaching from close range, Skrall decided that the time had come to use his size advantage. Towering over Docken, he attempted wresting the shield with one hand while loosing the Hunter's Crossbow with the other from the Front Row.
  16. I think it's a pretty cool idea, reminiscent of the evoker but with its own flair.
  17. So I'm curious as to the summoning book, Scuba. Is it possible to obtain different summons? Does it require ether to summon or maintain a summon? If you upgrade the book does it increase the level of the summon? Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome item and I'm punching myself for not signing up for the quest earlier but there's always the next one.
  18. Correct you can still hit them but only if they are undead will you hurt them. It's more suited for mages, but having a ether free healing item can come in handy for both mages and clerics.
  19. I think I can get them all, but someone correct me if I'm wrong on any of them. Yes it can hurt enemies, but unless the enemy is undead then it will heal them. Although I don't think an answer for this exists yet, I would say that it probably can be upgraded. WP+Lv No it does not use ether. Yes it hurts the undead instead of healing them. No it can not be used outside of combat. If you've got a weapon stronger than the staff and you've got ether to spare heal without it, otherwise in a tight pinch when your ether is running low it's a great tool.
  20. Skrall quickly yanked the protruding arrow from his arm, its head spiked with what seemed a myriad of tiny thorns. "Ah an elemental weapon," he thought to himself, "perhaps I might take advantage of that some way..." Skrall's thoughts were cut short however as Docken was quickly knocking another arrow and taking aim at him. Skrall jammed another bolt into the Hunter's Crossbow and fired again at Docken attempting to score a hit on his opponent's tempting upper shoulder blade from the back row.
  21. Noting the bowman's strategic positioning, Skrall shoulders his crossbow and fires off a shot at Docken from the back row with his Hunter's Crossbow, attempting to hit the ranger in his seemingly unprotected lower areas.
  22. Since when do rogues get extra skill points in botany
  23. Wow! I definately missed that, I was considering Hunter as an intermediary class before Skrall's final choice of an advanced class, but now the Hunter has garnered a second look from me.
  24. It actually does not come into effect at all during the arena battle, the shield rolls have been tweaked (see the first post of the arena thread ) though I am slightly disappointed that Hunter's no longer get their mark of the favored If this were a real quest the Hunter would do triple damage until either shield was rolled again or till the end of the battle. On another note, I know that during Zepher's last quest that he let free hit's do at least 1 damage against heroes with shields to prevent them from camping, but what is the consensus on making that a general rule at least as far as free hits are concerned. Though it may be necessary to make that a rule for regular damage rolls as well given that Brick Doctor can basically go up against a level 30 enemy and only have to worry about special damages or effects. I'm fine with how the upcoming arena battle is going to work and don't want to change the rule midway to help me (I'm doing it more for role-playing anyways) but I am theorizing for what may occur further down the line in other quests.
  25. OoC: No problem then, it will build up the tension. Skrall smoothly worked a bolt into the groove of his crossbow as he wondered how fast the other ranger was with his shield.
