  1. It's slowed down a bit as of late, I'm hoping that around the 1 year aniversary we'll get another front page feature that will bring in another wave of players, but I'm happy that we have this many people involved already.
  2. Actually considering how easy it is to QM level 1's, we'd be a sought after commodity.
  3. That actually might be fun, though I'd miss Skrall. He's eventually going to leave, but I want to finish his character arc first.
  4. "Yes the two chaps, or chapesses, or whatever they may be, hail from Carthago and are Lucustoids. They're a bit hard on the dialect and they have a few eccentricities given their race, but they are some of the brightest minds from that part of the world."
  5. Quite a bit has already been said about Dastan in that topic's thread already, which is why Byblos hasn't answered that question before, just read a few pages earlier.
  6. "Very well, we shall bear the letter with us then. If everyone else is all set, then lead the way Admiral Thraune."
  7. I'm sure he would just reroll a new character once he returned from the quest. An interesting choice indeed and it would lend itself to always having new characters being introduced in the hall. If anyone's interested I've got a whole party of characters already built if you're thinking about rerolling: minotaur knight, werewolf cleric, dwarven rogue, metasimian ranger, half-troll barbarian, and rockling pyromancer.
  8. "What are we to do with the rebels once we have caught up with them, I am sure if they prove difficult we will have no choice end their lives, but are there any of the higher ups you want brought back for some sort of tribunal or another? The question is the same should the spy move against us while we are in Dastan, I assume ya want them brought back for questioning? Furthermore do the rebels know that you will be sending an army after them, or will our presence be unexpected? Finally I'm assuming you've already made contact with the emperor of Dastan concerning our arrival, but is there anything we should know or have in our possession to ensure the validity of our mission to him should it be necessary? I think once we've got some answers to these questions, we should be ready to head out." Skrall turned to his companions, "Once we get on the boat there are a few manners we need to discuss in private."
  9. Thanks Kadabra. Do you really plan on restarting with a new character if Arasmyth is KO'd?
  10. "The machine had been setup the morning of the demonstration and either myself, Szalinski, or one of the other scientists was always there. The machine had been stored at Szalinski's place and I established the detection wards myself. I may be something of a rejected hydromancer, but I can still pull off a reasonable alert spell now and then."
  11. Skrall continued the conversation in hushed tones, "He may be of a sour disposition my friend, but I believe when the time comes and action is called for, his lack of refinement will be overshadowed by his calmness in a dire situation. Besides as I have said, I would rather face treachery holding a sword in front of me than risk treachery with a knife behind me. We shall send the archers with them just in case and hope that we are yet able to accomplish our own task, though I fear of spreading ourselves too thin that we are unable to achieve our purpose on any front." Skrall turned to Sir Leonard, "We are of the opinion that you should send Sir Leofard as the commander and adviser to the emperor, but send along a small detachment of expert crossbowman to deal with any insurgence that may arise while we are away rounding up the rebels."
  12. I love it when I reference stuff I wasn't intending to. No the system among some of the mages have been to classify themselves utilizing the suffix "-mancer" possibly taken from the word "necromancer" or as it would seem Erfworld. Hence we have geomancers (earth), areomancers (wind), pyromancers (fire), hydromancers (water), herbamancers (plant), etc.. @xxlrocka, you should read Quest 17 when Arasmyth had the Hilariously Drunk effect.
  13. "Sem? Oh you must mean Tarnash, not unless he wished us to default on our loan," Balthazar chuckled. "Tarnash works for one of the more refined lending institutions in Eubric, we haggled over interest amounts for a week or so but he had us in a tight place so we eventually conceeded to his opinion in the matter."
  14. "Anything is possible, most of us were intent upon Szalinski during his demonstration, though I did make sure none of the Ziegfrieds were on the guest list anyways, we've shared some unpleasantries in the past you might say."
  15. Skrall whispered back to Arthur inconspicuously, "That is my point, I would rather have a treacherous fool to have the emperor's ear than one who knows what to do with it. As far my past experience, everything was too convenient for the fake Felton, the town guard trusted him for some reason and when we learned of the doubles everything added up. It had been the fake Felton that had summoned the chaos beasts all the while, I had just never figured out how he did it. If no one interjects then I believe that I am going to choose Sir Leofard."
  16. Nur's search earns him a disapproving look from his companions. The staff is found to be tipped with a flawless Aquamarine while the helm and spear appear to be from an ancient time period indicated by their markings. Opening the chest, Nur finds a collection of lamps similar to the one on Balthazar's desk, Nur secrets one away and closes the chest. Aquamarine Lamp of Summoning: The hero may summon a Jinn of the water creature type to fight with and be controlled by the hero for the duration of 1 battle, this item may not be upgraded and only 1 summon may be controlled by a hero at any time. Summon: Aquamarine Jinn Type: Aquatic Monster Power: 10 (Water elemental) Health: 25 of 25 *Roll of Critical Hit: Jinn strikes with 2x its power **Roll of Shield: Jinn protects itself and the summoner from all damage the next round (status effects due to special damage rolls still apply) "Weapons, do I look like a blacksmith? Those are merely relics from the Orcish Wars, collectibles at best. The plant is a potted miniature mantrap from my son-in-law an herbamancer who lives near the Kalma Marshlands. As far as a machine for detecting, you would be better served talking to an inventor or an engineer rather than a hydromancer." "Correct. As I said, Master Swisshopper is something of an entrepreneur and Gurnam well, he said something about turning over a new leaf or another. We have practically garnered support from all greatest and brightest within Eubric including the houses excluding the Ziegfrieds that is." The Party: Bartholomew Docken, Level 20.67 Warden (Brick Doctor) *Party Leader* *Scary* Power: 29 Health: 39/39 Defense: 15 Gold: 25 (50 Gold loaned to Arthur Justus Regulus VII [Flipz]) Inventory: Briar Bow (WP: 9; Wood Elemental), Mockthril Longbow (WP: 5), Mythril Shield (SP: 15), Dread Hat (enemies lower than half of wearer's Level won't attack directly), Bedroll, Mead, Venom, Smoke Bomb, Potions (5) Haldor Skovgaard, Level 17 Shaman (Scorpiox) Power: 29, Health: 34/34 Ether: 20/24 Gold: 124 Inventory: Heavy Metal Rod (WP:12), Lesser Ethereal Cloak (SP:+1, +3 Ether), Paper Doll (Hexed immunity) Spike Coller (+1 power), Diamond of Thoric (Light Elemental), Frying Pan (WP:1+1 health), Shovel, Pickaxe, Potion (x2), Remedy, Tonic, Mead, Venom, and a fur-lined Bedroll, Scroll of Blindness, Bear Claw Gloves (WP:7, SP:2, non-upgradable SP) Jess Islanti, Level 17 Assassin (Sisco) Power: 27 (+2) Health: 28/28(+1) Gold: 285 Inventory: Blohdhurm (WP: 9)(Fire elemental), Mercutio's Dagger of Mugging (WP:5, Mug Ability +5), 2 Venoms, Mead, Smelling Salts, 2 Remedies Lord Lawrence Boomingham, Level 16 Paladin (Zepher) Power: 27 (+3) Health: 30/30 (-6) Ether: 16/16 Gold: 12 Inventory: King of the Desert (Longsword) (WP: 9, Fire Darkness), Frozen Saber (WP: 9, stunned effect, Light) Shaduex Shield (SP: 5), Thorny Diadem (+3 to power, but -6 to maximum health) 3 Potions, 1 Grand Potion, Bedroll, 5 Bones, 2 Holy bombs, 2 Meads, 1 Nostrum, 1 Phoenix essence, Pick-axe, 1 Jo-no Tree seed En Sabah Nur, Level 16 Sorcerer (Jebediahs) *Lucky* Power: 28 Health: 25/25 (23+1) Ether: 9/20 Gold: 163 Equipped: Inventory: Stealth Dagger (WP: 12), Helmet (+1 HP), Loaded Die (Lucky effect),Garnet Gem (Earth), Aquamarine (Water), En, Sabah, Nur (Shurikens 3/3, WP: 5), 4 Potions, Grand Tonic, 2 Phoenix Essence, Remedy, Smoke Bomb, Bedroll, Scroll of Sealing, Scroll of Blindness, Scroll of Confusion, Sangriste Dagger (WP: 5), Aquamarine Lamp of Summoning
  17. Skrall nodded to both gentlemen after listening to Sir Leonard's introductions, "Good day to ya sirs. I'm sure either of ya would be more than competent fer the position as you would not be here otherwise. Tell me, I'm sure the Emperor will have many at his side trying to gain his ear some to our own harm, how do either of you intend to ensure that our interests are always at the forefront of his mind?" Skrall quietly commented to Arthur, "Hah! Remember lad, yer askin' an ex-highway-ogre to judge the character of two noble knights. I'm more fer the elder knight to be in command. Fancy talk is all well and good, but when it comes to gettin' somethin' done I'd rather have a man of action. Plus, if there is treachery afoot, I'd rather it be found in the brash arrogance of the bull oliphant, than the silver tongued cunning of the serpent."
  18. Well there goes my chance at Skrall ever becoming a Warden.
  19. Yeh I just thought of that and corrected it, makes me sad, though it's more accurate to Skrall's character to have the tracking ability over animal talk.
  20. Skrall turned his attention for a moment to the horse, <A good afternoon to you, has your journey been one of great length?> Edit: Scratch that, just found out Hunter's no longer have the animal talk ability. Skrall again responded to the armored lady, "Tell me, mam, what became of the Chimera? You said it was overcome, I'm assuming you meant slain?"
  21. Or they could have lynched you and then found out you were telling the truth and then lynched Aladdin, again it comes to the lack of knowledge either way after that day was finished.
  22. Not necessarily, I think it came more down to not being able to reach a conviction on one of the last days I forgot to mention how beautiful the scenes and characters were Sandy, you did an excellent job
  23. It's unavoidable, but one can still try to abstain at least from the Quest topics.
  24. Well done to the scum team, you really had the town in the dark for most of the time and I look forward to playing with some of you as well as your town counterparts in an advanced game. I think this is a valuable lesson of why you don't play the game in the discussion thread
  25. I think you're fine with Shadeaux funding the pirates against the Hinckwells, just keep in mind that the Hinckwells are probably doing the same thing too. Like Sandy said it's not good versus evil, some would even say it seems like evil versus evil some of the time. I would suggest you can have the Shadeaux sponsors of the privateers but not be directly involved in the conflict.
