  1. Quick I found the first scum, he's leading a bandwagon even before the game begins.
  2. That's fine, consider my resignation, unresignated.
  3. If we're going to start within a week from now, then I'm good, but if things aren't starting for another 2 or 3 weeks, I won't. So if they're almost set then consider me reinstated.
  4. After further consideration, I'm going to have to pull my application, as I unfortunately do not have enough time available to devote to the game as I first thought. I'll eagerly watch from the side lines and cheer on the town as always. Sorry.
  5. I completely agree with that a hero should reap the benefits from pouring money into high SP, however it is hard to provide challanges that are balanced when a hero has incredibly high SP. Take Docken for instance, with an SP 15 shield, it requires a level 31 enemy to do even 1 point of damage against him (provided he is fighting from the back row, which as a Warden I would expect of him) and he has 41 health. Now generally a level 31 enemy is going to slaughter other Party members so it is hardly fair for them. One could argue that a QM should just create monsters that ignore SP, but in order to prevent each battle from being reduced to Docken fighting while everyone sits out, one has to include that type of monster in almost every battle, however doing this prevents Docken from ever benefiting from upgrading his shield. Thus it is difficult to have swarms of low level enemies, because even if the rest of the Party is knocked out due to free hits, the player with high SP (or a dread hat ) can ignore it all and keep on fighting. It's a tricky thing, as I'm sure Zepher, myself, and other QM's can attest to. I think it will eventually work itself out when people start having higher health so we don't have to worry about knocking out the rest of the Party with Docken's or any player with high SP's enemies.
  6. "Why not, but as I said proceed with caution these things have a way of turning even the best of friends into enemies." Skrall picked up the orb and stared long and hard into its inky blackness, but after receiving no inspiration, returned it to his pocket.
  7. "Thank ya Cronk, I've seen the contention those things can cause already. Nearly caused Tensi the barbarian to have Hoke Ablesword's head on a platter on an earlier quest. No, I don't expect I'll be holdin' on to it fer very long, sooner or later those things have a way of findin' whom they will serve. Keep that in mind young Regulus, if that thing starts pullin' on ya, best hand it back, I wouldn't want it causin' any ill effects on ya."
  8. The orb gently rolls toward Arthur seemingly of its own will for the time being, "Careful Arthur I've seen this happen before..."
  9. Skrall's concentration on the black orb was broken as Cronk approached him. "It was uneventful, gave the Party plenty of time to rest up I think. Can't complain though, the money was good, speakin' of which here's the 100 Gold I owe ya for that Heavy Crossbow, got to see a bit of action, even if there was a lot of death and destruction, and I think it was a good experience for some of the newer members of the Hall. I take it yer Party made it back in one piece as well?"
  10. Skrall opened his eyes, he had dozed off for a few minutes, his pipe having gone out in the meantime. He sluggishly made his way down the stairs after ordering a brace of pheasants for when he returned. His eyes lingered on the notices. "Wren," he thought to himself as he eyed the first, "no to soon, there isn't anything to be gained going after her fer the time being to wait. Hmmm... Town watch in need again? Figures, though seems like they've gotten themselves a new captain, perhaps this one is a bit more reasonable." Skrall afixed his name under the sign-ups for Quest 40: The Strivvian Job. Skrall returned to his table to wait for his pheasant, as he sat there he pulled out the Zoot's plaything. He stared long and hard at the obsidian orb, to think such a small thing could be the cause of great contention among others. Skrall glanced around the hall, his mage acquaintances didn't seem to be present as neither Nur nor Arthur were currently in the room. Noticing the rogue Atramor dealing with Namyrra, he called over to him, "When yer finished with yer transaction, ya mind sharin' a pint or two?"
  11. I'm really not going to get any sleep now. 1. What is your favorite FABULAND set? #3643-1 Police Van, it comes with the figure that I played as in my first EB mafia game. 2. What is your favorite EB Mafia moment? Hands down, Stumpy's reveal of Scuba as a scummy in Bob's recent Excalibur 2.0. It's the only time in my EB mafia experience I can remember actually being giddy over what happened. 3. What is your favorite acronym? S.H.I.E.L.D if there was ever a group that needed one, it was them.
  12. One of the best responses I have seen in a while and it is really worth reading in its entirety. This really helps define Nerwen's philosophy, well done Chromeknight.
  13. Either Harkenshire, or the nameless Imperial Pikeman that Skrall kept stealing a helmet from.
  14. Somewhere wandering around Dastan is William the Imperial Pikeman who has a hole in the top of his helmet from when Skrall borrowed it on several occasions to use as a speaking trumpet when in the large scale battles.
  15. Skrall made his way into the hall, he passed by the quest board littered with notices, he would take care of that later in the evening. Finding an open table, the Ogre sat himself down it groned a little less than it had previously, he must have lost some weight on the voyage back to Uland. He ordered a tankard of ale from Scherehazade and smiled to the bar maid as she brought it over. Taking a draft from the refreshment, he fished out his old ram's horn pipe, lit its contents, and leaned back against one of the supporting posts, closing his eyelids as the conversations past and present intermingled with his thoughts of home, wren, the dead Lyonel, and the many people he had either met or disposed of.
  16. Everybody else gets to name their fancy sword why not me.
  17. Actually it's the other way around, Zepher implemented it in Quest 19 to keep Tensi in check and I continued the tradition when it came to you and I fully agree with Sandy in that my next quest with advanced classes is going to be a nightmare as far as battles are concerned now that I know what is possible considering the epic climax of the Dastan Trilogy.
  18. Thanks to all the QM's you did a marvelous job, I'm not a big fan of railroading as I've already mentioned, but I think you did a good job of handeling it none the less. This was a great opportunity to expand who Skrall is, especially with his aquiring Leojagd as well as his interactions with Arthur, Alexandre, and Isabella. I really liked getting to play Luke and would like to have a shot at developing him some more as I believe he is quite a unique character. Overall the battles were great, the drops excellent, and the pace just right. Keep up the good work.
  19. Has/Does anyone utilize POVRAY for their quests, the examples on the front page look amazing and though I enjoy physically building my sets, the unlimitted number of pieces when going digital is rather tempting.
  20. "Very well, I will keep my eyes and ears open for news of this Baron Lueius, perhaps it shall find its final resting place there. Until that day I will see to it that it is born as effetively as it once was. If there is nothing else that you would have of us, my companions and I will take our leave."
  21. I totally agree, building for quests is much different than regular MOC'ing in that you're building for the camera shot, it makes you look at pieces in a whole new light. For instance when a polar bear's head was included in a tavern, it looks amazing in the photo of the interior, but if you were to photo the rest of the MOC it would look rather strange.
  22. "And you shall have it my good sir," Luke passed Alexandre back his bedroll and gave Arthur's his staff. "If you are confident you are able to do the hard things now, then take it Arthur and may the heavens show you their blessings in the path you choose to take. Remember to find the enjoyment from the things that you gladly do and set your mind to accomplish the tasks that are pains for you. Fare thee well." Luke joined the Count as the heroes prepare to take their leave. Skrall approached Leonard withdrawing Leojagd from its scabbard, "Sir Leonard, this blade belonged to the lady Leofwena, with it she aided the rebelion that ultimately lead to slaying of many a brave lion knight including the young Sir Lyonel. I leave it to you whether you wish to retain the blade in hopes of a more noble host, but if you so choose, I will carry this sword in remberence of those who fell on that dark day and would never achieve all that life had yet to satisfy them with."
  23. Which is why I decided that it wouldn't make sense for Skrall to give him one. I value subtle role-playing more than straight on asking for an item.
  24. Syntax reminds me a lot of Richard from the web series "Looking for Group" you should give it a read at some point. At least that aspect of Sorrow's personality would get a kick out of it.
