  1. Skrall hammered his greatsword into the shield of the knight as he fell back from his onslaught. Skrall took a moment to pause as he surveyed the battle field. Nerwens restoring song still drifted across the hot air, as Xander recovered from his show of ferocity. "Keep at 'em, don't let 'em slip past ya. Luke hold yer ground for the moment and make sure everyone remains standin'." Battle Order: Cronk Arthur Isabella Denarii Alexandre Skrall Xander Tarn Edgar Sarick De'Kra Nyx Nerwen Luke Atramor
  2. Well it's been along day, most of it getting us nowhere, but I think we'll have to bring it to a close at some point. But first let me, vote: Lieutenant Williams (Swils). Now why you may ask. Well first off Wheeler's role-claim was a sting (I know I think we're all stinged out for the rest of this voyage) he never was a tracker. We used his claim result to gather statements/reactions from both you Williams, and Harper. If Harper was a dumb scum he would have role-claimed and we would have had him, unfortunately he did not and responded in either a townie or a smart scum way by claiming vanilla and that Wheeler had to be lying. This reaction paired with Hornby's interactions with him, his own private transmissions, our investigation results, and yes my own post analysis method, have convinced me that Williams is a better choice for today. Williams, you have to understand that the accusation is being placed on you not because we caught you as scum, it is that you are the only one who has not been "caught" as town. Process of elimination, old chap, and you are one of the final if not the most simplist variables that needs testing.
  3. We have a list of the night actions and they match up with people's actions including those on the town block and in accordance with Tammo's blocking pattern, we've also got the point that two scum wanted him killed, so I can agree that he might be a neutral, however the town's job is not to get rid of neutrals but to finish off the scum and your lying about not having an action is only convinced me more.
  4. Alright after a long back and forth with Wheeler, I've been convinced that his results make sense and taking into account the investigation results we have thus far, it appears that this makes the most logical sense. We know that Wheeler had a lynch set in stone against him by 2 scum so he has basicallly been verified, in addition to lining up with my statement analysis.
  5. OoC: Fixed. "Luke make sure ya don't squish the spider who's attackin' the same guard as ya."
  6. Sorry folks we're trying to straighten out something behind the scenes, that may catch us the last scum if it is true.
  7. "Now where was I, oh yes the chap that was trying to call for back up." As things were a bit tight Skrall unsheathed the Greatsword of Lion Nobles and assulted Lord Lamorak from the front row taking care not to decapitate any of his fellow heroes. "Ms. Nyx, perhaps you could have that spider of yers take care of that rather weak looking pikeman. Luke, deal with that same chap the guard with the 'D' emblazened on his uniform from the front row." Battle Order: Denarii Alexandre Xander Tarn Skrall Nyx Edgar Atramor Sarick Count Knyghton Nerwen Luke Isabella Cronk Arthur
  8. Zepher excellent job I believe Scorpiox will have an Embassy Topic covering all the Races as soon as I'm finished with the actual MOC, though it would be interesting to see an article on how the Races have been portrayed/evolved throughout the onset of Heroica RPG.
  9. "Luke be a good chap and try and get the Count patched up." Skrall commented as he took a pot shot at Lion Commander B from the back row with his Hunter's Crossbow. Battle Order: Isabella Cronk Arthur Luke Nerwen Denarii Sarick Nyx Tarn De'Kra Count Knyghton Alexandre Skrall Atramor Xander
  10. Red vs. Blue all over again sounds like the pirates forum. If anyone is interested in pursuing the Order of the Crimson Crown they are free to role those in to a league of Assassins. I considered doing something along a thieves guild or assassin's guild but it's kind of an overused clishe.

  12. "I think the Rogue may have a point, we'll continue south, but once we reach our destination we can try firing a few vollies at 'em. The power behind our shots may be reduced, but it would be like shooting fish in a barrel." Skrall continued to bring up the rear while Luke led the way further south his diamond radiating with a warm white light.
  13. Thanks Sandy and KimT for organizing and providing prizes for the raffle, it really helped to stimulate and excite us as a community.
  14. "My good chap, I don't believe his spell will take effect till the next round a little afterwards."
  15. OoC: Actually I think it was determined that a smoke bomb only allows a party to move without taking free hits, we still need to spend our turn to move, but we don't take the free hits. "Luke, it looks like we're packin' up follow me." With that Skrall holstered his crossbow, sheathed his greatsword and moved south bringing up the rear of the Party, his great bulk blocking any unwarrented attacks from behind as Alexandre's smoke bomb covered the room in a thick dark haze. Luke led the way, his diamond piercing the blackness as he moved south. Battle Order: Alexandre Skrall Nyx Atramor Tarn Luke Count Knyghton Sarick De'Kra Nerwen Denarii Xander Isabella Cronk Arthur
  16. *Boohyah* Alright, so Wilder has someone who is claiming to have taken out Van-what's his name, which moves us ahead on finally narrowing down the list of suspects. Which leads me to the below, I've gone over all my notes and taking into account the latest proceedings, I believe our very own Lieutenant Francis to be one of the last remaining scum. Yes, yes, I know you are all going to say "but he was on your list of confirmed townies" well sometimes lists can be wrong and deceiving, ask Wilder for once. Reviewing the contributions made by the Lieutenant, I can say that of all those left unaccounted for he has contributed the least, let's just take a look shall we? Day 1: That fateful quote referencing the wise words of Gordon, which we would later see during again during day 6. Gordon goes on to accuse Francis of mimicking him, but their whole discussion is rather lack-luster and the debate between Gordon and Mandel begins letting Francis sink back into the back-ground. As has been brought up by esteemed members of this crew, scum will talk to each-other and even accuse each-other and I believe this to be a prime example, quick non-threatening and ultimately distracting. A long way of saying that he's going along with the current bandwagon along with known scum, Gordon and Rockford. Day 2: Summerizing everything that had happened up until that point, nothing more nothing less. I think we all know how scum like to pad their posts. The expected bandwagon vote. Day 3: It's just been suggested earlier today, so I took it into account. Personally I agree with you, a serial killer seems unlikely. I suspect a very strong scum team. A quick opening possibly misleading suggestion followed by an immediate turn around, junior scum move in my eyes. Another jump onto the bandwagon. Day 4: The usual day opening with nothing unique to add. References York's failed sting operation, but nothing new to add. Expected vote against Gordon. Day 5: Showed up just to jump on the bandwagon. Day 6: The usual, blah blah about how we aren't doing well. Decides not to come out with his suspicions, the least he could have done is deliver them to a relatively confirmed townie, the vig for instance (I'm not sure if he did or not), my guess is he's trying to look busy. Joining Vanderbilt in asking for how Dragonator and CJP got on my list, I think we've seen this mimicry before maybe in the first few posts of day 1? At this point in the day Hornby had already achieved his majority to be lynched (including Vanderbilt) so there was no risk to spreading out the scum vote, see how day 1 is a prime example of the scum not being afraid to spread their vote. Day 7: I addressed the folley of this attitude in my reply to Vanderbilt but it seems like you can't tell a scum not to act like a scum. To sum it up, all our Lieutenant Francis has been up to is stating his shock at how badly we are doing in the morning, following up with a comment during mid-day that really doesn't tell us anything we don't already know or piggy-backing on someone else's logic including known scum, and jumping on almost every single bandwagon against people who have turned up as town. If you have theories you could at least stated them earlier, this town needs people who are working together not just trying to survive and with those who are currently left, I find it hard to believe that you have been working with anybody and are more than likely a scum who has attempted to hide under the radar. Vote: Lieutenant Francis (AwesomeStar)
  17. "We already wayin' anchor rogue?" Skrall takes his finger off the trigger of his crossbow. "Might make sense to assemble ourselves in the main entryway, but the rest of the villians are probably goin' to converge on us there anyways."
  18. OoC: Scratch that, you already posted and everything is as I would have done it, did you roll for Isabella's lucky status? Skrall joined the group of heroes taking care not to step on what looked like a summoned spider, "Good day to you all. I hoped you saved some for me and Sarick. Mr. Alexandre, good to see you still kickin', if ya don't mind me sayin' so, I think ya'd best be suited keepin' that XX chap busy from the back row, while Ms. Nyx sets about to knockin' the blocks off of the rest of the company. Now let's see..." before Skrall can decide upon a target, he spots aspies Sir Lamorak calling another Lion Commander in, "Well we don't want ya callin' for any more help, now do we?" Skrall mumbles to himself before quickly unholstering his Hunter's Crossbow and firing a shot off at the knight from the back row.
  19. I have to agree with Scorpiox about the all caps, use it sparingly for effect, it would add a lot more emphasis to his speech. I know you were going for a lycanthrope, but I would have personally waited for his change to occur once he hit beast warrior (I'm assuming that is the expert class you had in mind?), it would have been so awesome for you to keep hinting at it until it finally came about as a climax during a battle, but this would require patience and is really role-playing for the long haul. I would vary up your threats, most of them feel somewhat generic, i.e. family, limbs, torture worse than death, no most of your horrific villians are going to come up with the same lines. The bit about passing on the lycanthropy made it unique so good job with that, keep up with that sort of stuff. Aim for the unique, but don't go over-board into the graphic, utilize the little non-verbal actions, i.e. "Lycan dipped his head as his muzzle sniffed the man, the smell of a preditor wetting it's appetite with the aroma of its prey.". Remember don't go for the big and cheesy, take your time, you don't want to give everything away at once, we shouldn't be able to read what sort of person Lycan is during his lycanthropy, or out of it, from just one paragraph. Patience is the key.
  20. Also, lovely quest Zepher and a good job to Adam and S&C. I agree that I would have like to have seen a slightly longer quest, maybe one more battle and a puzzle, but that's my own opinion and you are an excellent QM so I know you meant well. I am interested to see how you tie in the new NPC's but am sure that it will be fantastic however you do it.
  21. It really depends upon how many other battles you are planning on your PC's encountering prior to the boss, also it depends upon if they will be fighting the boss alone or if it will have minions. I generally have special damages and drops planned for my enemies and then adjust the stats of them according to the situation and how the party is doing and whether I want a particular battle to be challenging, a walk in the park, rewarding, worthless, etc... So yeah there isn't really a formula to go by and I find it's generally not the best to have all your details set in stone. When you are creating an enemy some things to keep in mind are: Party's current health Number of Party members Party's current combined level Party's SP Party's ether levels Party's inventories Relevence to the plot of your quest Risk (defeat) vs. Reward (drops)
  22. I never considered all the details about them when creating them, I'll try and give my thoughts on each of your questions. Smelling salts count as a liquid, basically any restoritive/effect engaging/stat boosting consumable, this would include pheonix essences, poisons, and yes smelling salts. Yes I would rule that if you wanted to use an item stored in a hollow blade, you would have to use that weapon during that turn. You can use the item before or afterwards. It also takes 1 turn to place an item in a hollow blade or remove it during a battle. How does this sound to everybody?
  23. Giving up becomes more of a townie tell however as time goes on and the scum are whittled down. They know how many of them are left and how important it is that they keep their numbers up for the final few days, I don't think one would just give up and die like that. Like you said the day has a set length and I'd rather promote discussion than stifle it with a bandwagon, Wheeler can defend himself when shows up and then I'll decide whether he's worth pursuing or not, until then I'm focusing my effort on making sure we've covered all our bases. If you'd like to help that would be great.
  24. Yes, but if we all bandwagon early that kills discussion and no-one is willing to bring forth new ideas because they think the lynch canadite has been selected and they don't want to stick their neck out on the line for fear of being silenced by the scum. Realistically if Wheeler was scum I would have expected more of a fight instead of a bandwagon. We are getting down to the final days upon this ship and the scum know how close the numbers are and what it would mean to lose one of their own due to a lynch and potentially a vig kill tonight.
  25. This is as bad as a day 1. I'm fine with voting Wheeler in the end if we can't find anything else, but seriously there has to be something out there and I don't think trying to bring this day to a quick end just so we can get back to the night phase and depend upon our night action is utilizing our time wisely. Each of us true townies has a responsibility to take everything that has been said into account and not just go with the flow, letting PR's take the helm though I am grateful that they have done so in order to lead us to victories over the scum thus far. Thus I am going to unvote: Lieutenant Wheeler (Inconspicuous), until I have made sure there is nothing else we are missing.
