  1. Interesting project. Are you going to do all the bodywork with system bricks/plates/tiles ? Is there any chance of switching the wheels and tyres? If you’re doing retro it would look so much more authentic with older tyres
  2. @Jim and @Milan are there any plans to get this on the front page?
  3. @Erik Leppen I made a spreadsheet and did Yes/No/Maybes. The found I had 10 Yes responses so then compared them 1 by one eg 1 to 2, 1 to 3, 2 to 3, etc and this gave me my ranking to select my top 6. The comparison ranking method is something we use at work to help select and score concepts.
  4. 4: 10 27: 6 22: 4 44: 3 17: 2 42: 1 Here’s my votes after a good Spreadsheet :) Some great entries covering a wide range of models, it’s opened my eyes more to my Dark Ages and some models I missed. Good to see how some people approached the same model from different directions, Good luck to all.
  5. This is going to be one of the great TC competitions. 44 entries at the moment and some great variation of old Technic and System. Going to be tough choosing just 6 entries. Might have to create a spreadsheet for my scoring 🤣
  6. In the end i decided that just adding the seats and modernising the functions was as far as I wanted to go. I thought about making the cab tip or adding a fake engine, but space and connections are very limited and o felt if I kept on tweaking I’d make a model worse. An engineer always needs to realise when to stop tweaking (I often have to tell my team that). But if you’d like the stud.io file of my model you’re welcome, just PM me. I’m not skilled enough like @Thirdwigg to make instructions.
  7. @1gor - I’m not to sure whether to take that as a compliment 😆 I just decided early on to remake one of my original Technic sets (I still have them all, sadly no boxes though) and 8848 was my favourite. @Thirdwigg’s 8854 is yet another model from my Dark Ages, in fact lots of entries are, and I was never aware of this. I’m just loving the variety in all the models and finding some “new” old models I hadn’t been aware of before.
  8. I assume you’re making a no 6 sticker for the front (having looked at the images of the original). Don’t take too long though, the entries close tonight/some point tomorrow when Jim and Milan get round to it
  9. I’m not aware of the original but do like your modern kart. Why would you not enter it? A few people have done similar. I assume you’ve physically built it too as all your photos look like renders and the competition requires it to be a physical build
  10. Perhaps it’s not a recolour but instead it’s a modern 500?
  11. Have to agree with you @Jim a lot of great entries. Going to be difficult to select my top 6. It’s also opened my eyes to what would have been my ‘dark ages’ of when I gave up Lego and found a ZX Spectrum as a kid. I then didn’t exit my dark ages until 2006, it was a long dark ages!
  12. @RuTechBrothers I assume you mean surfboard and not torpedo. Last time I checked VW Camper vans aren’t maritime warfare vessels. model looks great, definitely recognisable
  13. So glad you gave the gigafig a face. such a great model, glad you ditched the lights on the buggy. I may need to ask for instructions when I get round to building my 1979 Space collection next year for this to go with it. It’ll definitely win on the “cool” vote for me so you’ll be somewhere in the top models I vote for.
  14. I don’t see any issues with those panels on the front, they don’t have studs so they’re studless. Remember it has to be primarily studless if we fully adhered to the rules of not using anything from the studded era we’d have to remove any even length black axle, bush pieces, various pins, just to name a few. I class this as a valid entry so far and love it
  15. Buggy and figure look great but I’d ditch the yellow lights I think they’re an addition you don’t need
  16. Great little RC model of such a classic military vehicle. But you’ve got the name the wrong way round it’s a Willys Jeep, not a Jeep Willys. Willys was one of the 2 company’s making them, the other being Ford.
  17. Why would they not. They’re not a studded panel, they may be from the transition era from studded to studless but I don’t see why they’re not valid.
  18. Great use of the wheel arch piece to make the roof shape. Loving how it’s progressing so far
  19. Unfortunately I’m Mac based and found LDD no longer worked on my Mac so switched to Stud.io. it’s very similar in lots of ways and I’ve got a lot more proficient with time. One tip is to use temporary pins and axle pins to connect/position parts and add the axles as the last step
  20. I often do a combination of physical build and stud.io. I use physical building for testing mechanisms are working how I expect them to. I use Stud.io to work out how to connect structures as you can chance them quickly. But I also build my Stud.io creations as physical builds during the whole creation process to check the model connects together properly and is stiff enough. I’ve found a few times I’ve built floating structures in stud.io and I didn’t realise till I’d built it physically.
  21. I have to say I love all these, Zombie Cap, Cap Carter and Falcon Cap are the standout figs for me. Having not bought many CMF figures before what’s the best way to get a full set in the UK? Are there any reputable sellers of sets? Or is the best way to buy a whole box, which I assume would have at least one of each fig? And if so how do you buy a whole box?
  22. Just seen this thread after seeing your post in the entry thread. Can you switch the red and green lights it’s just doing my engineering OCD in as they’re the wrong way round. All water and air craft have red on the left / port and green in the right / starboard. Other than that issue it’s a great model you’ve made
  23. I’m still undecided on this set, to me the length of it just looks odd with the size of wheels. Does anyone know if it’s possible to shorten the whole model reducing the rear bed length and shortening the wheelbase by the same amount? Or is all the space between the axles limited by mechanisms, motors etc
  24. @Shumo Lego I think you need to resize your images they look large and distorted on my browser. Please check the guidelines for posting images. I think 1024 is the image size. Something like Flickr should help post correct size images
