[REVIEW] 42130 - BMW M1000RR K66
Seasider replied to Milan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Just read your review @Milan and then jumped onto YouTube to watch RacingBricks review. This set is HUGE ! And although I prefer 4 wheels to 2 I just love this, definitely need it to go with the “ucs” supercars. I wonder how expensive those shocks are going to be with the fake blue springs as they’d look great on lots of models. 2022 might be an expensive year for Lego for me, with this and sets from other themes ! -

I hope someone can do some photos of it next to the Ducati or one of the UCS super cars for a size comparison -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Seasider replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I don’t think I’ll get the SLS Rocket but the Lunar Base and Rover would look great next to my Classic Space collection -
Great competition @Jim but I’m going to sit this one out. We became puppy-parents 2 weeks ago and she’s taking all our time so Lego building has gone the same way as watching tv (out of the window). Also this year we plan to be away seeing family lots this Christmas after it wasn’t allowed last year for us. looking forward to seeing what you all come up with. For me it’ll be interesting to see how different you can make the before and after look.

Thanks for the review @Jim. I do think it’s strange TLG have released this way before the film is out. The film got delayed till March 2022 in the U.K. so it seems odd to release this so early. don’t think I’ll buy the set as I’ve not bought any of the others at this scale and I don’t own any of the other batmobiles … the Burton Batmobile is “my” batmobile, but then it all depends on ages and association I guess. But I am looking forward to seeing “The Batman”. in terms of parts so is this a new smaller steering wheel? And do those black wheelarches work with the wheel arch extensions from the Raptor? I get confused with all the various arch sizes!

F1 Front Wing
Seasider replied to Asher's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think @Jurss is along the right lines. I think you’d end up with something built with skinning parts like ninjago swords mounted in some form of system built endplate. far too a fine detailed structure to be Technic built I think -
Generic Contest Discussion
Seasider replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Jim hasn’t discounted a GBC competition, he’s just said that him and Milan aren’t the right people to host the competition as they don’t have the knowledge. He’s repeatedly said if people want a GBC competition then someone from the GBC community should run it. If I was part of that community (but I’m not) I’d start a thread to gather interested names and see if anyone was willing to run a competition. -

@Jim so a transformers / transforming competition … as some have mentioned you’ll need to make sure the rules make it clear that you’re not after a M.A.S.K. transformation but something else instead. So I guess cars into planes like “AirCar” or as you say a vehicle into a robot. I’d love to take part in this but think my gears knowledge will let me down, along with my small collection one PF motors … although I do have an Sbrick. Also another limitation is we’re picking up a puppy next weekend, so my spare time will be disappearing ! But it still sounds like a cool competition and I’d love to see the results. -
Loving following the progress both in the build and your thoughts on this. Also your final sentence made me smile, in English I’d use the phrase it “snowballs throughout …” but the use of cauliflower is great as you can immediately picture it. I might use it at some point as I love using quirky language

It depends on what I’m building. I often physically build small sub-models to test mechanisms. For TC20 a lot of it was done digitally, then going to physical to check it all hangs together properly. For some of the past competitions I’ve done pure physical build and then built digitally at the end so I have a record of what I made. But most of the builds I do now are definitely digital based. I find it allows me to position mechanisms or parts where I want them in space and then work out how to connect them after.

Clockwork Solar System
Seasider replied to Orcman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great looking model. would you be able to share an image of the insides just to show the complex mess of gears. Just curious what 153 gears looks like- 24 replies
