  1. Other than the small change in the front and what you mentioned about the flick-fire missiles, I don't really see any differences... I think you would have to go through the instructions.
  2. Whoops. Looks like I need to brush up on my Expanded Universe.
  3. They're actually strike-foils. And the Hasbro version already does that...
  4. The factory from the opening pages of Huxley's Brave New World is a must!
  5. - I'm hoping The LEGO Group will do something smart and use a bigger version of this. If not, I'm guessing BUPs. -The arms look to be constructed in a similar fashion to the 4504 Falcon (the double rows of click hinge bricks). So long as the base remains on the ground, I think it would be stable. - Juniorization is your friend!
  6. I'm still waiting for someone to use mouse droids in a "Do it to Julia!" shot.* *Whether anyone would actually find that particular reference funny is another question entirely.
  7. Right next to the random missiles that can be flicked to knock Threepio under the falling Sarlacc arms. Catapult Luke and his skull at a switch to tip Jabba's throne over. Wait, now I'm confusing myself... EDIT: @simonjedi - I rarely complain about the inclusion/non-inclusion of certain minifigures in sets, and when I do, it's typically less about the minifigures themselves than how they affect other aspects of the set.
  8. But then what will happen to the X-wing, the Y-wing, any other ship with an astro-droid socket? West End Games is really screwing us over this time.
  9. Perhaps if The LEGO Group were to expand upon their ?
  10. I'm honestly not sure. It might have something to do with the fact that the ship isn't perfectly lined up with the horizontal in that picture.
  11. I wouldn't be surprised if they went the way of the Falcon and increased Artoo's "canon" dimensions to fit all the new crap in.
  12. We're AFOLs; the question is, are any of us normal? Oh, and I doubt that 30051 will look "correct" next to 7778; in spite of the fact that the length of the Falcon is still under debate (anywhere from 25 to 35m, which is a huge degree of uncertainty) the 7+cm 30051 will look ridiculously large next to it. But I suppose that's something only a Star Wars fan would notice. And I enjoy swooshing my X-wings as well (though swooshing in the nude is something only KimT would attempt ). Don't worry guy - I'd say you're within the range of "normal" accepted here...
  13. Reading the description on the site a little more carefully reveals that most, if not all, of these are preliminary: I've seen the DK books before. The blueprints contained in them, while certainly a huge improvement over the diagrams in the Essential Guide (trust me, Red Three does not look like that - just ask Aeroeza, or look at this), are definitely not perfect. More than good enough for LEGO MOCers, but not perfect.
  14. These are the original blueprints, then? Interesting... $500-$1000*?! And I thought Chronicles was expensive... I think I'll stick to reference pictures on the Net (and someone's bound to scan the pages of this new book for public use eventually). *I could almost buy my own ship for that!
  15. Why anyone would pay monthly subscriptions to play this when they've got 250+ levels of Galaga on their Atari is beyond me.
  16. And let's not forget how many stolen MOCs are shown on the LEGO site...
  17. I think that this is what Brickdoctor meant. What's more, the panels shouldn't extend to the sides of the cockpit.
  18. Haven't you heard? A turoblaser is a blaser of the turo variety. I love the way FBTB put it: "Dear LEGO, There's a Typo In Your $400 Set".
  19. I'm still waiting to see what madoka posts here...
  20. While I agree that the old curved pieces aren't long enough, I would reserve judgement until we can see some pictures of the craft with its panels completely opened or closed (Future74's shots depict it somewhere in the middle).
  21. TIE/ln fighter? The A-wing does seem to make more sense, as its small size (only about 7.6m) would justify it being a 100-euro set. I hope it's true...
  22. I remember calculating once that going by the 'canon' length of the Scimitar, 26.5m (at the moment, I had no other measurements) 7663 was roughly 1/100 scale, which goes to show just how small it is (it's shorter than my X-wing!). Also, according to one ERTL kit, the Scimitar is over 40m in length. (I doubt this is correct, as many other commercial kits and scratchbuilds have retained lengths which are closer to the accepted length.)
  23. No pun intended? This was addressed on FBTB last year in discussion of 8099:
  24. Yes, that is Pepa's amazing MOC... I even seem to remember him referring to the technique as 'stressing the brick' in an interview or something of the sort.
