  1. Ah, there's a movie... that makes more sense.
  2. Hear, hear!
  3. Art, your post reminds me of this thread... Thank you for the confirmation, gratefulnat. I would agree with sok117 that the 2x2 round brick is meant to represent the actual 'crane' operating under the gantry...
  4. Look, Brickdoctor's RCB is on page 11! EDIT: Oh my, this is from 2004! Back when 4502 was new...
  5. Can we expect a review soon? A closer look at the medicarmourommand centre (pedro, did I spell that right?) reveals that the gantry includes four of the sliding tube pieces like the ones in 7869 and is cleanly mounted on a line of tiles. This suggests two things: - That it can be raised or lowered, presumably to slide an X-wing underneath - That it can be removed (as I initially suspected) to be placed where said X-wing can land Of course, I'll have to ask gratefulnat to confirm this... I'm also curious about the floating 2x2 round brick. What is its purpose?
  6. Build these old-timers a Miniland-scale ThunderTank and they might forgive you. * In reponse to mobricki's post, as much potential as a Lord of the Rings theme would have, it may not prove popular among the target market, most of whom have probably not read Tolkien... so there's one reason why it wouldn't be desirable. Of course, that's not to say I wouldn't want it. *That was meant as a joke. But it would still be interesting to see an MOC from you.
  7. Some very nice SNOT work on this MOC... I think the area around the cockpit is actually fairly well done (though I'm also interesting in seeing how you will improve that). The biggest thing I would work on is improving the nose, and of course incorporating the partial hexagonal cross-section which you've conspicuously omitted (those two aspects should help each other). I would advise you also to use in-game reference rather than the Essential Guide (since the latter is known for being notoriously inaccurate). Good luck!
  8. Beat me to it:
  9. From what I can see, he changed one of the bley pieces in front to dark bley and added transparent elements under the speeder. I'm guessing LegoCityMann's "joke" has something to do with the latter...
  10. Yeah, be careful guy, you might end up making some bipolar kid cry . Quoted for truth. Joking aside, I do see some rather unsightly colorful bits poking out here and there, but for commercial purposes I suppose it isn't too bad. The same goes for what Anio said about poor greebling and such. I maintain, though, that this set looks too fat. And I suppose I'm just nitpicking at this point, but the amount of dark bley in this set (as opposed to color consistency in the spirit of the source material) is beginning to get to me. I do understand that it serves the purpose of making an otherwise monochrome build interesting, but come on...
  11. Having the plaque display set specs rather than in-universe specs would also mean that we'll avoid 'turoblaser' incidents and people thinking that the Executor is some crazy nonsensical length like 12km. This is definitely a good idea.
  12. Speaking of Dr. Dave, he finished his review of 10221... pictures here. The upper hull is held on by plates - didn't see that one coming...
  13. With all the underage members that have been joining lately, someone should bring back Darth_Legois's TFOL sigs... though we all know how that turned out. Welcome to Eurobricks!
  14. Don't belittle yourself guy, Aeroeza just likes to go above and beyond.
  15. I actually don't think the proportions are too terrible. Looking through these, the only really glaring error is the height and a few alignment issues. I'm sure 501st Commando will address those... ?
  16. Nice job capturing the impressive wingspan of the LAAT/i. I'm really liking the SNOT work on this. I also like your use of the new trans-black bubble canopy as well as how you've done the wing-mounted turrets. Seconded. As far as constructive criticism goes, I would try and add some more details as M<0><0<DSWIM suggested. I also think the front could be improved slightly if it were done in a fashion similar to this.
  17. The first time I saw your username, RJH, I thought you were this guy. In any case, welcome to Eurobricks!
  18. Right side Left side Of course, a difference of one plate's height is more or less negligible in a build this large... Or were you looking for pictures of the set?
  19. The 'real' sandcrawler could also pop a wheelie.
  20. As happy as I seem to have made Miss Kyle, that last picture wasn't actually a mosaic. Here's something closer to what I was talking about...
  21. It actually is explicitly stated in the novelization of Episode III that Sidious was the apprentice being mentioned. But that leads into a weighting of the different levels of canonicity, which we... probably shouldn't get into.
  22. I'm sorry, but are you serious?! While we're wallowing in 80s nostalgia, allow me to second perplexingArticulator's suggestion for a Metroid-themed line. Just imagine... EDIT:Actually, most pre-1990 games would work well as mosaic-based LEGO licenses:
  23. Don't know whether anyone has seen this on FBTB yet: * This picture didn't originally have a caption, so here's mine: "One reason I like the clunky and oversized BARC speeder from 7913 Clone Trooper Battle Pack":
