  1. That's right! Famously applied here: EDIT: I also came across a presentation on it in the Eurobricks Index of Tutorials when I first joined.
  2. Well, of course, there's that. On the other hand, Lasse's approach was a stroke of creativity, even if it wasn't entirely accurate, and (for me at least) it did help the aesthetics of the model more than a large, highly conspicuous gap would have. Then again, 10030 also had a gap down the middle (as did Anio's take on the Executor, though it was far less pronounced on the latter) so I guess it doesn't look that bad to most people.
  3. If you were to vacuum metalize this, it would look pretty badass. Great work - I always did take an interest in fans' (and non-fans') creative interpretations of this fighter.
  4. We're working on it.
  5. 8099 has a gap too, in the same place... it's just smaller. As for this set, I would have liked to see the 'zigzag' solution that Lasse implemented in his build.
  6. While I don't have any specific anecdotes, I can tell you that my LEGO parts inventory magically shrinks every time I decide to move... over the years it has dwindled to a single box (outside of sets from after my Dark Ages - I mostly keep those assembled, so they don't get lost as easily).
  7. Ooh - ah, it's all the way in England! Looks like another big event I'll be missing... I can imagine all the AFOLs now squabbling over which "UCS" sets are/aren't included.
  8. Well, if that doesn't answer your question... Back on topic: An on-site review of 7964 would be nice, since so many members here have it. Anyone?
  9. Uh, they did... that's what was being discussed further up the page.
  10. You guys are awesome. @ISDIronClaw: I thought the remolded chest plate was only for Jedi? Or is there something else I'm missing?
  11. First page guy, first page...
  12. Let me tell you something another AFOL told me... And about two months later I started to let it loose a little. This is the third time an AFOL has said this to me today. Read my post above, please.
  13. Since the accepted length of an Imperator is roughly 1.6km, this figure also adheres to the "eleven times the size of the original Star Destroyer" claim stated in From STAR WARS to Indiana Jones.
  14. Not only that, but the Executor is actually only 17.6km.
  15. So you are that Flail! I didn't know you were a member here... I think that your Y-wing is truly one of the best out there. In case you haven't noticed, I mentioned applying your Falcon mods to this set as a welcome alternative many times before learning from instructions that the construction was quite different. Oh, and one more thing: Do tell... I'm assuming you mean the space for the mandibles. In-universe, I believe that's where the cargo is loaded on a YT-1300.
  16. Trust me guy, it is never too late. It's interesting that while this MOC has a classic studs-up builds it also incorporates some newer elements like Technic landing gear and flick-fire missiles.
  17. I believe I asked when, not how... and funny that it was awarded after nearly a week of inactivity. Back on topic: The miniature Imperator that is included with 10221 is actually a few studs too small. The model is 124cm long, so a properly scaled Imperator would be about 14 studs rather than 11. Anio said that the MINI Imperator he built to go with his Executor was to scale (it's about 15 studs, which is pretty close) so a good alternative would be to substitute that design into your display. On the other hand, If you really like the Imperator that's included with the set, you could also rebuild the Executor model to a size of 97cm... but I can't see too many people doing that.
  18. Oh, yeah... I was only thinking of sets from the Star Wars line. As for the second UCS/exclusive, maybe it's that Jabba's Palace that's been all but forgotten.
  19. If it makes you like it a little more, part of the reason I got this new title was probably the fact that you've been making casual references to it for quite some time now.
  20. I had expected to see one of these, but this is pretty good nonetheless. The shape reminds me a bit of the Punishing One. The greebling along the central fuselage looks good. As far as constructive criticism goes, this MOC could benefit from some tiling over. Good luck!
  21. To really get into how 10221 compares to the real thing, you may want to look through these and these. I think Aeroeza also had plenty of pictures of the studio model, and Lasse has already said a bit about the design: *He later stated that the set was actually around the same size as his.
  22. And Gareth, Reto, Pepa, lowlead, Walter Kovacs, badgerboy, robbed...
  23. I'm sure most gamers would never let the beloved controller/joystick phase out of the gaming experience - my guess is that in some kind of attempt to get everybody from 6-year-olds to 80-year olds to play games Nintendo and co. are hawking all this motion sensor stuff. I'm definitely not a "hardcore" gamer, but I for one have felt that the recent Wii craze and Sony and Co.'s attempts to appeal to that same market have resulted in most "mainstream" games being of a low caliber... don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are plenty of good games for the Wii, Kinect, etc. but SSBB and such have not lived up to decent gaming standards. That being said, I didn't like the DS either... but maybe that's for another thread.
  24. Yikes. Good find Anio. I really hope someone will be able to mod that out...
  25. Star Wars Online Lexical Professor - because I frequently incorporate hyperlinks and bits of Star Wars trivia in my posts, often to help another member out.
