the instructions for these new sets are a joke compared to the old instructions of 90s that i built as a kid.... there you actually need to look good and then build... now its just a factory GRAB, PUT, GRAB, PUT.... I built thousands of sets as a kid (from 5-15) and i was always a fast builder.... It takes me longer to build Black Knights Castle than building Helm's Deep and the piece count is nearly halved ... that says alot how hard the building process used to be... back then it was fun ye...

This map has to be from some set from Johnny Thunder adventure theme/line I am 99.9% sure i got my map from this set. http://www.1000steine.com/brickset/images/1271-1.jpg As for your ideas/criticism... Yeah Ill improve on the campfire stuff. As for Foilage etc. I am currently running low on about 3000 pieces alltogether so i am currently rather limited to such small creations like the above, but I have stuff for your foilage proposal so Ill use it and try it out next MOC. Keep the ideas and critics coming it will help me big time in future. thanks!

I am continuing story of the deserting scout! Act 2 '' After 2 days of exhausting walks, the deserted scout of Mad Kings army decided to abandon his armor that protected him. He also lost his map with directions to his home, since Mad King announced a reward for anyone who brings a head from any enlisted soldier that deserted. After nearly a day without food and water, when his mouth became endlessly dry and his tongue became sticky, he finally got some luck and found a whole barrel of fresh water that someone must've forgotten there, or was in hurry and left it who would've known?. ''

absurd? Sorry but when I build I build to finish... If something is absurd its saying you would ''need'' 5 hours to build 2300 something pieces set... thats absurd... How long did the team of 5 people needed to buidl Eiffel tower on contest? I cannot remember .... If you take so much time thats perfectly fine, but thats still SLOW to me...

You're so slow :P I think I built helm's deep in about 45 minutes.... Orthanc has about 800 pieces extra so 5 hours seems extra long....I'd say for any experienced LEGO builder 2 hours tops! unless you drink beer or do stuff with your wife while building haha

Ofcourse i'm serious I would gladly pay 20€ for Saruman (with dress piece) and staff (including shipping) Its not a must have for me but I consider 20€ for him with shipping a fair price. and worthy addition to my collection lol. If I paid 17.50€ for Darth malgus (Old Republic universe) I see Saruman worth 20 :) Since Saruman (in dress) is the only Orthanc part I want (well ok I also want those stickers and white hand banners for my uruk hai army :P but thats not urgent)

Nah I hope you sell it.... I would pay 20€ for Saruman with dress (unique piece in Orthanc set) and his staff but sadly the only one selling is for 20 pounds (23€) + like 7€ shipping which is overkill :P Sadly the eagle disappointed me (size) and I dont really have any use from the Orc boy or the Ent.

Thanks for all ideas and additions... I will surely remember them for my next small MOC (or big ones) I will expand the story of this scout and hopefully he will read his beloved wife some day.

So Finally I took a little and made my first cration from LEGO. Its named Travelers Rest. Act 1 ''After hours of returning home from deserting the Mad Kings scouting squad this seasoned scout is longing for his wife in peaceful far away land. He took his rest beneath a large and strong tree to give him shelter, while he has his last meal, before having to hunt again'' Any criticism welcomed!

Its not that we are worried for no Gondor soldiers... we are worried for the lack of effort on them (aka using silver neck protectors from Castle series instead of proper new molded helmets and so on and on)

Nothing wrong with that really, he paid the money for them :D The problem is not everyone had polybags in their country let alone town. My country got 0 polybags EVER. So I wouldnt mind someone picking 100 if I atleast knew ''if i would be sooner I could get something'' but to me polybags are only a dream or ebay overpaying!
