Thanks for the compliments from you two! This morning I finished installing the front arches; and a few more details into the tool shop with a sink and a lathe based on the lathe from the famous set 10027. I also finished a few more wall segments, so it is almost close to having the main building finished! Update: I finished the main building design! Before I finished I realized that the 1x4x5 windows I was using in the build weren't really available on Bricklink... So I had to replace all the windows with 1x4x6 windows. After that rebuild I added front doors to the shed, and now I am ready to get started on the roof top build :) UPDATE (AGAIN!): Wow that roof came together fast; and it is now finished! I am surprised it came together so easily in the end. :)

I'll give it a vote. Looks like a well detailed and generic building; and while I don't think I'll need a chips shop in my Lego City it will pass as any diner in the western world. I used to enjoy fish and chips a lot as a kid (other than one very terrible incident); so I think it wins the vote just on that :) What might surprise the project creator is that I have never had my fries with malt vinegar though; although a few restaurants here in the states are now offering malt vinegar to go with fries.

This is an older LDD MOC of mine, but today I just installed Bluerender onto my computer so I was able to finally render the MOC as I wanted to see it! The photos should be 800x600 exactly to fit Eurobricks size standards. I first made this MOC in 2012. It is based on the ride "Star Tours 2: The Adventures Continue" which operates currently in Disneyland Park California, Disney's Hollywood Studios Florida, Tokyo Disneyland Japan; and is currently being installed in Disneyland Paris France. The ride depicts a hazard prone space tourism agency which provides tours of the Star Wars galaxy. The success of the ride lead to the Disney-Lucasfilm merger in late 2012. Before I build this MOC in real life I would like to modify the nose, and add additional interior support to increase "swooshability." Other than that and a few additional details, this MOC is close to what I believe will be my finished design. Here is a link to my original 2012 MOCpages post: http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/333645 Enjoy :)

So I have just started work on a new train shed project after seeing a train shed Murdoch 17 made in LDD. I decided to build the train shed to fit a two side by side four lengths of track with a side clearance allowing the biggest 10 stud wide trains to fit inside; this will allow my other WIP, the Tooele Valley #11 to fit inside the train shed. Since most of my photos have not been sized yet to fit Eurobricks standards (I think the one above is 800x600 exactly, if not Mods please let me know!) I will include a link to the project's pages on MOCpages and Brickshelf; where you can pour over the photos in large resolution. On Brickshelf I even have photos showing my early attempts with the Bluerender system, so that should give some high quality photos of the project. You'l also notice in the Brickshelf folder I ran Murdoch 17's original shed through Bluerender as a way to give credit to where my project got its start. http://www.moc-pages.../moc.php/424585 http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=561924 I have had a lot of fun adding interior details to the machine shop based on 10027 Train Engine Shed, and some furniture based on the modular buildings. Enjoy! :)

Now that photos of the Friends Hot Dog truck have surfaced; I am starting to think my paths will cross with minidolls; and with the consistency issue I figure I could just store the minidolls well for the distant future were I probably will have children I want to indoctrinate as Lego fans. They will definitely enjoy minidolls more than I would anyways! :)

[MOC] Captain Solo, this time you've gone too far

I don't want to discuss this in a comity! I like this MOC a lot. -
Which famous train would you like to see in Lego form?
xboxtravis7992 replied to Godtshep's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yes, that would be so great as a Lego set. It would be nice if Lego did some new molds to capture the shape of the pilot and the headlight. I am glad this topic got bumped since I missed out on it back in 2014 (I was living in South America then!) Here are a few trains I have personally met and photographed that I would LOVE to see in Lego form: D&RGW Narrow Gauge Trains: These famous 2-8-2 units are well preserved on the Durango & Silverton, the Cumbres & Toltec, and even Knotts Berry Farm! http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=3009386 Disneyland train: One of the railroads in the US with the highest ridership, the Disneyland Railroad would have the benefit of a famous license to go with the train. Also if Lego dared to give us 4 wide straight track and switches, the DLRR would look very good in that scale. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=3311944 SD-40: Basically one of the famous Diesel locomotive models in the US. First built in the 1960's; numerous rebuilds and variants have allowed many SD-40 units to continue well into service into the 21st century. Technically the Maersk Train was based on an SD-40 (with GP wheels though...); although I'd love to see the SD-40 appear again in Lego. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=3488939 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4259171 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4288623 Union Pacific Big Boy, Challenger, or FEF locomotive: I don't think this one needs an explanation :) Golden Spike 4-4-0 Units: I know there is a project on Lego Ideas right now about this duo of locomotives; and with their historical value I sure hope that project passes! http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4302516 -
Shield looks good, but a few more pieces will be needed to elongate the handle so a hand may connect to it. All in all, "I'm most impressed"

Oh this is an old thread... Still Narrow Gauge in Lego is always a fun read.

Ekimu, hmmm... I feel the Trans Blue Mask is a sign he is using his Mask powers to temporaryly "Upgrade" his form. Because if that is his new permenant form, blech. Umarak and the Beasts; I'll need closer photos, but I am impressed. Now seeing that the Skull Spiders are in the Netflix show, it seems the G2 villains are less of a "Fight one per year" and more of a rogues gallery. The sets for the Beasts look different enough, but if they were placed with the Skull Army they will look great together.

Looks good, pretty spot on to! I wonder if this thread would benefit with the guys in the Action Figure Forum; since that is were most Star Wars Constraction discussion is.

So our best bet is either hoping for a D2C Train in 2017... Or passing a project through Lego Ideas...

So Did Anybody Else Skip Their Dark Ages?
xboxtravis7992 replied to xboxtravis7992's topic in Community
I don't know. It seems most young 20 something AFOLs never had a dark ages. Then again that is just speaking of those we know about now; in another 10 years we could discover hundreds of 'millennial' AFOLs who are having Dark Ages right now and will return to the hobby in the future. It could be our data on young AFOLs is slanted just because the only active ones are the few who skipped the dark ages. It would be a great poll to try and gather data on the subject -
"Who do you think will buy this project? Children, Teenagers, Adults, Men, or Women?" Um, RAILFANS! Good luck, we need all the train love on Ideas that we can get.

Just noticed Aanchir called out the Brickset user DanRSL in the comments; lets just say my unpublished comment that was supposed to go on Brickset was in response to Dan's comments too... Anyway, I'm pumped for Nuremberg. Sounds like Umarak will be the stand out set, again!

The front looks great, all it needs is a Maz Statue to finish it off. The back could use the addition of a Cantina before reaching the storage room. Maybe a few more flags of different colors could be hung above the door to avoid the drabness of only using the bacon flag. Other than that; this is coming along great! Can't wait to see the next update.

[LDD MOC] Storm IV Twin-Pod Cloud Car
xboxtravis7992 replied to bountybossk's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Very nice MIC. I would buy it if it was an official set. That mustached pilot figure would be a great addition to a Star Wars collection -
That would solve so much issues! Give it a shot and see if they'll let you in.

So Did Anybody Else Skip Their Dark Ages?
xboxtravis7992 replied to xboxtravis7992's topic in Community
I guess I have 8 more years to go before I leave my "turbulent 20's"; so who knows what will happen. But the only thing which I feel would put a hiatus on Lego for could would be small children in the house; which only a few years later would be the same excuse to come back to Lego in full force (once they are old enough not to choke on it!). But I'm still single for now so who knows when children will even be a factor. -
Admittedly Huw doesn't even focus on gray spaceships anymore he's handed all Star Wars reviews to other reviewers. Judging by the reviews he does; Huw is a huge Lego "traditionalist" as in the themes he cares about are often City, Technic, and Creator. He really ignores most other themes. I still admire him for the website he has put together; and admittedly his level of snark is more toned down than those on FBTB (who are snarky towards their favorite themes) and TTV (kings of snark again towards their favorite theme). However I agree that for a Lego website aiming to be the #1 Lego database; giving Bionicle short coverage due to personal interests is infuriating. And the strange thing is Brickset has a lot of Staff and Associates who love Bionicle as much as we do. Capnrex101 has reviewed enough Star Wars Constraction sets, I think he has a bit more knowledge on CCBS than Huw; and he published (a little late) info on the upcoming Journey to One. TheBrickPal reviewed Tahu Uniter of Fire. And Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder was chosen by one of the staff members as one of their favorites in the 2015 Holiday Guide. So Brickset has Bionicle fans, its just Huw needs to make the effort to delegate responsibility to somebody else; instead of holding on to that responsibility and snarkiliy ignore it...

Yah! Toy Fair photos in a few days. Soon we won't need Huw or the Brick Fanatic. We'll have officiall photos all for ourselves! It is a little weird though that the winter wave takes forever for official photos, and two months later we have photos of the summer wave...
