  1. A bit formulaic, but Episode 7 stands as the best Star Wars film released in 30 years, with some pleasant surprises, like able characters, a few laughs, and a few heartbreakers. Go so it soon, before we spoil it all!
  2. It would be a more interesting MOC guide, if the pictures weren't of an official set. Yet as mentioned, charming.
  3. ^Lego's PR team sends Eurobricks advanced copies to review. It says so in most reviews for this wave.
  4. But I thought Pohatu hated scorpions? Nice review. The creatures all look to be very inventive, while reminding us of the Rahi of Bionicle of yore.
  5. Its working again for me now.
  6. Yes very interesting fact. I can imagine building a "corrupted Kopaka" would be easy with this, just switch out the trans blue stud with a more sinister color...
  7. The world will never know...
  8. Well Will Ferrell did introduce some parents to the idea of AFOLS in the Lego Movie, but with that image they probably think we are all obsessive Kragle users... With people my age (20 something), I have yet to raise a lot of shock with the Lego hobby. A lot of them still play Lego Star Wars games, or have their old sets stored at their parents house, so they aren't to unfamiliar with Lego. I have even told people my age in South America that I like Lego and they didn't bat an eye. I definitely think the shocked people are in the older generations.
  9. The red flanged drive wheels yes, but I don't think the blind drive wheels are.
  10. No the Bionicle sets: Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder, and Skull Warrior. Bionicle 2016 will bring a few more trans blue stud shooters in the $10 set Akida, plus Kopaka here.
  11. Good news is the trans blue shooter was introduced in the summer of 2015, so it should already be out in the wild by now. Yeah Kopaka just won a spot as my favorite Toa for 2016. He looks very orderly and deadly, compared to the flashy and flamboyantly colored wanna-be Iron Man leading the team (Tahu...). So I guess Umarak and Kopaka are the sets to look for first for me, followed by Tahu/Ikir and Gali/Akida; and then the rest (yes I know Tahu and Gali aren't nearly as solid sets as Lewa or Onua, but favorite characters need to be prioritized!)...
  12. Laugh out loud funny.
  13. Just found Kopaka and Melum on Shop@Home and he is listed as $25 USD set... (http://shop.lego.com...uestid=17129301) Onua and Umarak don't seem to have U.S. pages yet. If Kopaka is only $25 then, he has just become my favorite 2016 Toa :)
  14. Very good. It is such a wacky scene in the actual movie, but it would translate very well as a Lego playset.
  15. Yeah, once the Mask of Control is out this will look spot on!
  16. Yes that new resistance pilot is Awesome.
  17. Yeah it's canon. There is just no official connection to G2.
  18. I thought the same thing. The Barraki sets were my last G1 sets, and when pictures of the Unity Piece showed up I noticed the similarity. I however don't mind the extra detail on the Unity Piece, it looks fine to me. It is that new torso which looks over- detailed
  19. Yeah I have noticed the Modding is pretty different depending on the way the users act in the thread. I have seen a lot of MOD posts in the Speculation and Rumors threads in the Licensed and Star Wars forums. The Action Figure forum is a bit more "loose" in that regard, although I recently saw VBBN coming down on a derailed thread (and rightly so in my opinion). The General Discussion forum is mostly spam cleanup. The thread with the most laid back mods I have seen is the Train Tech forum, and that is more because a member talking about their MOC of an SD-40-2 is not going to draw us much heated discussion as can happen over say a movie or a theme being cancelled. In fact the Train Rumors and Speculation thread for 2016 has been literally derailed and has become the "If I was in charge of Lego!" thread, but I think the Moderators are letting us go with it because there have been no actual rumors for trains in 2016 and we are all kind of sad . (also the 2016 Rumor thread in Train Tech is not pinned like the threads on the other forums, so it doesn't need as heavy modding anyway).
  20. Yeah, Gali is kind off a let down unless Akida is combined with her. I like the Mask, and the orange shells are nice, but everything else is kind of meh... Those stubby arms could be a deal breaker. 2015 Gali was so easy to pose, she could sassily have hands on her hips, she could be swimming, she just looked good. I don't think the arms of the 2016 model can even reach her hips easily. Still might get her someday.
  21. ^I think Lego has planned "three" but if it sells well it can run another 5, 9, 20, 50+ years. It all depends on sell numbers. Even then, if the theme ends again in 2017, I'll be content that we got a reboot, and the knowledge that someday Lego might bring it back again as Gen 3 :) Besides, at least the new Bionicle sets would be a better send off for the theme than the Bionicle Stars were...
  22. On the exterior it does look pretty bulky, and as mentioned earlier the thin spire looks out of place. However, the interior is fantastic. It keeps the simple look of the original set, while adding a lot of playability at the same time, looks like a load of fun.
  23. We have got some great sets from Ideas. But do you know what would be even better? If they renew the website's security certificate soon...
