Campfire and Bacon scents to!

I know this a strange question but what does New Jersey Transit use for trains on the Northeast Corridor? Only time I rode that line was on a family vacation to NYC were we rode from Penn Station to Newark Airport. Since I'm from the Western US, my knowledge of what I rode back east on that trip is nonexistent.

^Great insight into why Trek isn't much of a huge brand right now. Even the new films while successful in the box office, aren't creating much of a fandom. They are just popcorn flicks to enjoy on occasion. And the new TV show, why is it on CBS All Access? WHY?! It seems they are risking killing Trek again in hopes that somehow people will come to buy another online streaming service (my family has Netflix and Amazon Prime, we don't want any more streaming!)

Problem is electrics have less versatility, they can only run a few lines. Diesels can be sold to shortlines and live forever, but not electrics.

Wow, had no idea these were being mothballed. Fitting Lego tribute then!

Does the Saturn V count as an IP I wonder? Probably not I'd hope. -

The new guidelines Lego released for Ideas are great and very welcome. Glad to see them in place. -
When it happens! These things require patience, although everyday that passes the more likely we are soon to see it.

Light Sensor Block Occupancy Detector (FPGA Control)
xboxtravis7992 replied to Phoxtane's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yes very impressive project. It would be cool seeing this eventually dispatch an entire train layout. I know a lot of big HO railroads have signals like this, but this is the first time I've seen it done for Lego.- 4 replies

Yes my Protector of Stone came from a Walgreens :) Bricklink seller hasn't sent me an invoice yet for that $0.30 hero pack, so it might be a dud :( EDIT; Got a hold of Bricklink seller; shipping was a lot higher than the item of course but it is still a cheap $2.75. Exclusive mask here I come. EDIT 7-13-16: I don't want to bump the thread so I'll just say it here. I got a copy of the Protector of Jungle and the Hero Pack. That Trans Orange Mask of Fire is WONDERFUL. Makes me wish the Toa came with full translucent masks instead of gold masks. The only Winter 2015 sets I lack now is LoSS and the Trans Blue Mask of Water. Since I don't want to sell my kidney to buy the Water mask, I will be content with just getting LoSS someday. Edit 8-9-16: Again to avoid necromancing an old thread, I finally got LoSS. My Winter 2015 collection is complete! Time to chase down the Summer 2015 sets before they are all gone. I just need Scorpio, Basher, Slicer, and the Villain Pack (if I can even find it?) to call the year good!

That would be awesome. Don't forget Boba Fett in the figure line up to though!

WOW!! A great follow up! Looks as detailed as the recent HO water tender released. That's an amazing feat in Lego.

I dare say the Dream Suite might translate well. I mean it is an awesome set of rooms. I figure if Lego dedicated the Ghostbusters set to kitchens and bathrooms, then maybe the Dream Suite isn't that far out. For those who haven't seen photos of the Dream Suite and need a reference:

So anybody want to speculate on an interior? As cool as a restaurant and the Dream Suite would be for accuracy, I doubt Lego would depict them since they are kind of a bland subject.

But I'm not comparing JtO to previous Bionicle media; but to all media I enjoy. I know many kid aimed shows that have placed together a more entertaining story than JtO managed; from some classic action series (Star Wars: Clone Wars [both iterations], Samuraui Jack, etc.) to the different comedy series I enjoyed as a kid. The issue is not weather JtO is better than previous Bionicle films (which if that is the case I agree it trumps the Legend Reborn) but the comparison is how does JtO compare to other series. And the fact is on that comparison, I thought it was poorly done. And yes even though the bad guy won in the second episode; doesn't change the fact the plot was predictable. Episode One was yet another "Go on quest and find magic masks" story just like the 2015 story (made more glaring with Episode Zero being a recap of said 2015 story...). Only a few minutes into Episode Two I knew that Umarak was going to target Ketar; why? Just because Pohatu was being a jerk and a moral had to be pointed out. And before someone says "Its aimed at kids it was sufficient" as a justification for the story; look at a lot of kid aimed media Lego has produced recently; The Lego Movie, Star Wars Droid Tales; etc. They were funny for an adult to watch on their own; and highly entertaining. I am not saying Bionicle needs to be humorous like The Lego Movie was, but the action and plot need to be at least well thought out so both kids and adults can enjoy the show. And that is why I am disappointed in JtO.

Good point. I can delay the other big D2C's a while longer. If this castle is half as good as they hype suggests, I have no doubt though my family will be in love with the set!

What Lego-related dream did you have last night?
xboxtravis7992 replied to syy89's topic in Community
I have a lot of dreams where I enter a shop and find lots of rare sets for cheap prices and I have the money to buy them all. Oftentimes the themes are Bionicle or Star Wars or the like. Then in the dream I get home build the sets, and then as I near awaking I panic realizing I wont be able to take the sets with me back to the awake world. I also used to dream about eating Lego bricks as food, and having to make the decision to keep the sets or eat them. Apparently in a few dreams I felt content the bricks would come out... um "intact" from the uh... other end. I blame these dreams on that stupid Lego shaped candy they sell all over the place up here. -

Speaking of Jack, where would be the best place to catch up with the original series? Netflix, Amazon Prime? Or should I just order the DVD copies? -
$350-400 USD price tag... Hmm I'll definitely have to ask for this for Christmas from my parents. But I already feel guilty at the thought of asking my parents to pay such a huge price tag; especially when my dad has already made it clear he is buying me a $200 HO scale train locomotive I want... and the fact the Brick Bank is at $160, the rumored Winter Train which could be about $80 or so if similarly priced to previous D2C sets, and the two Technic flagships this year are also pricey (Porsche and Bucket Loader). And as a 22 year old I feel ridiculous asking for even just a $350 set from my parents let alone all the other ones I just listed that I want... But then again they'd kill me if I bought a $400 dollar Lego set by myself since I am supposed to be using my money to pay for college! Oh decisions, decisions... Still seeing how my family rallied around me collecting the CMF Disney line, I am willing to bet they would want me to get the castle not only for my entertainment but theirs... Gosh why is Lego making so much cool stuff right now when I don't have money to buy it all! At least with a price that high I fully expect the Disney Castle to be grade A set that will go down in Lego history as one of the best D2C builds ever. I just hope it isn't like some small building and a compilation of smaller builds and vehicles like another D2C set was early this year (*cough* Hoth *cough*)...

How popular are game based figures these days? While the nostalgic inner child in me likes the idea of a Slizer reboot based around competitive disc games; I haven't really seen many toys these days that focus on a story and a competitive game you play with the toys. Just the thought of a story structure similar to Yui-Gi-Oh sounds more like a 2000's toy and not a 2016 toy. But then again; a small figure based constraction line such as Logan's Slizer concept would make a great impulse buy and good be a solid parts pack. I could see my self buying a small CCBS Slizer or two to round out an order from Lego Shop. Admittedly to that a line focused on impulse buy sets ($5-$10) might be a lot easier to sell than G2's $20 hero figures. So its really hard for me to judge the ability of such a line.
