  1. My little shark. No idea who titled me this, but posting pictures of sharks with the caption "Raaa" causes these things to occur.
  2. I would have added it to your post, but there is an image limit dontcha know! Thanks for the review, looks like I need to track down some stickers! This theme came out in my midgreyish time, I didn't have enough money, I wanted Castle sets instead and I was too old to be bought Lego anymore so it passed me by despite its many awesome features.
  3. Oh spare me. I love all building bricks. In defrence to prevailing opinion I do not build (many) MOCs using parts harvested from other brands, but my custom figures have plenty of this and aftermarket product. K'nex always eluded me, having been more expensive than Lego back in the day but with my own income, if these sets are in UK shops, I will certainly be buying some. If they expand to other Nintendo franchises, I will get those too. In April I will be buying Doctor Who sets from Character, just last weekend I upped my total of Click Brick figures to 26 and tonight I will more than likely investigate some more sets from Oxford Toys or suchlike. Compatible brands are a result of Capitalism, competition will drive quality in product and theme to avoid losing out to other manufacturers (Lego already loses on price these days, a huge consideration for many parents). If you did some looking around you might notice that there is a bit more discussion on clones than on Brickset and that the construction toy TLG outright cloned was invented in the UK but then altered and developed by LEGO. So please, do a little research Disclaimer: These views do not reflect staff opinion, just my opinion. (Signed the user formerly known as Queen of the Clone Brands).
  4. One of Our Thursdays is Missing, by Jasper Fforde, the latest Thursday Next book.
  5. Thanks everyone The Technomancy Equine is my second MOC within the theme, once I have a solid idea, my next MOC shall be forthcoming.
  6. I have never heard of that site before but Bricklink.com is the most used site for many Lego fans.
  7. I'll wait around for you lot to decide on a location. Then I can book close so that I won't be too far from the fun
  8. AWESOME I will be seeking out some of these sets Siblings and myself shall enjoy these
  9. My email addy is too long. CopMike, please tell them that I would love to give feedback, but my email addy will not fit into their system
  10. Hi, sorry it took so long to index! I have had a busy few days and didn't have time to sort out the image for the list. Thanks for this review, I do hope it ends up included in the annual Lego promotion one of our newspapers has here in the UK, that or it is in Lego stores!
  11. Extension and format are somewhat interchangeable with a Windows OS (in my experience, the computer will refer to "extension" when you seek to open a file.docx or .bmp etc. Messages like "Windows cannot open this file extension" turn up if and when you try and open .docx on Word 2003.) so mixing format and extension is easy. .JPEG is the best to use most of the time, it opens in a lot more programmes and takes up less space.
  12. Hey, it's fine. These sorts of themes are hard to place, which is why we made this subforum. Also they don't last longe enough to list in the subtitle!
  13. I'll be moving this then.
  14. I think this may be the last of my steampunk for a while, I have moved too far into castlepunk/technomancy now!
  15. Oh, I prefer the tecnomagical ones too, I am afraid this steampunk one just slipped out, partially because the boiler idea was so tempting and also to show that there is a difference between the two styles. There is more to the aesthetics of Steampunk than a few brass gears with a boiler and there is (hopefully) a visible difference between Steampunk and Castlepunk. Hope you enjoyed my brief return to Steampunk MOCing!
  16. Well, I am glad everyone likes these technomantic horses, I am in the process of writing my own rules for castlepunk/Technomancy. This and the other horse are just the first of many planned excursions into the techno magical. As for Steampunk, well I post that in the forum it belongs in! I am also glad that the fiction is appreciated, I am fond of story telling and building fictional worlds. I shall endevour to wright more!
  17. I believe it was a quite aquisition of the copyrights and patents during a (succesful) attempt to sue a competitor that was making bricks, but that is besides the point these days.
  18. Professor Babbington’s Superior Steam Powered Mechanical Horse Alternative "Ladies and gentlemen, there is a blight, a Blight I say, upon this fine nation of ours. What is this foul spot upon the empire? This reprehensible issue of which I speak? Why it is the odious droppings of a beast most fearsome, yet so relied upon: The Horse. Every day tonnes of their foul excretions besmirch our streets and offend our noses. However there is no alternative to their power aside from steamship and train and these great mechanical achievements of man are too large to make progress along our roads . Thus I present to you my superb alternative to this twitchy creature: The Superior Steam Powered Horse Alternative. While my esteemed colleague Professor Percival is producing his own AutoCarriage it has one unfortunate handicap of great size. This machine of mine is nimble and can travel along any road or highway that the creature it replaces it can. Powered by clean replenish able steam with none of the foul odours a horse creates. My test pilot shall demonstrate it’s capabilities." Hope CptMugwash doesn't mind testing it for me More in the flickr set. A Steampunk imagining of my original concept The Horseless Horse
  19. Technomancy Equine Using the most arcane of technomantic arts, our greatest mages have devised these fantastical machines. Horses made from wood, forged metals and crystal. These creatures require no rest, no food nor water. They can reach a greater speed than any flesh and blood beast without sickness nor injury. The Rouge Stone of power provides energy and movement to this machine. Soon we shall achieve supremacy on the battlefield! More in the flickr set A rival to The Horseless Horse for the Lion Knights.
  20. I think you should re-think your post really. If anyone here is using their fathers computer it would be yourself, I'm guessing. Please stop or you will soon run into trouble here.
  21. I might be making a few more things within the theme, but if I stretch it too far it may end up as Science Fiction in some peoples eyes. I just had to build the bike when I got the idea. Glad everyone likes it. I have to say, I thought Magitech/Castlepunk was more well known. Different refrence pools I guess.
  22. Magitech or Castlepunk I personally classed it as when I imagined it. The Magical Technology "genre" can cover anything from Castle age mages with "high" technology to a more Final Fantasy setting (think VII plus) where it is modernish aesthetic but all magical powered technology. Castlepunk is pretty much self explained. Glad you all like it. This is my first real castle themed MOC since I was a kid building red and yellow towers for my makeshift knights, the idea just hit me as I browsed an article about unusual motorcycles on Dark Roasted Blend. I love motorcycles and a castle themed one seemed like a cool thing to try. As the car is often called a "horseless carriage" I though Horseless Horse was an apt title for this vehicle!
  23. They came in a flock, from who knows where. Before we knew what was happening... "They were all over us! With thier staring beady eyes..." "Being surrounded by chicks had always been a dream of mine... But not this kind! They're so fuzzy..." All the shops have started stocking these things, they are so fuzzy and cute I couldn't resist buying some. At home I realised how funny they looked with minifigs. Hope I gave everyone a nice little laugh anyway.
  24. Well, some of the other themes have a thread like this and I know certain members will enjoy this. Also it brings plenty of visitors and participation. So to start us off: I draw the line at dinosaurs, thanks... Feel free to post your photo funnies!
  25. Ye Horseless Horse* This is the horseless horse, a triumph of technomagery. Using the viridis Fomes vox crystal to power the cart wheels, this magnificent machine can outpace the kings finest horses and certainly a running man. The saddle provides a comfortable seat for the rider and the saddlebag can hold and carry items needed throughout the land. This technomagical vehicle is one of a kind and an exciting development for our fair land Draigoness. *Translated from Olde English. More in the flickr set! This MOC came out exactly how I imagined it, I had great fun building it and will be happy to explain any construction methods.
