  1. "Yes, as our party leader says, we were hired in to inspect these factories. You surely knew this?" She drew herself up to her full, intimidating, stature. Making eye contact with as many of the guards as possible. "We are here on legitamate business. Leave us lest we turn our strength against you, I am sure your captain will have harsh words over the treatment of us."
  2. "Officers, we were merely equipping ourselves incase of another beast attack." Tesni said, biting down on the angry flare of her blade, these men posed little threat to herself and could be swatted like flies if she so wished. "I would like to know also, what we are charged with?" she singled out the burly looking Guard D
  3. Good news friends! My artist friend tracked us down to our new home and has delivered some paintings from his many travels!
  4. In the ancient and dry days of the second great drought, all seemed lost. Desperate for water a young man left his home and searched for many days. His last drops left his drinking skin and, weeping bitter tears at his impending death, he beseeched the gods for water. Striking a nearby rock with the emptied skin, fresh cool waters burst forth! News spread and soon a dam was built to collect the miraculous waters, as years went by a shrine was built upon the rock and dam, to thank the gods for this water. After a time a small temple was built. Although the temple fell from favour, the shrine is still a welcome sight to travellers. The latest heritor to the temple is a pragmatic man, knowing well that dusty travellers and the last few pilgrims appreciate somewhere to rest over somewhere to worship, he turned the ruined building into an tavern and welcomes the many characters who pass through. The tavern host stands at his bar, greeting weary souls to his shady and well supplied home. One mercenary has a nize hat. There is also space and water for pack animals and horses. Merchants leave some supplies and equipment at this popular waystation, incase of damage to their own as they travel. A ruin from a long gone era stands guard. The shrine itself. Although the gifts of money were removed long ago, the gilt cups and statue remain in place, for fear of displeasing the provider of water. A greatful vagabond takes a drink while Yz the snake charmer practices his art. I hope you enjoyed this MOC.
  5. Tesni's grinned and pocketed a Military Grade Holy Bomb, "Lets find another beastie to squash." A tight control prevented any overt signs of Cysgodion's power, she couldn't tell who could be watching...
  6. "One reble you say?" Tesni Cariad asked. "You could not find more? We were told there were factions, surely one is too little?" She looked at Felton, he was suspect in her eyes. "No matter, I defer to noble Cronk as to our actions. Should we inspect another factory today Cronk, Guardsman?"
  7. I am in! My friends wedding is in April and I have 25 days of leave! All the days, don't mind being a responsible if needs must (aka, if someone else better qualified can be, i will happily defer to them. I just could if you really need me to be).
  8. Tesni glared angrily into middle distance, the mess that had greeted their return was not a welcome sight. Sleeping on it had not helped. Why had they sacrificed two for one useless man who now had not even promised his help? "There better be something to hit at the factory." she said, "It is no wonder that those rebels needed our help." Hearing te comment about diplomacy, Tesni grinned. "How about intimidation?" Cysgodion glowed in agreement.
  9. Well, I couldn't resist, while standing in line with my reduced Mill Village Raid, Green Lantern figure, Ninjago booster Packs, Samurai X and 5 series 6 figures at the Lego Shop, I just had to pick up Olivia's Workshop. I will get together a review soon (Camera Battery issues, then babysitting duties )with some opinions and suchlike. I have to say, there was a positive reaction both in the Lego shop and John Lewis. Lots of small girls wanting the new City sets and the Friends sets in the Lego shop and at the John Lewis they were displayed next to Ninjago, with one small girl bewailing spending all her christmas money already ("But mummy! She has a puppy!!"). So yeah, I am going to review it soonishly.
  10. Point: Galidor was full owned by LEGO, it was part of their plan to diversify to survive... It ended up being part of the problem. TLG then shed everything but the core building toys and lisenced out themselves to games/clothes/themparks instead of trying to do it all themselves. Oh, on thread: For everyone getting fed up of lisenced themes there is someone who wants something else to be made by LEGO. Star Wars will go on and on, Superheroes has the potential to, a never ending cycle of less popular/more dependent on film currency themes will carry on.
  11. Well, it's odd to say the least. The Space Jam site is still live too, for all those fans of internet archeology.
  12. Gargoyles have the guttering running through them or on more ancient stone castles are outlets near the roof or on the top of towers. Both them and grotesques were put in place to scare away evil spirits and to look generally alarming to those approaching. They can take any number of forms but a more modern revival of Gothic architecture lead to the winged humanoids popularised in the US which led to the famous look of Gotham and the epenonymous cartoon series "Gargoyles". My favourite castle has some particularly interesting types of each. (Raglan Castle for those interested).
  13. The monster fighters discussion is about an actual theme, this is a hypothesis on a cool idea for a theme. It is cool that it ended up being close to an actual theme but I stand by the consideration that it will just confuse the other thread.
  14. Checking her blade for any problems, Tesni once again thrust Cysgodion out against the Jailer.
  15. Yes, there is a pinned thread discussing it. As all the discussion in this thread is now moot and I want to avoid confusion this thread was left to sink.
  16. "Well, as a nation founded on magitech, of course Sans Serif was home to a large number of magi. We are working on mapping an oasis we came across on our trek and of course, once a home is found for us we must build our workshops and bunks. We set up so far from civilization due to the issues many had with our methods and theories. I hope no such things linger."
  17. Funilly enough in 1911 pink was still quite likely a colour for boys as it was the stronger shade... Eh, off to go buy new sets today. Will pick some up today.
  18. The jailer blanched at her warcry. Tesni thrust Cysgodion towards him.
  19. It is suffering from bad photo. I will maybe take it down and alter things to an oaisis, I have a lovely idea for the water.
  20. As the caravan approaches even more dust is kicked up when the stop. The dust settles and the caravan is visible. At its head is a well adorned horse, his rider holds a diamond topped staff and a gold sword is at her side. Two warriors run abreast of the horse, their scarab shields flashing in the sunlight. Following behind two fierce lizardmen, their curved blades sharp and dangerous. A mixture of horses, camels and ostriches follow, well dressed figures riding upon them. Unusually for most caravans this one has a pair of alligators and bringing up the rear a dark mage on a skeletal horse. The riders and runners draw near the gatehouse to the city and the leader calls out: “Hail! I am Vashti M. Balsamea, chief Magineer of Sans Serif! We have travelled many weeks to reach you. A great calamity befell our nation and we, the sole survivors heard, that Kaliphlin would welcome some such as ourselves.” She paused and gestured to the group. “I bring our magi, craftsmen and strong guards. All we ask is to ply our trade for the benefit of this fine land.” She ushered some forward, “These are my loyal soldiers, Habib and Ali, their stalwart cohorts, Srrhus and Hrisss, the Lizardmen.” Others came forward. “My personal guardsmen, Ulf, Makimba and Ki.” The mages stepped off their mounts. “Omar, Nadira and Amir, my finest magi-technicians, skilful in creating all manner of devices.” The two riding alligators came forward to be introduced. “Dwavin and Dwynar, brothers and the best carpenter and smith of the country.” A regal woman who had been riding a camel appeared beside the leader, “I am Anita, her Magiship’s assistant.” She bowed deeply but scowled upon standing and noticing who was next... “Ah, this is Zafir, the cattle merchant.” Vashti said. Then she stepped aside as a menacing figure approached. This one had been riding the skeletal horse... “May I introduce Bēvar-Asp, the Nessmancer. Without his valuable assistance we would not be able to create our most famous invention. The Horseless horses.” She looked uneasy as the darkclad figure inclined his head and returned to his mount. “We craft all manner of device and mechanical creature. Sadly an experiment resulted in a hoard of locusts that could eat anything. If not for iron magic, the whole world could have been lost...” she trailed off and looked imploringly “We offer our talents and skills in return for shelter and acceptance.”
  21. A cloud of dust can be seen on the horizon, a storm or large travelling group is approaching... After some moments waiting, an unusual caravan approaches.
  22. The man nearly charged headlong into Tesni, quite a bit taller of the two (as many men who take jail jobs always seemed to be small...) she grinned down at him. Intimidation seemed llike it would not work, so she swiped at him with Cysgodion from the front row.
  23. Tesni snorted. "Alright Wren. I shall hold on the insults if you do yourself. Cysgodion and I work together, there is no posession between either of us, greatful partners is more true."
  24. "We speak as those with the same goal, Haldor. We do not want to give fuel to this witch, we can speak at camp once this task is over." The seperation from her blade was beginning to sting, although a barely perceptable soothing whisper came through to her, it was clear that the Chaotic Darkness was hurting Cysgodion to the core. As the sensation rose, Tesni worked too keep signs of the pain from herself, it felt like her arm had been taken..
  25. Is it too late for me to join? I can make a figure and character this evening and get building over the long weekend.
