Heroica RPG - Quest#19: Let's Start a Riot
Peppermint_M replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I am not being manipulated by my blade, we work as one, we are one. This witch is the only one doing any manipulation here. She revels in this chaos." Tesni paused again. "This is not the time nor the place. Now Skrall, what say you? I will follow your lead." -
Indeed No offense or anything, Tesni has some basic motivations and a path at the edges of darkness and light to follow.

Heroica RPG - Quest#19: Let's Start a Riot

"I do not say he does not deserve life, I say that his sacrifice is the most logical." She looked at Haldor, puzzled at his outburst. "You are a soft touch for a norseman. I will explain more why I think this: If we each take a hit on our health for this witch to teleport us, we will have to use our resources to heal and recover ether. Then we would face battle depleted, risking the use of more resources when there is many more tasks for us to complete and maybe battle with this witch or her goons." A purple misty aura shimmered around Tesni, sparking in emphasis of her words. "We risk long term problems for the life of a frog that will leave us, maybe even betray us. Or do you forget the ant?" She turned to face him then. "I know this slave of Zoot is giving us this to cause chaos. So I will keep this brief and move with the party leader as he wishes. I. Do. Not. Fight because I love it. I fight to survive, to prove to the world that I deserve to be on it. To show those who doubt that I am strong and able." her anger died down and for the first time the undertones left her voice naturally. "I loved herding the sheep and goats, chasing the chickens back to their coop and being chased by pricklebears. I loved finding things to show the priestess and learning about them from her. Picking the mountain flowers and making paints from the rock dusts and mud. Swimming in the lake and hearing stories about the Hightribe. What I love now is questing with my friends and helping people with their requests. Shouting and laughing in the hall and training with Hoke and the others. Talking of home and my goals." The others were looking at her strangely. "I do not know why you left your hometown and joined Heroica. I left because there was nothing left. All were dead and gone. I joined Heroica for company and family, to seek out the wandering Hightribe heroes and to leave a mark on this world before I left it. Think carefully before you say things to me like that again, beau of my friend Jess or not." -

Cysgodion was held. Purple sparks flared from Tesni's eyes and crackles of light fought with the darkness orbs. "Zoot's witch, return us to each other. Although it is interesting to meet." She stood tall, knowing there was no point to use intimidation on this woman. "I must profess, there seems limited point to give up our own health when the frog will do." at the others aghast stares, "His destiny was as a potion of some sort. If we faced his ilk in battle, even his kin, we would feel no pain to despatch them. He was to leave us before the quest was over. His sacrifice would assist us." Still more looks of shock, Tesni shrugged "These are the shadows of life. There is little pure light and little pure dark within the brothers, just the action life demands of us." -
No luck in any shops in Newport or Cwmbran. I am going to Cardiff on Tuesday next week, but I'll keep an eye out if I decide to brave the shoppers at the new Tesco tonight.

"If we face trouble it is better for us to be thick in the fray. Skrall, I leave it to you, where best to deploy us." The eerie purple glow of the gemstone cast strange patterns around the party. -
Every adventurer, treasure seeker, archeologist, map maker and soldier of fortune needs somewhere to rest up while in the arid deserts. This bar, simply called "The Bunker" is a relic of some bygone war. Staffed by old Peggy Joe, heroes and ne'er-do-wells alike have passed through this bar on their way to fame and glory or a snack for the desert critters. Well, just a quick build, I hope to place in in a larger desert scene someday.

REVIEW: 8827 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6
Peppermint_M replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Awesome review Fangy I love that the Bandit and Celt are most common, I want a few of those guys. The Intergalactic Girl is fab, I need plenty of her and the Roman is great. I am going to be getting a lot of those figures once they start showing up in my area -

Indeed. Everyone. Please engage your brain before you rant too much. The minifigures are placeholders. There to illustrate what character and how many figures will be in the set. New prints, colours and parts often turn up in these sets after the prelims are seen. Vastly different ones. So, STOP. Think. Check. Then reply. Thank you. -

Right, guys. These are prelims. Blurry Tiny Prelims. The figures are likely placeholders, the prints and maybe even the colours and parts will change. Look at the old Dino pictures, compare the sets. I don't see any of the Dino guys wearing Snow Rebel outfits... Set design is also preliminary, there could be any number of changes. Not that you can make out anything really from such blurry pictures. There is a rough shape but details are lost, there will likely be revisions before they come out. Now, will we carry on discussion on what is set to be another exciting and unusual theme for Action in 2012. If nothing else, Halloween is going to get a lot more fun with Lego! -
Okay, I am going to have to wade back in here and fish out something from earlier, sorry y'all. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth from certain areas by the fact that Lego has a specific catagory named "Girls" and illustrated with the pop star CMF with the aerobics pink stereo. Well, I just went and looked at this ever-so offensive part of the site to discover... Exactly what I owuld expect. All the creator sets, Castle themed sets, PotC, Harry Potter, Spongebob, Toy Story, CMFs, Community Minifigures, brick boxes of all colours... You know, many of the exciting products Lego sells to a wide range of ages, both male and female. It was at the bottom of the page before Belville turned up and the pink brick boxes were on page 2. Considering that Themes is in fact the first tab on Shop@Home, anyone browsing would probably go there first, only moving along to the Girls section if they could not find what they were looking for. Although it is lamentable that TLG has to indicate a Girls section with pink, it is the colour shorthand for Female for decades, yes they are re-inforcing stereotypes but they are not forcing girls into only pink toys and such. The Architechture sets are not pink, but they are in the girl's section. These sets are more about building than many of the others. In fact, the only thing missing was the Hero Factory sets, something much more appealing to boys anyway. Ah, but there we are. As you all were.

Seeing that her coin would not be needed to purchase he Dragon, Tesni inspected the wares further, "I would like to purchse a grating stone." -
Once upon a time, Peppermint bought a laptop. With this laptop she got to go onto the web and find all sorts of cool stuff. She joined a Steampunk forum and also took the plunge into the online Lego Community with a page on the popular Lego image host MOCpages. When her love of the steampunk community waned Peppermint found that there was not much community for her on MOCpages either. The final push was the outage of the Steampunk and Anime web forums she used to use. Adrift with no community, she googled Lego Forum and discovered Eurobricks. A MOC and a welcome thread soon followed and when on this forum, a Staff member greeted her to the site. In all the other forums the staff had been aloof, swooping onto rulebreakers and yakking it up with their friends on the forum, ingnoring mere newbies. She decided to stick around and carried on posting her MOCs, discussion and some illicit brick reviews. As member no.4757 I am by no means a new member. Four years with regular daily activity and one event under my belt and being promoted to staff myself I am at least Established. Guys, thanks for making this forum and making it great . Zorro, we miss you, thanks for giving this nutty AFOL Gal more motivation to stick around. Everyone, thank you for tolerating my interest in clone brands. And a hearty "Baaaaah" to you all!

Tesni looked at the wears and checked what she herself had, nothing was of use here to her, but if Hoke needed it she would loan him the money for the baby dragon, she held her tounge, maybe he could haggle it down further. -

Right, ready. If we get right down to it (and yes, I have read this about as well as I can) gender roles were laid out right back in the foundation of western society: The Bible. (ducks) Or if you prefer: "Ug, You make babies, stay here and be safe to keep having more babies. I go fetch food. I get back ,be tired from hunt, you make food good to eat." Yes, mass generalisation but there we go. War forced progress at a rapid pace in the last century or so (Women got to do the work when the men were at war and did not want to relenquish this afterwards) and legislation has made it law for equality and even, dare I say it, further towards descrimination against men in some instances. We have to face that biological differences have forced a social difference (I don't know about anyone else, but once a month I spend a week going from weepy to "I AM RAGE I SHALL TEAR OFF YOUR FACE!!!" in the blink of an eye) and we all have to live with the social difference until such a time as, well, no one is anything? After that potted explaination: A social difference, fair or unfair, means that people treat one gender differently to another. Girls get "girl" toys and Boys get "boy" toys. My life has been slightly different, but there are seven kids in my family so we make a mini test study. However some factors to keep in mind: My mum loved Lego, but it took me becoming an engineer for her Dad to accept that women could a do jobs that were for men in his lifetime. Her younger brother had Lego galore but she did not have any. When I was born she bought plenty of Lego for me, loads of Duplo. Sister of mine, 19 months younger than myself preferred her Polly and Barbie, I had Ken and Lego. A few years later there was my first brother, who played with Lego and any of the other toys. One famous family story: When we were 8 and 4 we came into our parents room one weekend morning, there I was with my toy hard hat on and his toy tools on a "tool belt" (dressing gown tie around my waist) and he was nursing my baby doll with a toy bottle... My next brother adopted one of my old baby dolls, named him Cry and would never ever be parted from him. No encouragement either way, the toys were just there and we would choose them. My other sister was much more into Polly and Dolls, she is 13 now and is not the most creative with Lego but there was about a decades worth of Lego and Duplo around for her to play with if she wished. My third brother is exactly like me. He adores Lego to the exclusion of all else, we play and talk and build together and enjoy it, him and his friends (they are all 10) love pink. They, for several years, decided that wearing pink proves you as super manly so t-shirts, socks etc are fine to be pink (I went in on a charity day and at least two of them were being sponsored to dress as faries to raise money) they are looking forward to the Space Gal and the sports car set from Friends. My youngest brother is 9ish, he loves Spongebob, Playmobil and watching X-Factor. He has Spongebob Lego but more home style Playmobil. He makes small family units with biographies and jobs, somewhere to live and friendships. I bought him a rock star figure who has now got a wife who is a vet and a small child who likes go-karting... He was devestadted when one of his Mum figures was broken and went to the shop to select a replacement that would be kind to the baby and the Daddy. So, nature, nurture who knows? We are seven very different people. We were lucky to have open minded parents and we have all developed our own way. I want you all to think of Friends as a "gateway" theme. Smaller minded parents who go in for the (however lamentable) gender stereotypes, small girls who actually prefer the curvy figures and what-have-you will purchase all these girl sets and then, well, Heartlake needs a Toys'R'Us, and a police station and a pizza resturant and a fire station! So they get the City sets, maybe some other themes. They enjoy the toy and get it all thanks to one theme that signed itself as a toy for girls that their family would buy them. And with that. Goodbye.

Nice little museum there. I think a slight change in colourscheme around the area with the half-track, or add a display surround that would present it as a display of the brave adventurer who discovered the wonders you are about to see. Maybe space out the room a little more. Then again space and parts are at a premium, so efforts thus far are pretty good Reminds me of my visit to a museum in Bristol, I had gone shopping but had lost my bearings, I popped into the museum as they often have tourist maps of the city and lo and behold there was a display of Egyptian Relics to my left and a massive old fashioned plane hanging from the ceiling dead ahead!

Dafydd the merchant comes home from his many travels to see his family. Dai chops wood and Cariad feeds the chickens standing with his loyal dog and loving wife Bronwen, Dafydd is glad to be home once more. Well, it is basic and I realise that it could be improved in both setting and construction, but I wanted to share this little house.
