I have a more... Agressive strategy when playing games. Hit the enemy quick and hard. I wanted to create a less refined warrior, a young one in terms of experience and such. I was also considering knight, but I wanted a more exuberant and forceful character than a well dressed and graceful knight could have. Thus Tesni was born. The name is (and those of her swords) Welsh, when I was making backstory I always imagined her living in Snowdonia which then fed in to the character. When she first arrived she was much more shy and also not as confident in herself. After some good quests with experience and a new sword, I just sort of slipped her along to more forceful and surefooted. The purple text started in my third quest, to allow a noticable change in the timbre of her voice. I know popular opinion has it that this is an evil possession but I do have a resolution to all that soon...

Heroica RPG - Quest#19: Let's Start a Riot

Tesni polished Cysgodion and ran the cloth over Cryfder too, just in case. She checked her vials and bottles. "Let us show Wren we mean business." She said, re-filling her bag. -

"I am sure I can persuade him otherwise. If he has a problem." -
As these are custom figures of characters outside of the themes TLG handle, I shall be moving it.

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Man, I have been watching Redline. This is one awesome anime film, so cool. Ok, so now it has just finished. Goodness, this was the most epic thing I have ever watched. Stylish animation by Madhouse, a great soundtrack that fits the theme to a T, a setting and plot that has to be seen to be belived and an effortless combination of action and plot. -
Aww, I was hoping for a Sharktopus
-
Well, they have the concept art and the facilities to print it onto figures... You never know right?

If we keep catching bigger fish we might even get some eldrict abomination out of that pool
-
Why don't you use the fish as bait? Fish with the fish and get a bigger fish!
-
Wouldn't they have eaten the swimmers then? I still think we should investigate if the blood is coming up through the floor.

Heroica RPG - Quest#19: Let's Start a Riot

Tesni glared back and hissed out of the corner of her mouth, in what little norse she knew and hoped made sense "Hush! Is bluff!" Begging the gods that Haddock did not know the tounge. If that didn't work then Highspeak was her last resort. A dialect few would be familiar with. -

"Well then, why don't you both put aside your quarrel and fight Wren, then once this area has been freed and our friends rescued..." Tesni grinned slyly and smoothed the pommel of Cysgodion, "I chop the head off from either of you, for the highest price of course. Sound like a good idea?" -
Go go Power Rangers, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers... What? Just passing through.

"So we convince them to work together and kill each other after Wren is ousted?" Tesni grinned and gestured to her sword. "I can be very convincing" -
LEGO´s anti-war policy: A little hypocrite?
Peppermint_M replied to Paulski's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So what, in fifty years time we will be eagerly lapping up fuzzy prelim holograms of LEGO WWI: Battle of the Somme Paulski, plenty of custom builders make tanks and military hardware. Plenty of equal to LEGO brands make full on military themes (Take a look at OXFORD in Korea or Character's HM Armed Forces). If you want some so badly, grab a few of the custom instructions and get building. Toy Story, Indiana Jones and Star Wars have provided suitable figure parts. The original question has been superlatively answered by many different users. Perhaps someone can come up with a reason why TLG should make real representations of more modern warefare? -
Newport (Wales) TESCO had Whitecap bay at 50% off and a few other sets reduced in price.

LEGO´s anti-war policy: A little hypocrite?
Peppermint_M replied to Paulski's topic in General LEGO Discussion
While waiting for Aanichir's post... The fundamental reason is the devastating effect of modern warfare. The First World War and The Second World War swept across Europe and affected many people, many countries and all cultures involved. There is bomb craters on the hills behind me, there were bombing raids on the city not 30 minutes from my home. These are deep and long lasting scars that TLG respectfully wants nothing to do with. While Viking raiders and battling knights might seem to be hypocritical to produce, their warfare and combat are history from long ago. Archaeological sites and places of historic interest. Not something that a generation alive today still suffer the effects of and can recall. Then as we move closer to our own place and time, we are faced with terrible warfare in countries all over the world with major events occurring at least every decade since WWII ended. Children are still maimed and killed in these conflicts. Families lose loved ones and homes. TLG do not want to be party to that. As for the gun debates, well I do not want that to come up, but a gun is a tool. It can be used to kill and maim other people but in the context of LEGO sets nothing "real" is to be hurt. Extinct reptiles, Flying Undead and faceless armoured goons. Yes, it is not the most moral argument but psychologically it is disassociated from current conflict and living breathing creatures. -
So I heard. Still, I can't see a problem with anyone who might want to share a room (subject to my own vetting of the subject...) as I want to halve the cost anyway...

Earth 2 is coming out! Yay yay yay! I am looking to get some issues of the Brave & the Bold spinoff comic and maybe a few others out at the moment.

"I think I like this Orc better than that thug." Tesni whispered. -
You know what, the whole idea can fall or fly depending on where the retailer puts the sets. Clever retailing would place it near enough to the other Lego toys that some cross purchasing will occur. Retailers don't care who they sell their toys to, they just want to see them. I am yet to make it out to the nearest Toys R Us but they used to have all the Lego across the back wall, with some on the opposite endcaps. The aisles then went down from all the construction toys, whether they were Fur-Real toys or Hotwheels cars. Anyone going down these aisles would see the Lego at the end. The Entertainer places new toys they want to push right near the door, so I am not sure where they will put it afterwards. Now, ASDA is different. They have a aisle of dolls and pink things, they have an aisle of action figures and toy cars. That aisle has LEGO at the one end. They placed Friends between a shelf of mid-range sets (the £20 price point, bigger boxes) and the new Ninjago. The block of shelving next to it has City and Star Wars, with some other brick brands mixed in (HM Armed Forces, Doctor Who, Halo and Transformer sets). So in ASDA, one of the biggest supermarkets has put them in a place where girls may be able to get other sets.

Ideas for New Action Themes
Peppermint_M replied to Perry the Platypus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I the bear, but then I love bears. Anyway, I think we might see a new Spy theme next, as the pattern has cycled through Underwater, Underground and now that Dinosaurs and Adventures have arrived (and also ended) it is due to appear. What we need is a new Bond film, that always excites people for spy toys. Ninjago and Monster Fighters are the ones that do not fit the pattern as it was, but they are under the Action banner in plotline/theme. I suppose we will see what Monster Fighters brings to Action, but Ninjago looks to be a long runner. I would love to see some more World Race like sets, but with Planes or even weirder vehicles to race. An arctic based adventure of some kind (Spies or Adventurers. Maybe something new?) but I can safely say that Underwater Action has been going on since I was a little 'un, we'll get some more soon enough. -

MOC: Jungle Quest, The Skull Statue
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Yeah, I misplaced my birds, I need to dig out the box with them in for my next model. Those red parts are snakes. Again, my next MOC will include some colourfull frogs as some of the Lego board games were on sale and I picked up ones with frogs in.
