Wonderful ship. And with an incredible eye for detail. I like for example the guilded minifig in the front. And the plate on which you put the ship is super with the rounded form. I also like the picture where you photoshoped the ship onto a maritime chart background! I'm not sure I would haved glued on the coins. Everything else about this ship is so beautifully done with only (what appears to be) proper techniques. I think the ship would look just as fine without the coins. And you wouldn't get complaints from grumpy old farts like me.

More bugs In this case you can scafold the 3062 without then needing the 4274 in place. If you insert at 3,2 mm bar (e.g. 30374) into the 4274, and then remove the 4274, you can slide the 3062 into place with stud "inwards". It will look like it's connected. Screenshot (will be deleted in a few days, since I know Calabar doesn't like non-set images here )

Cool - a bug....I love bugs The bug is (at least from what I can tell) that the rotation of the stud on the gun is wrong. It should be oriented along the barrel, not the handle. Luckily it's easy to work around with some scafolding: 1) Place a round 1x1 plate on the stud on the side of the gun 2) Place the tooth piece on it. 3) Rotate the tooth parallel with the barrel. 4) Place another 1x1 round plate outside the tooth (on it's stud). It will be oriented the same was as the tooth piece. 5) Remove the tooth and the first 1x1 round plate. 6) Place yet another 1x1 round plate on the second, and then the tooth. 7) It should snap nicely into place. 8) Do the same for the other side

CUUSOO Photo Generating Help
Superkalle replied to Makuta's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
For me it's a bit unclear what you want to do Makuta. Do you have a complete MOC built up that you want to make digital model of? Or do you have customized physical minifig that you want to make into a digital "element" so you can place it into a digital model? In any case, if you want to create a custom digital Lego-element, you can't use LDD - your only option is to use the Ldraw platform like DLuders indicates. -
LDD 4.2.5 is out
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Not to my knowledge (or rather someone gave it a try last year using some scripts, but I can't find the link now). I had a go at it to (with the help of some web-programmer friends), but we couldn't succeed due to the setup of the S@H web site. I've always found it strange why they don't just pipe LXF-files to be imported and translated to a P@B order. But I guess there are two strong reasons: 1) The DesignByMe was a complete and packaged product towards the consumer, where in TLG (via the LDD GUI) could control so that unavailable brick colors could be replaced and the customer got a complete model that could be built. If you pipe a LXF directly to S@H, how shall/can TLG control so that you get all the bricks you need (the majority of TLG customers doesn't know about BrickLink). 2) I heard somewhere that TLG are not too intersted to get LXF models to the S@H, because customer MOC's often contain just a few of each bricks, and the cost of picking these is too high. Or put it plainly - they simply don't want that business. But you can't quote me on that -

Yearly Calender for Lego Events

All updated so far... -
Not illegal connection in the sence that it's stressing the bricks, but illegal in the sence that it's not a distinct connection (a bit wobbly). I was told it's not recommended to use by TLG designers, but apperantly different rules apply at the SW team. In any case, I think it's about time LDD supported this connection.

[Software] LDD Manager
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
You're spot on here. It is because the LDD Manager file needs to be updated. I'll put out a new version shortly. Also, in this new version there will be an integrated check for a new version of LDD Manager (i.e. checking on-line). -
Oh yeah...done that hundreds of times. And still do it, every day

LDD 4.2.5 Bugs
Superkalle replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I just removed the groups from your file Zinfinion, and then the generated instructions are the same as in ADHO15's file (i.e. not so good). So then I went into ADHO15's file and grouped the roof. The generated instructions suddenly was better (i.e. they started with the floor of the building). So then I removed the group, saved the file, and reopened. Now suddenly the genereated instructions are genereated the "good" way, even though the groups are gone. Strange. -
@Zinfinion: While investigating (wow, that sounded serious ) why the building guides generated from your model is different from ADHO15, I noticed some errors in your model: You sometimes use the 1x2 brick without tubes (3065) instead of the correct 3004. The 3065 is only used for transparent bricks. Also, the two cheese slopes in the window should be red, not black.

LDD 4.2.5 Bugs
Superkalle replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
From what I understand, groups do not influence the generation of building instructions (they are not even concidered), so there must be some other subtle difference between your files. But I may be wrong. -
LDD 4.2.5 Bugs
Superkalle replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
If you download the zinfinion version it actually produces better instructions (for some reason I haven't looked into). Also, to get LDD to generate good instructions you need to prepare the model a bit. For example remove snot modules and place those to the side. -
Ehrrr...found myself (when I knew what to search for) that Jopiek beat me to it...last month http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=65790&st=0&p=1196116&hl=lego_nabii&fromsearch=1entry1196116 I don't think it can actually. If you look at how the 1x2 plate with clip on side is positioned (with studs inwards).
-
There's a new 2x2 tile inverted brick on the horison. It can be seen in this MOC by lego_nabii as well in one of the new Ninjago sets (picture originally from the FBTB flicker stream): In the nabii pic you can also see what appears to be this, but inverted.

[Software] LDD Manager
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
About weight, yeah I know, it's an issue I've fixed for the next release (which is due out in just a few weeks). But thanks for pointing it out. EDIT: Maybe I should answer the second question also LDD Manager currently does not pull any data from the internet when you run it at your computer. Instead all data required is downloaded and prepared at compile time. The reason is that it becomes much faster this way, doesn't rely on internet connection and doesn't query the BL database (which might not be liked by BL admins). But there is another reason, and that is the conversion from LEGO to BL Item numbers. Because they change over time, it might throw the mapping off if BL suddenly gets a new Item number for a particular LDD DesignID. Then there is off course also the issue that not all parts may have a price, which may be anoying. -
Since there is no LXF-file shared, I'm moving this over to the Town-section.
