  1. This is because LDD can't detect in which way a brick got to a place, only if it will fit once in place. Similar to what you reported, there is another case in which LDD will allow you to take apart assemblies that actully can't be taken apart if it was made with physical bricks. Hm....come to think of it, why not make this a little geeky challenge: Create such small assembly and post a screenshot here
  2. It should be easy for the LDD team to add the turntable base as a separate elements since it's allready "made". The rule of thumb in LDD however is that elements that cannot be detached once connected, should be an assembly, and not individual parts. I guess a solution could be that they add the base in parallel with the complete assembly. I also guess however that a lot of people will start looking for the top when they see the bottom, not realising there is a complete assembly.
  3. Stud support for 32187 should not be a problem to fix (I assume). Pin support I don't know since LDD doesn't support "loose" connections - with a physical element the pint won't fully lock the 32187 in place (as I remember at least). Yeah, I tried too to tilt the body backwards, but could only do it after I removed a lot of other parts. And then I gave up and though...maybe someone else want's to have a go
  4. Great work ADHO15 And good find about the 32187 not connecting. Clearly an error. About the collision though, I found by doing some quick tests that if you tilt the entire body by 1 degree "backwards", 2921 and 32523 will not collide. It's a bit tricky though since there are parts both in the feet and the body that are not connected (lose connection). I wasn't able to fix it, but maybe someone else can.
  5. Please note that this ss a forum for AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO), and we kindly ask members to post in a suitable manner. Also, please look at some of the other posts and make proper links to the parts you propose to be added. Thanks
  6. Hi there It's really nice that you share your build here on Eurobricks and I just say the look really good. However, we prefer that people LDD MOCs in the respective theme. If you post here in the LDD section, you must share your LXF-file, and the work has to be of such kind that it can be of interest to other LDD builders to study techniques or similar. Anyway, keep up the good work I'm moving this to the Sci-Fi section.
  7. But the hats you used look cooler. The "old" cowboy hat looks kind of corny. And besides, in LDD it doesn't fit that good wrong as we all know. Oh, how I wish they'd fix that one. After all, how hard can it be (*blinking eye heavily towards TLG...).
  8. Are you sure? I remember that bug beeing fixed (don't have LDD here to test).
  9. Wooha...it looks great for next week. Not. Thank god these long term predictions are almost always wrong
  10. I probably won't have either Euros or much DKK. If you PM me your IBAN/BIC or PayPal I can send you the money now.
  11. Hi and welcome Scrubs. Really interesting work you got going here. An online Lego designer is an interesting step forward I think. Now I just got to install another browser
  12. Well, it also appears I didn't read very well since you did write you had XP 64 bit. To be honest, I didn't even know XP existed in a 64 bit version. Anyway, strange problem. It's as if installer has left some garbage behind that doesn't get uninstalled, thus making LDD think it's allready on the computer. Or the registry is corrupt. I'm not sure I have any more ideas right now. Maybe someone else here at the forum can help out.
  13. Hi Jim I would have said upgrade graphics drivers, but you seem to have checked that - and the problem appears also in safe mode which rules out graphcis drivers even more. You said you deleted all files. Was it in the "c:\Program Files (x86)" folder and the "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer" folder. I'm asking since you mentioned two other folders (program files without the x86 and a "Documents and Settings". I have Win7 64bit myself and have never experienced any problems.
  14. 4th EB RCB completed The 4th Eurobricks B RCB (Relay Community Build) was successfully completed last week. 16 builders have taken turn to make an impressive Pirate fort. The RCB was coordinated by Piratedave84 - many thanks to him for a great effort. And to all the builders off course. If you want to see the individual steps and download the finished model as a LDD file, head on over here
  15. Oh, my eyes are not what they used to be
  16. Hi Great looking cars. To post in the Digital Designer forum we kindly ask people to also post the LXF-files. That way the models become more interesting for other LDD builders who can study techniques used etc.
  17. It looks like the lip of the palisade is slightly thicker then the other. If you put them next to each other (in LDD), you can see the slight difference. I don't know if the palisade wall is correctly modelled in LDD, but if it is, I can understand why it won't fit. Do you have the palisade wall as a physcial brick to check with?
  18. Please notice there is allready a topic about some of your questions started only few days ago here
  19. Yes, that was exactly what I meant to. My point was that the TLG designers must have wanted a 2x14 for years and years, but had to work around it (just like us AFOLs). So why did they produce one now? My personal guess is that the cost of producing it was less then using a 2x8 and a 2x6 (for example). At the same time TLG has been on a continuous mission to reduce the number of part numbers (or at least they had a few years ago), and this seems to contradict that. And I guess that if a 2x14 is here, then what's on the horizon? A 1x5 brick? Time will tell.
  20. True about the cost. But naturally the set in that case would have to be slimmed down. Also, remember that the community is supporting the Old West town (can't remember the name), with now about 7000 votes, and that too has a huge brick count. But sure, maybe this wouldn't be the perfect model to promote. But as a concept it's interesting.
  21. That I agree on. And strange that they first now realize they need.
  22. Not sure I understand what you mean by "oddly enough"? It's a brand new piece, released in a set just a few few weeks ago. How can you expect it to be in LDD that fast.
  23. Very nice. But I'm not sure it's that much better then the old one to be honest, which I always found to be really good. Anyway, it's a very nice model that goes on the shopping list (along with all the rest ). BTW, do you know who designed it? It's going to be interesting to see if they also will re-release also the old anthagoinst Fokker dr 1. If not, I'd more prefer an old WWII bird, like the Mustang or Spitfire. Or maybe the Messerschmitt ME, but maybe those would be concidered to much "war toys"?
  24. Maybe this should be on CUUSOO? It feels like crowdsourcing driven to the extreme. Like that team that did the the Fiat Mio concept car, the worlds first crowdsourced car.
  25. Hi Yeah, for starters there is the complete LDraw catalogue of bricks, that can be converted to other formats. I don't know about importing to Maya though - maybe some of the Ldraw gurus here can answer that. I've also seen tons and tons of LEGO elements on Google Sketchup (actually kind of amazing the number of bricks re-created there). Once again, if they can be converted to other formats I don't know. LDD is unfortuantely not a source since those brick geometries are propriatry/hidden. Regarding the Lego minifig head size specifically, yes there should be engineering drawings around. I have seen one once, but can't remember right now where it was. EDIT: Here it was...on EB naturally http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=25570 EDIT2: More drawings: http://snively.blogspot.se/2009/04/lego-minifig-dimensions.html And for fun, the patent application (not really a patent as I understand, but a design protection, but nevertheless:) And the little guy
