I like the Wampa. The arms can't be avoided, but I'm really hoping it's more than just three pieces. Building is always, and always will be, the best part. Though as long as the rest of the set isn't one piece, I'll be fine.

Okay, first off the Nebulon-B is one of the most famous Rebel Ships... not ever mentioned by name, but the entire end of Episode V takes place aboard it. Sorry for the double post, but here's some evidence about the Clone Wars random ships: We have our Nu-Class Shuttle, so why do we need this? And this thing is just ugly! I agree with you, the Prequel Trilogy has a lot of random ships, but they are there, so why not make money from them?
-
I disagree. everything in the Clone Wars is obscure. I wouldn't mind the show so much if it weren't for the fact that the people who make it create a new ship everyday. In a recent episode, they invented 3 new ships with the exact same purpose as a Venator, a Nu Shuttle, and a Cruiser. Plus, the TIE Advanced is definitely an important ship, I have to say that there's no argument against that.

Very nice! Looks like the professional miniland-ers do it! I don't know about the trans balls, but it looks great to me! The table and person look stunning, and I like the shelf, although there is a lot of variation in the sticks. Shouldn't at least two be the same? Other than that, it's spectacular! By the way, is there a difference between Pool and Snooker? I'm too ignorant and American to know the difference. No... really.

Thanks (I actually understood what you were saying about the teeth!), but now you proposed to more questions! 1. What do driving rings do? I have been looking for pictures but so far, the only use I've found is the one in the picture you just posted, and I still don't see the purpose, though there obviously must be. 2. A. My PF truck that I made, still kind of a WIP, goes extremely slowly. The driving is an M-motor going through a gearbox like the one in the X-wing, pulling one axle. I know that's not a lot of detail, but here's more information: B. The drive motor is linked to a 2 cylinder engine (that's all I have ), and for some reason, when I tried gearing it down, it went even slower! How did that happen? I'm assuming that the weight the motor has to pull and the gears it has to turn is what makes the thing crawl, but why did my engine slow down when I geared it down? Shouldn't it have gone faster? Thanks!

Power Miners: Modified Lavatraz
Darth Legolas replied to Dunjohn's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The lava doesn't seem to have taken much work, just a lot of pieces. The rock is interesting, but personally it doesn't affect me. The thing that strikes me is the water cannon design. Sire, if water were that close to lava it would evaporate in seconds, but hey, if rock monsters were real, we'd all be dead. The design is great! I love how it can defend the base from all of those angles, and it looks very good too! Boy to I feel sorry for the guy who tips the cannon back too far. Nice job! -
Referring to this handy image from Sariel: What are 16 teeth gears good for besides connecting to themselves? I can't find any gear (and I have all teeth counts besides the 12 teeth gears) that links to them besides another one of them. Also, I'm planning on buying the Tractor with log loader sooner or later, and all I've heard about it from our handy review by Blakbird is that it needs more logs. How well does the power functions compressor work? Is it a good buy? Is that tractor worth it? How ugly is the loader? Now, one last question. I recently purchased the latest three technic mini sets, the Tractor, the Bulldozer, and the Mini Telehandler. Unfortunately, they all do pretty much the same thing, you twist the worm/spiral gear and the arms lift up and down. That also means, unfortunately, they all have the same problem. Because of gravity, when you twist the arms up, they have a smooth steady pace upwards, but when you twist them down they move shakily and pause a lot. When turned upside down, the reverse happens. I assume this is because when moving down, the force of the outwards arm is pushing down, so when you move it the way it wants to go, it will go down fast and skipping, in a way. When you move it up, it's your force against its, so it goes smoothly with an equal balance. Is there any way to fix this? Thank you!

How much did it cost to get all of those telescopes? Either way, it looks extraordinary as a railing. I think you should leave the windows white as they are though... I personally like similarities in design, so if you're going to make the rope holders gold, make them all gold, and if they're going to be pearl gray, make them all pearl gray. The blue flags/flaps I have no opinion on, as the dark blue looks much better, while the original pieces are thinner and look better in shape. Keep updating!

Thanks, but we already have pictures. It seems the NY Toyfair is coming up, hopefully they will have everything on display.

That's where sharpie paint comes in. It's like a really thick sharpie, so colors like white can be used, it's basically a paint marker. You don't want to use whiteout, because it's very, very thick and leaves a weird texture on the piece. Sharpie paint is as thin as regular sharpie when dried, but thick enough to go over other colors when wet.

Great call on the window! The MOC really does remind me of a senate suite, it works! The bounty hunter looks a little silly, but the techniques put in to him show a lot of effort!

I once opened an Assassin Droids battle pack, and I got an extra silver and an extra black torso, three extra silver arms arms, two flat, one bent, a silver and a black pair of legs, a silver head, and two silvers studs and a black stud. The only thing missing were the clips to attach the head, otherwise I could've made a fourth silver assassin droid.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try to get a broad point next time. I'm surprised there's ink variation just from widening the tip of the marker, but I'll sure try. I think that my answer your question, BlueBard, though I wouldn't go for it. I like the white hats better than the black ones, and in real life there is variation, I think you should leave them as is.

Really? I always thought black sharpie to be the worst! It does it's job well, but it comes out with a shiny purple...

It's from those guys from Brickset, they're not that big Star Wars fans, they just say enough to appeal to them. I remember reading back that he thought the Tantive IV was a fake because he had the old label, but then he realized it was the 10 year anniversary label. They know a lot more about other stuff though. I don't like the direction Palpy's shuttle is heading in... it seems like the prototype was bad and is getting worse. I'll go check the comments to see if they updated anything on Star Wars. EDIT: No, just a lot more on Harry Potter and the collectible figs. As far as I know, I don't have an account. Can someone here on Eurobricks go and ask about Greivous's Cockpit for me?
-
That's really, really accurate! It looks like exactly like the really thing, honestly you can barely tell the difference! I'm not train guy, but this looks like it took a lot of effort! I'd love to see some more!
-
So now that I'm pretty much finished with two of the parts of my big PF project, although they are completely unrelated, I decided I might want to start on a third, but I want to incorporate one of these: I know that somehow when you turn an axle in the back end the silver arm thing extends out, but I'd really like it if someone had pictures of how it's working on the inside. Thanks!

MOC: Airbus A380
Darth Legolas replied to reload's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Holy... and you didn't get a MOC expert badge? That thing is gigantic! And it's automated? That's insane! I love the plane so much.... and the best part is that it looks like a giant (properly scaled) version of the one Lego's made! I'd love to see some more. -
Power Miners Aprils fools joke? I have to see this. Can someone link me, please? But yes, things there are pretty sad...

We are talking about the cockpit on Greivous's fighter. I'd have to say Sok117, you could be right, but do you really think the blank white box where Han Solo is is being mass produced? There's no doubt in my mind that at least something will change in Grevious's fighter, considering all we have is an old prototype picture, and if anything is to change, why not the cockpit?
-
I totally agree with you. I'm willing to go for the CTT (because it looks great) and the Slave I (just because)... If Lego is going to charge that much for the ship, I have to say, if Lego doesn't fix that cockpit I hope absolutely nobody will buy it. Perhaps an accurate ship will be okay, but if they haven't updated the cockpit by the next picture we get, I will honestly... well I don't know what but the ship looks like... bad! The cockpit shoot look like a larger, more paneled/squareish but not square version of the old cockpit. The thing they have right now wouldn't be a bad piece, but it just doesn't work, at all. It should be shorter and much longer... the whole thing has to go. That thing is really ticking me off! Anyway, enough about the cockpit. I'm estimating the CTT will have about 860+ pieces, right? And then the Slave I will be about 600+ pieces. I don't know how big Cad Bane's speeder will be, and I'm clueless about the whole AT-AT and giant Endor set up... all we have as proof are a set number and minifigs, and I still think the AT-AT might be Hoth and the whole Endor idea isn't real... Perhaps the midi-scale Star Destroyer will have some play feature where you can pull a knob and open a hatch to release studs representing probe droid pods. That would be great. A midi Star Destroyer would be a bit bigger than you think, and the midi Falcon has plenty of room in its front for something to have been in there. (I use it to hide my extra Han Solos.)

I hate mine. I don't know why you want one, they look terrible. When I got my X-wing, I was a little disappointed but okay. I was prepared to ask for a replacement part if Lego sent the bad hair in my Death Star, luckily they did not, and the entire set was in top condition. (Although some of the building had to be a little different because Lego updated their old ski poles to the ugly short and fat new ones.) Hold it.... I can sell it for $90? Now this is something to consider...

I can tell you what you need to know. I'm no customizer, and that's for sure, but some easy tips I have are: 1. Use clay. If you have a good steady hand and find some good clay, your on your way to making great pieces. The most specific customizers love to use Sculpey. 2. If you're like woody64, you can magically go on the internet and create your own pieces, and them buy them all made. You'd have to ask him how he does it or what site he uses, but he can do it and it looks really good. 3. You can look through the tutorials, here (link.)
