^^"for it's time"? Planet of the Apes would be a good movie if it was released tomorrow in my view. It's proper sci-fi in that it raises a whole bunch of questions about the way we live by recontextualising issues like sexism, racism, hunting, the Bomb. It's rare to get something that wide ranging today. Star Trek 1-10 - yup, Khan is the best but I liked all of the original crew ones. Skyfall - Daniel Craig is getting better, the storylines aren't. Cloud Atlas - either totally brilliant or pretentious nonsense, I haven't decided yet. Maybe both? This is as wide ranging as PoTA. Great performances from Doona Bae, Hugh Grant, Hugo Weaving, Jim Broadbent. John Carter - much much much better than expected. Wolverine - less bad than expected, Hugh Jackman was pretty good. Escape from New York - Snaaake! Amazing that people would think of turning the world's most expensive real estate into a prison. Times change! Lee van Cleef and Kurt Russell dream team.

Totally agree. Both sets are excellent and especially at this price. For me, I prefer the Spidey set because it has wheels and that means better playability for my son. I had to convert the batboat with wheels - he did like the pizza shooters though. Excellent figs in both, and great vehicles too.

Awesome, Ska! I wanted to make a warrior scene as well - am in Japan now and I will have a 1-day build window before going to Vietnam next week so it should be possible. I just found a bunch of MISB dragon and lion knight battle packs at the Tokyo lego shop for 1575 yen. I wan planning an all-mummy army but maybe I should buy some? Any views?

I wanted to make a vig around it but I figured time was too short, now I should be able to send one. The PGTC is starting to draw down its commodity stockpile, in anticipation of a decisive Victory. The good news - I have my story. The bad news - very little building time, I'm travelling a lot in March and I have 6 scenes to set up. Expect a slightly different style of build from me, sparsely elegant for the challenge!

You control the action, kabel. I think it will be hard for the judges to distinguish the battle scenes, so I am not planning one as a main build, although the storyline seems to need some type of conflict/resolution. I'm thinking more "War and Peace" eg the story around the war.

All immigrants welcome. I think this castle looks pretty decent for a toy, and I think it will bring kids in to the theme. Drawbridge, portcullis, catapults, hidden treasure, lots of play features to like. But Oh My Goodness the heraldry is awful. Crownielions I'm fine with, and I love the armour, but the worst Lion shield should be left to hide in shame at the bottom of the drawer and this new dragon (?) is even worse. Does anyone like either of them? I have seen a lot of people don't, but I'm curious if anyone changed to a more positive view. ^IThe other sets look intriguing. The dragon is a must after I missed the fantasy one and the HP one.
