  1. The bow is indeed a bit strange but outside of that it's a very nice ship. Certainly for an LDD creation. I especially like the stern. The tan details fit very well there. The teaser of the new ship is nice too, you're using good techniques. I would only suggest to give it another small curve inwards as you can see here: As you can see there's a small curve inwards around the middle gundeck. Good luck!
  2. Looks nice. I'm looking forward to the full review. I don't hope someone has just bought a maersk blue helmet for about 400 euros on bricklink
  3. Most of us just post a new post in a single WIP thread. If you change the first post, the comments don't fit the pictures anymore. And when it's finished it's ok. to make a new thread ofcourse. Nice pictures by the way. You can't use many different techniques with only one bricktype but it sure is impressive with all the gold
  4. Nice ship. That's worth a blog. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] It has a nice mix of realistic colours and the shape is quite good as well. The square sails are a bit too small and placed too high IMO. But on a fantasy ship that's not a big problem. What I would change though is the position of the anchor. Just turn it in the opposite direction like this: And perhaps a flag or banner would be nice. I'm looking forward to the folder turning to public
  5. Looks quite good already I like the colourscheme and techniques you're using. The shape could use some work though. I don't know exactly how to make it right, but I would try to make it more like this: At least make the poop deck/stern cabin higher and more curved upwards. And perhaps you could also make a sort of extra cabin on top of it, like on the picture you showed. Hop that helps. Good luck. I expect great things of this WIP
  6. I like the use of bowchasers and it's great that the deck is modular. The masts look a bit better now, but they are indeed a bit skinny. Perhaps you could make the part from the deck to crow's nest a bit shorter. You could also use these parts for the thinner mast part (like I did on the Vesta) but they are quite rare. But perhaps it's a better idea to finish the interior first before you start worrying about the masts Anyway, you're making good progress. Keep it up!
  7. Looks nice. The kilt is better (though it's perhaps nice to print one of those small bags on it) and I think the hat is good too. The torso could also use a little work to make it look more like the picture of the real-life soldiers. But you did a good job
  8. That's a nice piece of work. It looks very professional. I like it how managed to put everything in the cooking area that should be there. The scale is also good.
  9. Very tough choice.. I think it really depends on what features you think are important. When it comes to seaworthiness, I'd go for the SES. The masts are shorter and is has 2 latin sails (IF only 1) and latin sails make a ship easier manouvrable. Also, the rigging and sails arrangement of SES is more realistic. IF should have another latin sail and the one it has shouldn't have a separate mast IMO. They seem to have the same amount of cannons, but if you also count the small ones, SES is better armed, and it has a better figurehead. The only real good point about the IF is that it has more brown parts, which are more useful when you build your own ships. So I choose the SES for seaworthyness, but when it comes to minifigs and useful parts, I'd go for the Imperial Flagship.
  10. Looks good. I like the shape and colours. Some small things you could change: -Make the rudder white -Make the bow more like this (CGH's frigate): So the figurehead almost reaches the main deck level and the bowsprit is pointing upwards instead of being horizontal. And finally you could remove the not-sloped part just above the stern, and make the black line run all across the ship (right now it gets interrupted by one brown sloped brick. Outside of that it's a very nice ship and I'd love to see it made IRL. Good luck!
  11. Great that you're doing this again Mine is the same as last year, which is this one: But I'd like to have a croissant this time, if that's possible
  12. That's nice! Even though it's quite gruesome. The mice look very complex, but excellent. The braille text is also a nice detail. And I'm surprised that the meat cleaver keeps balanced because such a large part is isn't leaning on anything.
  13. Ow I'm sorry about the misunderstanding of my picture. Actually I only showed it because of the sloped stern I know it's not a full schooner. It's a so-called topsail schooner. Good luck anyway.
  14. Very nice! Beautiful shape and I like this colourscheme more. I only think the stern would look better if it were protruding a little more and a bit sloped like this: (right now only the coloured part around the stern is protruding which I don't like much. Is your ship going to be a schooner? Do you have a reference picture?
  15. Good that you finally managed to post pictures here It's a rather nice minifig, and you did well on the customizing. I only think that the torso doesn't match the coats on the pictures very well. It's perhaps the best fitting torso from the library, but perhaps it's better to modify it yourself a bit. On the picture the coat has more buttons, and every button has this white or yellow around it. Good luck!
  16. This deserves a spot on the frontpage. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] I've seen the chandelier in previous MOCs, but it's just a very clever piece of work and suits in many MOCs. But there are also many other great things here, like the cannon, the rumbarrel, the model ship and the fish My only suggestions for improvements are to remove the gunport hatch as that's usually on the outside, and to remove the ladder (and perhaps give it a proper stair), it's a nice design, but I think most ships would have normal stairs to the poop deck. But it's a well-deserved blog
  17. Most of this hull is quite good to build a ship on. I like the technique you used. I think it would suit quite well on a galleon, but on almost any ship of the pirate-era, the shape of the stern isn't as flat as yours below water level. So the part where the rudder is attached to should be more curved, like this for example: Good luck!
  18. I agree with everyone else. It's a nice MOC. Very classic, yet original and I like the waterfall, tower and used techniques. Only too bad that the cannons seems a bit out of balance (I mean that the front isn't pointing upwards). And why is there a fire in the building in the right corner? Because the boat goes into it? Good job anyway
  19. I had a try and it worked. use this link:http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4903264 click the image 1 more time, copy the link and paste it in the forum (so [image]link[/image] )

Your pictures are a bit too large though. It would be better if you resize them a bit first. Good luck!

  20. I think you've had enough advice for now I agree with the others. It can have some improvement, but it's quite a good ship already. Just keep looking close at model ships and replica's and I'm sure it will turn out nicely. Good luck!
  21. Too bad. C was the only contest I participated..can't we continue in a secret forum? Well..there will be enough contests in the future. It isn't such a big issue.
  22. So you're in fact "hooked on cook" I must say this ship looks very promising. It's already very recognizable the Endeavour and I see that you're working close to the real ship. My only idea for improvement is to make the brown line (between the black and yellow one) a bit thicker. On the real ship that 'line' is almost twice as thick as the black line beneath it. That's all, good luck! I'm looking forward to the next update.
  23. Nice pictures. Good job on the plumes and the painting. I still think you should upload the pictures. What is your member name on brickshelf?

  24. Open an image in paint, save it as jpeg or png, then upload it on brickshelf and then you can deeplink them.

  25. The images must be saved in the right format. JPEG and PNG should work.
