  1. I don't see many green ships around here, but it doesn't look bad and I've seen it before in a realistic comic series The curve in the gunport line is nice too. I would only remove the side window closest to the stern on both sides. If ships don't have real side galleries, there's usually just one side window on each side. Good luck with this ship. You could try to make the same gunportline curve on the Swordmaiden.
  2. I like the colours, and the use of these. The only thing that bothers me is the edgy bow. Perhaps it's better to make a SNOT boat, or use a prefab bow. Good luck on the sails anyway.
  3. I see you made some good progress It looks teriffic. The gunports and the curved black lines look very good. The pumps seem interesting too. I'd like to see better pictures of them some day. Good luck with moving house! And, since I believe many people have been looking forward to a new update, and because the next update will take a while again: [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  4. Looks a lot better already with bow and stern piece The gunports line looks a bit boring though IMO. The deck is everywhere of the same width except for a small part at the stern. And the gunports are all at the same height. I think it would look more interesting and professional if you made more of a curve in the deck and in the gunline. The deck should already get more narrow before the side galleries. Good luck!
  5. Looks quite good. But you could try to spread the gunports more over the entire side. Right now almost all of the gunports are centered in the middle, and in the front and back there are no gunports. Perhaps it would also look nice if you would place the middle gunports lower than the others. Make the side more curved. My other two suggestions are very small and easy to do. So shorten the rudder with 2 studs and remove those 3 bricks at the bow with a circle around it. The cutwater is always very thin and doesn't run smoothly into the bow (as you can see here).
  6. These are terrific! I especially found the last one very recognizable. The MOC's all have some great features. I like the waves in the first one, the well and arches in the second and how the dog holds the key in the third. And welcome to Eurobricks. Good introduction
  7. Yes there are many other histirical and replica ships. If you have good pictures of one of those, don't hesitate to post them
  8. You could also visit the Batavia instead And here's the Index article of the Batavia.
  9. NOTE: This thread should be used for indexing purposes only. All discussion can be done in this thread. I have visited this ship 3 or 4 times, and I think these pictures are taken on 2 different days. I decided to start with an overall view, then some pictures of the stern towards the bow and finally some random pictures. You can click the link on the bottom of each picture to see a short description. Here is the official website, and here is the Wikipedia article. 10. Good job. The hair on Chun-Li and T. Hawk looks excellent. Especially Hawk's hair. I like how you made, and painted the tie (or tape) and the feather. Vega's face decal looks nice as well
  11. Thanks for the tips. I knew about GIMP. But I think I'll stick with paint Squirlz bay be a good idea though. I think I'll give it a try some time.
  12. Looks promising. Although the main beam of the headrails could use a bit more of a curve. I like the colourscheme. It does look quite dutch, mainly brown and with some colour at the forecastle and around the mizzen mast. But the stern is usually the most beautiful part, with the most details, so I'm looking forward to the next update.
  13. Well for the curve you could also use these or these. You could also bend 1x2 bricks like Hoxbroe did here, or just make it go wider with a stud difference. As for the hull pieces..I don't know. You only need 1 bow and 1 stern piece so 1 ship should be enough. The number of normal hull pieces depends on the ship you want to make. A frigate uses about 5-6, a merchant ship 4-5, something like that. 7 or more easily makes it look a bit odd. Good luck! (and welcome to our forum by the way)
  14. You can add the Shtandart to the first post here I'll do Amsterdam and Batavia later.
  15. NOTE: This thread should be used for indexing purposes only. All discussion can be done in this thread. I visited the Shtandart when she came to Makkum (Friesland) close to where I live. Here is a link to the official website, and here is one to the wikipedia article. The Flickr thread also contains short descriptions.
  16. Just to make things clear (for other bloggers) the whitecap bay review is [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  17. You couldn't know about it but I believe we decided to do the PotC stuff (even though it's licensed) in the Pirate Forum. So if you make more reviews you could place them there. That's also where I'm going to blog it [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] Thanks for the review! The pictures are very clear and the set looks interesting.
  18. You're indeed making good progress The colourscheme and the yellow curve in the side look good. I have 2 suggestions for improvement though. First the deck curve. I think this image explains a lot: Your deck is more like the green line, but I think the red one looks better. So actually the deck gets wider all the way towards the bow, and then it gets narrow very fast. The other thing is to make the black railing of the poop deck slope more fluently, like this: I'm looking forward to the next update
  19. They all look great again. Especially Sandman. His 'base'(legs) has some gaps in it though, and on most pictures it looks much smoother. But the rest is artwork
  20. Looks excellent with those railings Only too bad that you had to place all those headlight bricks on the deck. But in grey that's not such a big problem. I also like the barrels on the deck. Perhaps you could make water around it at water level in the future.
  21. What I said was: So the 'blue' ones can be removed, I don't think they have much influence on the bowsprit.
  22. I don't quite get what you mean. He means it gets on the classic-pirates.com frontpage. So if you click this link tomorrow, you'll see a picture and short story about this topic.
  23. Well well, what a small world. I'm from Leeuwarden too Welcome to Eurobricks and I'm looking forward to see some of your MOC's. Do you also like Pirate Lego? That would be nice too.
  24. That was an April Fool's Day joke. We weren't really banned and therefore we could just post.We were banned zero-utlaws (so with 0 instead of O) so it was a newly created group with different abilities. Sounds like a great idea Can you also replace it by entire sentences? That would open a world of possibilities
  25. Beautiful ship! [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] It looks very smooth and professional. The colours are nice and it has the right proportions. I especially like the red deck details and the windlass. The drawing is also quite nice. My only small idea for improvement is to place the brown sticks on the sides (where the white ropes are attached to) just above the black line instead of beneath it. Outside of that it looks good. Are you going to add sails? Would look great too. By the way, wikipedia says she resqued 200 men at Trafalgar. Must have been quite crowded! Well..perhaps they were brought to other ships.
