  1. Very cool, and more than meets the eye, too. Like others have noticed,I like how they look like part of the same unit yet are also individual too. That can be hard to pull of, especially at such a small scale I find. I really like the asymmetrical radar dishes or searchlights or whatever they are, and the way they attach and the tilting rear area to allow the smaller one to roll off properly and presumably rejoin the larger one too.
  2. Nice work on this one! The proportions are really good, and I think that's a great use of those larger tan pieces. My favourite detail has to be those brilliant, spindly wheels on the bottom of the bloated fuselage. The way you've integrated the engines into the wings is also a nice touch.
  3. Very cool! I loved watching Knight Rider re-runs as a kid, and tried to make my own KITT MOC back then. I seem to remember it was mostly black, had a printed grille and er.....big red wheels that stuck out to the side I like the scale you've built it at, and it looks like a true classic town set with a slight modern twist, though I personally would have used slightly larger tires, though I expect they'd throw off the scale a little. The truck is nice too, I especially like the simple yet effective pinstriping effect down the side.
  4. I also got two Vulture Droid promo sets. It's a nice little set with some useful pieces. I was going to scrap mine for parts, but looking at it I think it's really cute...it's also made me want to get the larger set, the bomber variant that was released maybe two years ago. Which by now is probably overly expensive. Should have got it when it was first avaialble!
  5. AHH! the Insectoid noisey-light up engine piece. I love that piece. Good usage of it, too. I like the little bulbous parts as well, and your lighting is superb. Your use of the transparent green grille peices on top of the engine piece really gives it that extra depth that I wish i could achieve with mine - alas, I only have one or two of said piece, and using black or grey wouldn't even achieve half of that awesome effect. Well done, I know it can be a difficult piece to work with.
  6. I think that was more to do with morality issues than trademarks. People often get upset when religious monuments and the like are used in fiction in a way that they seeto be offensive. I think the change was because the violence happening inside offended the group who made the complaints. My favourite figures in this wave have to be the alien and space woman because of their Sci-Fi appeal, alongside the bandit and Celtic warrior (these ones mainly for the accessories) and finally the Minotaur and the Mechanic...because greek mythology and Rockabilly hair are awesome. After skipping all of series 5, looks like I've got a fair amount of bag groping ahead of me....because I'm weird in that if I'm buying a figure just for the parts, I have to buy another of the figure to keep whole "for the collection".
  7. This is a really great little building. I love the angles and the detail on the wall, especially the little angled roof on top. So simple yet very effective. I'm a big fan of ramshackle buildings, tan colours and MOCs of workshops so this certainly ticks some of my boxes. That little crane looks very nice, too, I think it's my favourite detail.
  8. Well you've certainly set yourself a task; but it''ll definitely be fun checking your Advent calendar MOCs out. Good luck! So far the models you've created are great. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest. Good luck!
  9. Very nice. I think they're instantly recognizable though I'd say that perhaps the Aacklay looks a little chunky though. I think increasing the length of the lower legs by just one or two studs would sort that out though it's still nice as is. The Nexu may be a little flimsy if it's ever goign to be made in real bricks but who cares? these look awesome
  10. I think Alien Conquest will be a one-wave theme. Whilst there are a lot of good idea for further sets in this thread, I think a lot of them are too "modern" and don't fit in with the B-Movie style sets from the first wave. Well, there could be a few more ADU centric sets but really as far as the aliens go a lot of the B Movie stereotypes have been used up; at least as far as the target audience is concerned. I imagine Alien Conquest will be discontinued come Summer. Maybe sooner, the final wave of Space Police 3 didn't get long before it was removed from the LEGO site
  11. I think that this has just the right amounts of detailing and functionality to pass for a proper LEGO set. I really like how you've gotten the brown tiles inside the truck, and the lift gate is very well done - simple yet effective. I'm not as keen on the colour scheme though, I think there are far too many white city vehicles out there though of course, they're probably where you got your pieces from! either way, I think the lime stripe adds a nice break in the colouration. Very nice.
  12. A few - a reduced Toa Nuparu Mahri in the early months of '08 then the smallest of the wave one Agents sets - the one with a jetpack and a snowmobile, then some newspaper promotions around the October of '08 coupled with Pillage the Village contest over on Classic Pirates bought me out of my dark ages.
  13. Nice MOC! I'm a fan of steampunk and the "head in a jar" concept for MOCS, so this gets a thumbs up from me. With regards to posting images to the forum, it's quite easy when you get the hang of it. Firstly, you would go to Flickr in your case and right-click your image. Select "Image properties" then copy and paste the link you find in the information box. Apart from that, here's a nice tutorial by Shadows: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18451
  14. I found my long-lost Axel figure from the Rock Raiders theme at the bottom of the laundry basket, and I found a Playmobil figure, some LEGO western rifles and a few yellow bricks in a crack in the ground in my garden. I'd lost all of them myself, so they were more rediscoveries I suppose.
  15. Very cool, they look just like them! Papa Smurf looks cool but I prefer the expression on the other one - the sticking out tongue detail is really well made.
  16. Nice idea, I like how you've made the parts look like they're on a sprue. I've tried my hands at these kinds of model kits before too, but really I prefer LEGO - like you say, no glue or cutting needed - and if you make a mistake you can easily take it apart again. I'd be too worried building a model with glue that I'd ruin it and waste a nice set! I like the Gundam type mechs/robots too. They're very well made and detailed for their size. Nice work
  17. the Ice Cutter was the vehicle in the Hoth Rebel battle pack. It appears briefly in a scene in ROTS in the hangar in Echo Base, and I believe Luke uses one to fend off some wompas in a deleted scene, too.
  18. Thanks for the nice review of a handy looking little parts pack! I've considered buying this, but really I can't see myself using a lot of the parts, save for the trans-yellow 1X1s so I don't think it would be an economical purchase for me considering that. The gold pieces do look tempting though....and I have been wanting to try out some dark tan in mocs...I just can't see myself making much use of 2X2 bricks. Perhaps if the dark tan were 1X1....oh well, thanks for helping me make my mind up. Also REALLY nice to see some Agents characters getting involved...I miss that theme
  19. As usual, nice work Legostein. Very creative use of pieces. My favourite is the Theta class shuttle, it almost looks like it could be an official LEGO mini. Keep up the good work!
  20. I really like the skeletal look of those wings; I think it makes the ship look aggressive and very fast. I think this is perhaps the first time I've seen a Technic Vic Viper and I'm certainly impressed though I have to say my favourite detail is the lovely, simplistic cockpit.
  21. Great details here, and the livery is spot on. Nice work. As already stated before, the curves are very good too and really help capture the vehicle. I was expecting to see some lime green and orange, though, but a quick Google search proves that your choice of colour seems accurate.
  22. Very nice, I used to love Babar when I was little. Brings back memories.
  23. I saw your review - did you manage to fix it so that both sides open properly? every review I've seen of this set seems to have the same problem Nice review! I have to say I'm looking forward to being able to get this set, though I think the transformation is a little odd. Still, nice that it was included and it does look kind of cool...when it pops out all the way on both sides. Nice pictures, too
  24. This is a nice selection of scenes from the film displayed in a nice way. I really like the Batpod, and my favourite figures have to be the Joker's henchmen - very nice choice of face.
  25. I also concur! While I'm fine with licenses in general, I think that over the past few years LEGO has become more and more license-orientated. I can see why they're doing it, but I think licenses also restrict imagination; LEGO is only doing half the job, whereas original LEGO themes are just that, completely original and I prefer them. To be honest, in maybe ten years time I'm almost expecting LEGO to only produce licensed sets. That would be a shame.
