Sorry to hear that! I'm hopefully goingto be investing in this set soon, hopefully I'll enjoy it a little more though it's disheartening to hear this. Still, I intend to modify mine anyway so it might not be that big a deal for me at the end of the day - just might eat into my supply of lime pieces more than I'd hoped it would.

Very nice poster! that poor Minifig... I'd love to see these sorts of posters here in the UK, those NHS ones look rather good...I wonder if they'll be showing up? something to keep my eyes out for next time I'm afflicted with something.

An outstanding MOC. This really shows off how versatlie the new Hero Factory system can be, and it's also a great version of Splitface. It's definitely made my fortnight-long wait for my copy of the set a little less bearable! I tried making a torso similar to the one you've made here, but sadly was missing a few pieces from my recent PaB order to finish it properly. AH well! I love the use of gunmetal here too...and the usage of the new Ninjago blade as a weapon....hmm...I wonder if we'll see that in the Summer? perhaps alongside a motorcycle....and purple?... Very nice inspring MOC!

As far as the leaks from the retailer catalogues will have us believe then you are correct - no new Space theme for 2012. I'm sure we'll get one in 2013 though.

Up until now, I always thought that the emblems that the ninja wear were stylised depictions of the dragons for each respective ninja.

Nice review - I've enjoyed all of your Friends reviews so far, they're certainly helping me to whittle down which ones to get for which pieces and in which of the fancy new colours. I can tick this one off of my list - looks like a pretty poor value for your tenner and I can see that the cheaper sets could contain a better sleection of parts for my MOCs. Thanks for the great review anyhow - and good luck with tracking down your "BFF Book" or whatever guff it is you've got to subject yourself to in order for you to have this mysterious "gift" from the Argos gods bestowed upon you...hopefully it's one of the recently revealed Polybag sets but I'm kind of expecting it to be something underwheling.

No word on availability yet, though I expect these to be a newspaper promo here in the UK and in the Halloween/Easter selection at Wal Mart/ Target in the US. Really though, they could turn up anywhere. Keep checking Brickset, they usually have good info about these kinds of things.

VIP Exclusive 850458 LEGO® Minifigures set
Rocketbilly replied to Thego's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Ithink by "set" they just meant the figures themselves, presented as a set of figures, rather than the traditional building set you seem to be thinking of. -
Monster Fighters 2012
Rocketbilly replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Ninjago is not "<insert that tiresome argument>" - it's got a story that appeals to youngsters, yes, but the sets themselves use standadrd LEGO pieces, with the exception of the big dragon heads and perhaps the odd BURP or two, depending if you see them as "<insert that tiresome argument>" elements. -
That's a good theory, I could imagine something like that. I thought that maybe, somehow, the ninjas are betrayed by Lord Garmadon and imprisonned at the end of these Winter anmiations. Sensei Wu and he who is destined to be the Green Ninja flee and return to rescue the other ninjas a while later when the Green Ninja has matured.....or something. Regarding filtering the name out to avoid spoilers: it's a good idea but since this chatacters name might get mentioned out of context in other discussions not relating to who the Green Ninja is, it'd come up as a spoiler and thus....spoil it still. Doesn't seem like much we can do.

I bought two 7959 Geonosian Starfighters yesterday and recieved a Mandalorian Battlepack for Christmas. I just have to hunt myself down a Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship and an Imperial V-WIng and I'm all done for the 2011 sets. OK, maybe a second Clone Battle Pack too..

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Rocketbilly replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Brickmaster no longer exists. These will probably turn up in a newspaper promotion here in the UK and during Easter and Halloween at Target or Walmart or at Toys R US when you spend a certain amount of money in the US. These are the usual ways of obtaining these sets as of late, but they could turn up anywhere I suppose. The Star Destroyer looks good for parts and is a decent mini model, if you're into that. I prefer the STAP myself, that's a great standalone set and I'ma big fan of the similar blue Clone Wars version of this polybag released a couple of years back so I'll be looking to pick this one up. -
Very nice MOC! I prefer the tiled bonnet myself, the plates do indeed capture the shape better but they also make the car look a little flimsier. Your Mad Max car is also really good.

True - perhaps, say, two Hero Vs. Villain sections per episode could be ok, with the first in the series containing the introduction and the last, of course, the conclusion. Still might be a bit long, though. There doesn't seem to be that much plot this time, though - even less than usual. "Villains escape and scatter around the universe. Heroes hunt them down". Perhpas that means the episodes will be more action packed. Though if it's a one hour special we're getting, of course....it could be a very linear series of short battles, bookeneded with a conclucion and introduction.
-
I'd say that was definitely possible. An episode that showed each character fighting their respective villain would be a little too choppy, I think, especially given that there are a lot of locations we'd see in the one episode. Sure, it could be possible to fit them all in in some way... but it would make more sense this way.

The website is running really well now, the problems I was experiencing a few weeks back have all stopped. I still get slowness or a page that doesn't load from time to time but they're infrequent and used to happen anyway. If anything I'd say they were problems with my internet connection and not the Eurobricks Server.

I've found a review of Destiny's Bounty - I've read the thread back a few days an haven't seen anyone else post the link so here it goes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpAppSquByo&list=PL75BDD33A6DA91E5A&index=1&feature=plpp_video

You and me both! this wave seems awfully small if these are the only sets we're getting. I was definitely expecting more than one large boxed set.

Images of the Summer Hero Factory sets are on youtube. Not sure if providing a link is ok, but they'll be easy enough to find. Stringer with blue secondary colour is weird. Core Hunter looks awesome as well as XT4, looks very much like Meltdown, which is great. They look ok, very preliminary though by the looks of things. Seems to be a small wave this time, too, unless there's more. Titan Stormer looks awesome though, if a bit odd it's certainly refreshing that he's not another Fire Lord variant.

Monster Fighters 2012
Rocketbilly replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hmm looks like the female character that flies the little autogyro thing in the set with the mummy chariot is some sort of mechanic. She appears to have a wrench/spanner in her hair and a new crossbow piece with a clip on top much like the new Dino tranquilizer gun. Speaking of the Dino tranquilizer gun, it appears in the werewolf set in brown with a gold telescope used as a scope and a golden fez piece at the end of the barrel. Very cool. -
Monster Fighters 2012
Rocketbilly replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Wow! this is exactly what I wanted this theme to be and more. NO complaints from me here, this is perhaps one f the best themes ever in my opinion....and I've only seen the prelims... I can't see one set that is without merit, special mention for the hearse and castle. I know what theme I'm saving for now. There's one theme I regret not getting every set of before my dark ages and that was without a doubt the Studios Horror movie line. With this theme I can get all the classic Universal Monsters style sets I want without the slightly naff Studios gimmick. Only thing though...what is the vehicle in the "mad scientists lab" supposed to be? it looks like the front part of a truck and that's it. Maybe it's just the blurry image....the rest looks fantastic. -
Great news, Thanks for keeping Eurobricks so smooth and fast!

Sound advice, and I concur! Though it's always fun to see what's coming up, some times it can be a curse...and we've not even seen the sets in UK shops yet....I want my Splitface!! But I'm really looking forward to seeing if we'll be getting a new Stringer - and that he'll be a "deluxe" sized bagged set...more black pieces the better in my opinion.
