  1. I was doing some eBay shopping for a certain minifig, and tried searching by "price: lowest to highest". I came across these Lego knock-off brand sets, and had a great time browsing through the... unique creations. There's a few I'd like your opinion on... #1. I guess it's a raft? with some sort of fluorescent space buoy on the side? I also like how there is a grappling hook, but no string to attach it. I would say the cable is an important aspect to a winch, but I'm not an engineer... #2. The most stable platform for transporting missiles? A tractor of course. And don't worry about a proper launcher, we'll put that sucker right on the front bumper! Then again, maybe it's not supposed to be a missile, but that's the first thing I envisioned... #3. Some intense SNOT work on this one. Is it a scooter? A motorcycle? I find the pieces on the side to be a bit random... And the operator's vest is simply stunning. #4. This one is my personal favorite. How could something like this make it past the design stage to production??? What on earth is this thing? Why a trike design instead of a quad? What is it supposed to be? So many questions... All things considered, most of the clone brand sets on eBay are pretty cool looking. I obviously can't speak for the quality, but at least they looked like real things! Anyone have any ridiculous Lego clone brand pics? I'd love to see an example of the quality compared to TLG products...
  2. Wow. That half-sunk X-wing is phenomenal!!! Great work.
  3. I wasn't expecting such a detailed interior!!! Looks amazing man, great job.
  4. This is really impressive. The overall detail is unreal!!! I would agree with the comments above about the water, but you'll figure it out, from the looks of it you know what you're doing! Great job man.
  5. What a great idea. As soon as I saw the mech with different loadouts it took me back to my Mechwarrior 2 days... It was always a great time customizing your mech's attachments. based on the mission. I think I might too...
  6. Great job man!!! Great atmosphere and love the glow in the dark!! I think this scene is only in the extended edition LOTR Return Of The King, not the theatrical version.
  7. This ^ was one of the highlights for me as well haha Besides, of course, that incredible Mechanized Terror... Great Job man!!!!!
  8. The "engine core" is very cool! Your sketches are very interesting, I find the 6 panels on the bottom right to be very organic looking, almost like how a beetle opens it's exoskelton to unfold it's wings. Great MOC!
  9. No matter what your preference is, make sure you always bring a red space minifig on away missions...
  10. Hahaha is that the suit that's making him sweat? Or........
  11. Thanks Sci-Mocs!! I checked out the site for Brickfete... It's two days before my birthday! Hahaha that's certainly a valid reason to make a road trip.
  12. Hello from Nova Scotia! I have a question for any East Coasters/Maritimers... Are there any Lego functions that happen anywhere around here? I always look with envy at people who go to Brickcon and the like... I would love to attend something like that. Or even find a couple fellow brick-heads who want to road trip to one? I wonder if I could somehow visit a jobsite in Ontario so I could call it a work trip and claim the mileage...
  13. Couple posts I agree with/relate to... Hahaha I'm with you 100%! I never hide my love of Lego, my friends sometimes make fun a bit when they come by and see me buried in a box, but they know it's my hobby, and deep down they all think it's cool too. I have a friend who just graduated from Dalhousie for engineering, whenever he's by he loves checking things out and tinkering with stuff. Even my more smart-a$$ friends who like to make fun will only say harmless things like "Dude, these guys with the bow and arrows in the tower don't have much cover", then laugh. I'll laugh along but on the inside I'm like "Hmmm. Good point. I need more protection up there." This happened to me too, at Toys R Us, two young brothers were trying to decide on which set their parents would buy them, and I just threw out a couple comments about why one was much better than the other, and their mom looked at me like I was Hannibal Lector. I don't judge her on being protective, but come on! If it's what we're into, why does age matter? It's not like when a kid learns a sport their Coach is their age. With age comes wisdom, but I guess it's just the world we live in, don't talk to strangers.
  14. It's hard to see because of the quality... (my apologies) but outside of the door there is a hole in the floor with a ladder leading up to it... But to get to the ladder? Well that's the mystical secret of the tower!!! Oooooooooo!!! In other words, I have no idea. Hahaha
  15. I've broken out of my Lego dark ages last year, and I have been snatching up every set I can, but my favorite strategy is to just hover around Kijiji.ca (local online classified) for Lego. There are so many kids that sell their entire collections (am I ever glad my mom held onto mine all these years). As well as local thrift stores that get a set donated and sell it for next to nothing. I love scavenging Lego! What a great hobby
  16. Haha you nailed it... when I'm in the middle of a build I'll pillage my constructed sets for certain pieces... And the ones I don't like are the first to be attacked!!! Muahahaha
  17. I'm not one to argue, and I'm a noob when it comes to the AFOL world... But wouldn't the Star Destroyers be considered microscale? They include an ISD for scale to the SSD, it looks like what I would call microscale, but I could be wrong?
  18. Hello to all! I recently acquired another Lego collection off of Kijiji.ca, (a local online classified). I find there is a collection on there at least once a week, kids growing up wanting $$$ for things like laptops and smartphones... Anyways, this box had a bunch of Castle-themed pieces, including these great green roof pieces I believe are from a Harry Potter set? I threw this little tower scene together while I was assimilating his collection into mine. It's crude, but I like it, and it was fun to build during the sorting process! Have a great day Legopolis!
  19. Wow!!! It looks amazing man. I love the targeting computer!!! 10/10
  20. Justicar and Hazzard are my favs, you did an awesome job with the hoses crossing over one-another it looks very industrial. Great Job!!!
  21. I love it!!!!!!!! Man was i ever obsessed with the X-Wing/TIE Fighter games back in the day. It's awesome to see it come back to life in Lego. Great job man!
  22. Looks awesome! Great job mounting it too. And you're right, why doesn't Wedge ever get any kudos?!? haha
  23. The fact that you added that burning/melting technique where the saber blade meets the book just rounded the whole thing out for me. Very very very very cool.
  24. Wowwwwwwwwwwww I love the Eclipse!!! What a great job. Can you take a close-up of the nose-superlaser when it's finished? Great great great work.
  25. That's not a moon..... It's a train station.
