  1. What do you guys think the chances are that the next modular will be a corner building? That way a complete 3x4 block could be created if you have all ten buildings. Unless they wait for the twelfth modular to create a 4x4 block.
  2. Not a question, but rather an advice to anyone having a hard time deciding which set to buy: I bought the 10188 Death Star some time back and got around to build it last weekend. It truly is a masterpiece. It's by far the best Lego Star Wars set ever made and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everybody that doesn't have it yet. Skip the mediocre sets and save your money for this one, it's worth it. All my other SW sets (MF, TIE, X-Wing, all Hoth related sets, etc) eventually got tucked away and stored in the basement. But the Death Star will be kept on display for as long as I have space. The build is fun (and long), the model looks great, and it has more play features than any other set. It is the ultimate Lego set, all categories.
  3. Wrong thread, please remove.
  4. Most sellers have a minimum order total, but some allow you to buy just one piece. Bricklink is like a portal where sellers can setup their own stores. You place your order in the sellers store through bricklink, but the payment is made directly to the seller. Make sure you buy from A UK store to keep shipping cost down, especially if you just order a few pieces.
  5. A very strong contender for "set of the year". Parisian Restaurant and the MINI Cooper will be up there as well.
  6. Received and built the set today. It might just be my favorite lego set of all time. Every little thing about it oozes top quality; the mini-figs, the extremely sturdy ecto 1, the box, instructions, parts - everything! And the build was very enjoyable too with some great techniques. Oh, and yeah - no stickers, no stickers, no stickers, whoop!
  7. Yes, Lego is crazy expensive in Sweden, and sales are very rare. I buy most of my sets from either bricklink stores or amazon.co.uk. It's usually a lot cheaper, even when considering international shipping rates.
  8. Parisian Restaurant - CHECK Ghostbusters - CHECK Volvo Technic Front Loader SW Cantina SW AT-AT (90% sure I'll buy it) SW Death Star - CHECK (finally have space for this one)
  9. I just ordered a copy from ToyWarehouseUK. £49.99 + £12.98 shipping. I have no idea when this set will retail in Sweden and I couldn't wait. Deathstar, Parisian Café and now this on the same month's budget. I'm just about ruined. £49.99
  10. Great review. This is my favorite 2014 set. It's almost perfect. Sure, I wouldn't mind spending another €20-30 for some chrome and a ghost, but for the recommended price, it's about as good as it can get. The minifig stand and absence of stickers really adds to the exclusiveness. I love it.
  11. I bought the Death Star Troopers battle pack to complement my newly bought Death Star. I have a feeling I will love every second building the Death Star. :)
  12. I counted the studs. It's the same. Legs are taller on the new one though, and head is bigger. So proportionally, the body looks smaller.
  13. The legs are fine. They should be long and thin, just image google at-at and you'll see. You are absolutely right about the body though. Can't believe they kept the exact proportions from 8129 when it was the worst thing about that set.
  14. Has anyone made a list of the AT-AT inventory in a Rebrickable compatible format yet? I'm hoping I can already build the new one using parts from 8129 + some spare parts from the parts bin.
  15. I finally got around to buy the 10188 death star. Haven't had space to display it before, but it will now be the center piece of my son's room.
  16. Would love comparison pictures of the new AT-AT and the previous (8129) if anyone could get around to do that.
  17. 1. Falcon 2. Tie Interceptor 3. X-Wing 4. ISD Don't care about the other two.
  18. I'm in the same position as you and decided to wait for 42030. I think it will be a killer set.
  19. Ok, so I noticed this ad at a local online marketplace. A guy is selling Lego Technic sets for prices that seems too good to be true. He claims all sets are new in unopened boxes. Here's some price examples: 8110 - 55 eur 9398 - 55 eur 42009 - 60 eur 42000 - 30 eur You get the picture, there's about 30 sets for sale, a few matches bricklink/ebay prices but most are less than half. I email the guy and hears nothing for a few days. Then tonight, he sends me a text message telling me to call him if I'm still interested. I call him and he tells me he's doing business buying/selling Lego and that he is serious. All of the sets except one is still available. He wants me to send an email with which sets I want + my delivery address, and he'll reply with a total sum including shipping that I should transfer to his bank account. When I ask how I should know that he's not scamming me, he just replies that if I have the least doubt I should just forget about it. He will sell the sets anyway. Now, there's of course more than one warning bell ringing here, but at the same time, I really want to believe that the guy's serious. I could easily spend 500 eur on this given how great the prices are. I'm tempted to order one cheaper set to validate the deal, because it'd be worth it even if I got scammed. But then I might miss out on the really good deals. The guy's Swedish but his phone number is Estonian. The marketplace is local for my city (in Sweden) and it is indeed suspicious that he doesn't advertise on the big national marketplaces instead. But it doesn't really strike me that Lego (and Technic in perticular) would be the most profitable market for these kind of scams. The target group is quite small and the money too. But still, this just has to be too good to be true, right? By the way, the possibility of stolen goods has crossed my mind, but since most sets are already off the retail market, I does not seem likely.
  20. Thanks for all the advice. I will look into both independent and pendular,
  21. I was thinking about spring based suspension. Similar to what 8110 and 9398 use. So that is my first question. However, I also checked this suspension tutorial thread which is interesting: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=67896. I'm looking to add suspension to my modified 9395 set and I'm wondering which type of suspension would be most appropriate in this case?
  22. Are there any (newer) technic sets that includes suspension other than 8110 and 9398?
  23. I love everything about this MOC except the porn music in the video ;)
  24. Besides, who cares about 4x4? If I ever build the B model, it will have three axels! The real question is how to financially motivate the purchase of two copies of this set. There's a lot of great non-technics sets released this summer too.
