  1. Wow, that is a great find. What a neat little creation!
  2. Exactly. But I wasn't bringing this up so people could discuss how to manage your finances. I was assuming that people would know the proper usage of a credit card and see the advantages of one such as this. And to those who wonder what the advantage of such a card to TLC would be, just look at the main reasons a store would do it. Stores don't issue credit cards in hopes of making money on the interest, that is usually yielded to the credit card company, not the store. The advantage of an exclusive no interest credit card is that they get to push merchandise. When they put big sets on sale and want to clear out inventory people will be enabled to buy and pay over time, instead of being forced to come up with $400-500 all at once.
  3. No, it's really how it works. No interest, ever. You just make payments on what you buy, that's it. If you want to look into it, it's the Victoria's Secret store credit card. It doesn't charge interest. I see everyone's mentality on credit cards though. But, I never pay on a credit card either because I avoid it like the plague. But when I make big purchases on a computer or something like that I take advantage of 0% interest purchase plans and use that 6 month or 1 year period to gradually pay something off without having to pay interest. What I'm saying would be neat about a credit card like this is being able to buy off big sets for which you wouldn't normally have cash all at once. Two I can think of are the $499.99 Millennium Falcon and the new $399.99 Death Star.
  4. Thanks for posting this Nannan. I just read it before coming back over here. I'd recommend it to people as it's worth reading and learning from.
  5. Well, as I understand, my girlfriend avoids getting in a position of being unable to make the minimum payment. And on her card it is always interest free. It's a perk of the store's card and it's certainly a store girls could overdo it in, so they trust their loyal customers. Maybe LEGO could do the same.
  6. The other day I was shopping at the mall in Ontario, CA where they have a LEGO Store. After making my purchases my girlfriend had to make a quick stop at a store. She swiped the store's credit card for the purchases and I asked how the interest rate was on the card. She informed me that it has none and she simply needs to make the minimum monthly payment. This benefit is universal for the card, provided you obey the terms of service, and I thought that was pretty neat. So while it might not be likely, would you want one if TLC offered it? Say it were good for S@H, LEGO Stores, and LEGOLAND. I for one would love it and would sign up for it in a heartbeat, though I think I would be making some sort of payment on it until the day I die. Given the current U.S. credit crisis this topic might be sour grapes for some, but I thought I'd ask nonetheless.
  7. I'm glad to hear they're getting notice outside of the LEGO fan community. They really are great. I've taken time to show some of my friends who aren't AFOLs but are fans of the show and they all thought they were pretty spot on. Congratulations on the recognition!
  8. I'd like to see any TLC program for the iPhone. First thing I did when I got mine last week was search 'LEGO' in the applications section. There was a single result which was an official LEGO Batman game for the iPhone. I don't know anything about it as I did not buy it.
  9. Nicely done. Very grim and simply put. Great use of the little red snake in this MOC. The contrast of the silver knife and red parts with the predominantly black MOC make it pretty eye catching.
  10. When I was at LEGOLAND the banner said "Coming This Summer," if I recall correctly. Unfortunately I didn't have a wide enough angle to get this in the picture to prove it, but if you'd be willing to trust me that is what it said before they promptly removed it.
  11. Ugh, I totally agree. They are pretty bad. The worst ones are in the Custom Car Garage. The inclusion of the Agents villain torso was ridiculous.
  12. Unless they tend to show things at the Toy Fair that are already on sale, wouldn't the inclusion of Pirates in the lineup imply that there will be more Pirate sets later this year?
  13. Right, because it's so much more fun to have Pirates elude an army of Imperials than to have them evenly matched and win.
  14. EDIT: Removing unnecessary furtherance of argument to avoid appearance of not wanting to play nice and have fun.
  15. One thing I always hated growing up with those Star Wars toys was how undersized the ships were compared to the figures. In the films, the X-Wing was huge compared to Luke, but with the toy that difference was hard to capture. Due to the size of the minifigure I think LEGO is able to do a much better job of capturing the impressiveness of some of these fighters. What a cool topic idea. Thanks for posting this for everyone to see. Interestingly enough, I still have all my classic Star Wars ships and action figures, but I don't collect Star Wars LEGO sets, so a comparison would be impossible.
  16. Also, keep in mind we've "seen" three sets from a line of at least ten announced sets. Two of these we've seen were impulse sets. We've seen nothing.
  17. This is incredible. LEGO should be taking notes. The real Grievous figure is laughable compared to this.
  18. Not new, thanks for making me itch with excitement for nothing. :classic:
  19. Hopefully that's what we'll get from Toy Fair this year. I'm pretty excited for it.
  20. With good reason I'd say.
  21. No, I'm talking about the sets literally called Knights Battle Pack and Skeletons Battle Pack. 5 figures and accessories.
  22. Awesome. I really like the console on the left as well as the little pull cart with all the tools on it. Nice MOC.
  23. Oh. my. god. And I thought my 250 or so Fantasy Era minifigures would look impressive all together. This is incredible. The dwarfs are what blow my mind.
  24. Clever. Had I not read the tags, the reference would have eluded me. Good job on a nice little vig.
  25. Thanks for the review! This was one of my first sets upon returning from my dark ages and just yesterday I found two of these unopened under a shelf in my closet that I forgot I had purchased. Great review of a solid set.
