  1. Ah good, I've been waiting for something like this. Really cool pictures! As if I needed another reason to get this set. I can't wait until mine arrives.
  2. Great review! Thanks for giving me a look at this set. I don't buy many Star Wars sets, but I definitely pick up 2-3 of each of the battle packs, just to stock up on minifigures.
  3. I clicked this forum expecting a Douglas Adams minifgure. Hahahah.
  4. What would a relatively low price be? I usually see them with the box for about $150 USD.
  5. This is pretty awesome. I agree with Dr. X though, I like the multi-colored aspect.
  6. Nice city! Off to a strong start. You should try to get the new buildings (Green Grocer, Market Square, and Cafe Corner) and start a downtown area.
  7. Hahah, great and humorous review. I intend on picking this set up soon, especially for more of those treads. Nice to see where you avatar comes from now. Hilarious.
  8. Looks better than the one in the set and is more befitting of the LEGO scale.
  9. Heh, I totally agree. The MOC is great, but I'm not inclined to support a Disney license any time soon.
  10. I've yet to pick one of these up, but I read your review last night and really enjoyed it. Thanks for giving me a better look at this set. All in all, it seems like an interesting one. Though I can't really point out anything that makes it a must have with that $100 price tag. No doubt I'll get it, but it wasn't one like Brickbeard's Bounty where I had to immediately buy it in spite of the cost.
  11. Unless they can come up with a legal workaround that insists their products are for 16+ or 18+
  12. Wow, this is a great MOC! I really like this one, the attention to detail is great. And like someone else said, the contrast between the chaos inside the city wall and the serenity outside is great! You can almost hear the hubbub and clamor as people go about their business.
  13. Well, typically it can't be changed that quickly. This actually wasn't law, yet. It was still in a period of revision.
  14. While I understand they outsourced it, LEGO branching into other ventures makes me nervous and reminds me of a time when the company was in great danger.
  15. Hah. I'm sure that was more for cost effectiveness. Though I do laugh at a room full of kids yelling out "Bley, bley, bley!" Maybe they hated purple, too?
  16. Cool fighter. I love seeing the old themes revisited like this. Great job.
  17. This certainly isn't the first time the fantasy element has been debated in regards to Pirates. While I do think it would be cool, I wonder if it is entirely necessary. I mean, I already have two ships from the Castle line as is (trolls and skellies). I would be most enthusiastic about the idea if the "Ghost Pirates" were a new type of minifigure, as opposed to another ship with a whole crew of skellies.
  18. I wasn't complaining by saying that I dislike the US dictating the market. If anything, I'm probably a veritable LEGO AFOL Yes Man. Just about everything they put out I buy with a smile on my face.
  19. I totally agree, and as a U.S. citizen I think that sucks. I personally prefer the less violent themes.
  20. Actually, I think the frustration is that it was explicitly stated that bad guy is NOT Squidman. The bad guy in the poster is not Squidman.
  21. Well, good news after all. They realized how absurd it would be to make everyone selling things secondhand to pay for testing so they have changed it so that this is not the case. So, Bricklink or secondhand LEGO sales will not be affected in the least. All of the US fans can breathe a sigh of relief. http://www.wyff4.com/money/18453746/detail.html
  22. Theme for me. For starters, I buy every set from every unlicensed theme, without question, really. City, Castle, Space, etc. The licensed ones I'm a bit more indecisive about. For instance, I don't collect Star Wars, but I do collect Indiana Jones. So really, if it's an in-house LEGO theme, I'll get it, otherwise, maybe.
  23. Especially to people who are lukewarm to Star Wars. They see that new Count Dooku set for $60, then they see a similarly priced LEGO Space line with probably double the number of elements.
  24. Wow. Thank you for this great review. This is a set I desperately wanted as a kid, so it was great to get a better look at it. Now that I dictate the terms of my collection, I might look into buying one someday.
  25. This is hilarious. Great MOC. This is hilarious. Great MOC.
