  1. That cab is amazing! Well Done!
  2. I assume that you mean the large number of people who just expect builders to go out their way and give the casual/novice builders something for nothing? It is sad that this is how the world thinks, but unfortunately that is the harsh reality. The majority of the top builders that post online pictures provide more than adequate information on how to replicate their models from their photos and do not need to even bother with instructions. When they go out of their way to create instructions, that is just a bonus and the casual/novice builders should be thrilled. I am one of those novice builders and paying a few dollars for instructions is the least that I can do to show my appreciation to the high profile builders in this world that keeps me motivated. When builders like Sheepo, Industrial Designer, Jurgen, and Blakbird(for crow's models) spend months on end developing and optimizing a new concept or model and then get bombarded with requests for instructions, why should they spend all of their free time doing instructions when they could be working on their next project? Where is the motivation in that? And you think these guys should spend 100's of hours creating instructions and then give them for free. There is also a big difference between spending months developing a model and spending a few weeks and then repeatedly boasting how you will give instructions away for free. I applaud piterx for his way of thinking and this a rather good model, but by repeatedly talking about how he will give instructions away for free seems to me like a poke at some of the top builders out there and I mean this in no offensive way as this model is far better than anything that I could ever do, but this is not quite on the same level of the top guys out there who are in fact charging a few dollars for instructions.
  3. According to who? You?
  4. I like this model, but I think you may have rushed to body of it. This always seems to happen though. Builders spend a ton of time building the chassis and then rush the exterior to get it done.
  5. Another thread on this?
  6. You can already order some EV3 stuff from Lego Education.
  7. Yeah and.....? I know what a clutch gear is. But where in either one of those posts does it specify what this clutch mechanism is being used for? It obviously cannot be used to drive a vehicle or be used under much torque.
  8. What exactly are you using it for?
  9. That really doesn't seem like it would be effective or have much use since it has very very little friction other than the bushings holding it which probably wouldn't last very long.
  10. I respect a model that looks great using moderate usage of technic parts/panels than I do one that has random parts used as filler or system blocks. Once you start using too many parts and regular system bricks(which also add weight) the model isn't recognizable as "Technic" anymore. I love seeing original ways that builders come up with using the new panels. Of course this is just my opinion.
  11. I don't really mean the chassis, I was thinking more along the lines of just a single black pin being used to support the front shock on each side. I know that this works fine on the smaller models as there is not much weight, but I don't know how well it will fare with yours since it is larger and you haven't begun to really start adding anymore weight. It was just an observation.
  12. Well if you think about it, most people learn how to build using the instruction books, or at least get ton of ideas from them.
  13. Something about that front suspension doesn't look very stable. Is there a way that you could incorporate the new style gear rack into it? those tow balls being upside down are sliding around in that older style one and do not look very sturdy.
  14. In my opinion, models that are cut, glued, and altered to achieve goals also are not respected as much by other builders. In fact, when I see parts that are custom made, I don't even bother really looking into the design, because I do not think of them as a legitimate build.
  15. Really nice car. Seems more like a "Creator" type of theme though.
  16. IMO, Lego and Gangster rap don't mix. Otherwise very nice.
  17. That is an interesting concept.
  18. There really isn't much to do with it without the motors installed, is there?
  19. Unreal. It makes you wonder how many other crooks are doing this out there.
  20. I've bought a lot of stuff from Paul's wife. She has a good bit of Technic parts and off the wall Technic parts. LINK There are also some German dealers who have huge quantities of Technic parts at pretty good prices.
  21. I am still not following you here. You mean that out of all of the parts in the 8070, 84.7 of those are exact match parts? Because his custom car has almost 2,100 parts and the 8070 only has 1,281 which is slightly more than half. According to what I am seeing there, the 8070 has 1,007 of the same exact match parts. Are you sure that you don't have another set included in there?
