  1. No point in listing it on TM for an EB'er. Save the fee's and use PM Those price looks like the lower side of reasonable, so I'm sure they'd sell. I would have been intrested in 7678, 7655 and 7660 if I was just thinking about obtaining all the cool sets I can. But Unfortunately that mind set seems to have changed a bit recently
  2. Don't suppose you've got that list set up yet, by any chance?
  3. He's 'in Aussie', and so are you guys. Someone offer to buy 10 and pay on pickup. Thats usually a pritty good way to check if he's legit. Not thats this guys even appears to be worth the time..
  4. Heya guys. Looking to place an order at Barnes and noble. If anyone would like to piggy-back on my order, flick me a PM
  5. Intresting. Can you recall any of the ones that had 50% off?
  6. Ok guys, Here's a couple of pictures to show you the 2 Ideas I'm currently working on (Only the inner circle so far). Any thoughts and Ideas would be much appreciated. (Keep in mind both are still very WIP's ) The secound is by far my favourite, I'm quite happy with how it looks. But it still needs a lot more done, obviously
  7. Yeah, I agree. I'm currenty experimenting with a few various cheese slope Ideas. They're actually quite hard to get right, But I'm happy with what seems to be coming up . I'm hoping It'll turn out great too Wow, there's some useful stuff in there Thanks for that Thanks Landshark 1. Are you talking about the window itself or the whole model? Overall, The model is 50cm (64 studs) wide x 75cm (96 studs) long x 70cm (80 Bricks) high (To the top of the tower) The Window is going to be a radius of around ~7 studs. Or somewhere close to that 2. The MOC is only an Exterior. I considered making an interior too, But it's not on the list of things to do I beleive the majority of people Use stickers/Tape on one side of the mosaic to keep it together, But feel free to correct me on that.
  8. No doubt I will. Though to be honest, I'm not actually a fan of this SSD.. Still need to get the Shuttle first. The SSD Is just another big grey thing I personally wouldn't want to pay over $500 for it, to be honest.. I guess we'll have to see how it sells over the next few months I considered bidding on Cloud City. If I did, I'd be looking to pay up to $350. But I've pritty much decided It's a set I can (quite easily) do without
  9. S@H Has different pricing all around the world. LOTF is based in Austrailia (Clarified before this post ), hence the different price. You Aussies are definately getting the short straw as far as retail at the moment.. But why not import? With your dollar, You can get them cheap as! Bricklink is your friend There's one on there at the moment for $380US. Postage surely can't be over $100. You'd be unlikely to pay over $500, surely?
  10. Wow.. thats a decent collection. A couple of things that intrest me.. But doubt I'll bite. Definately appears to be a collector selling out.. Must admit, I'm planning something somewhat similar when I get enough free time. Though It won't be anywhere near that much, Just some stuff I don't have much use for
  11. I was actually about to post about B&N yesterday, you can get some VERY good deals at the moment through them. Use the code: D4J7V3X for 30% off almost any single (Only set I've found not to work is the Biggest HP set) Lego set. Their postage prices are very reasonable too. The 2 sets I looked into getting (havent yet though) were The Sith Infiltrator for $73 or the Big PQ Pyramid for $97 (Both those prices include postage). Absolute bargians if you're wanting them. I'm personally really hoping they put the Podrace set online.. I'd pick that up very quick.. Still havent seen it cheap enough locally yet Thanks for the heads up about those clearances Though I haven't seen either of those in a while.
  12. Pritty sure they just didn't sell well enough. I ended up buying a heap of the Star Destroyers after they got to 70% off. Good parts packs, yes, But last time I checked Lego was a business
  13. Whoops.. Yeah, I noticed that I may give it a go if I can't find anything else, But I think I'll see how I go with the other idea of Cheese and 1x1's first
  14. Wow, That guy has some incredible deisgns! I may give this sort of thing a go, Thanks for the link. Looks very hard, But could come out very well indeed! I have looked at that option. A few problems came up though. It was going to be too big (completely out of scale) if I did this. The other problem which is even bigger is that That piece Doesn't actually exist in Tan, Which is really important.. None the less though, Thanks for your input and thoughts! Thanks for the link Brickdoctor
  15. Hi guys. As some of you may have heard, I'm currently working on a MOC of the Christchurch Cathedral. It's been severely damaged by the Earthquakes here - so this MOC means a heck of a lot to me in sentimental value, And I'm sure I won't be the only one. I've been working on it for around 4 months now, and Its coming along very nicely, and I'm currently in the final stages before it's finished (It'll be put up Here on EB once I finish it). To say the least, I'm quite proud of it, It's the largest MOC I've ever attempted, and as I said, It means a lot to me. However, I have a huge problem: The Rose window in the front. This is it here: I do have one in place, But I'm really not happy with it. Here is the current one I have in place (Just the window, I'm not giving away the rest of the MOC yet ) In my opinion it's really letting the entire MOC down, and I'd really like to re-design it. And I'm after your help. I've been looking at various MOCs on the internet for months for inspiration, But Nothing has had concepts I can find a way to use. (Theres very few well done rose windows out there that I could find) Any thoughts or Ideas would be VERY helpful. Thanks heaps guys Sam (AKA Legoman)
  16. Whoops Terrible maths there That would be right. Though there no duty on toys, thankfully
  17. I've looked into customs quite a bit. It should only come into effect when GST will total over $60 ($500 total product+postage).. but then they'll add $37.50ish on top of GST.. So it's best to try keep it under $500NZ when importing Still not sure why I wasn't pinged for a $1600 lot a few years ago.. Just lucky I guess
  18. Intresting JP. I've seen similar sites before, But never actually used them.. Seems a lot of work. But Could be intresting if anyone's tried it? I'm aware this is very random, but I thought I'd put it out there none the less. Does anyone here like Lollies, Chupachups or flavoured milk? Or have use for them? I have a fair bit of both.. Some of you may have use for such stuff in your lines of work or whatever so I thought I'd put it out there. I've got about 200 65g Bags of Natural Confectionary Company Lollies, 200 ChupaChups, and 200 250ml Flavoured milks (Variety of Strawberry, Chocolate, and Banana). I'd consider trading for Lego, Just to keep it Lego-related Even though It's supposed to somewhat be fundraising, Lollies traded for Lego still means I'm not buying the Lego, Which means Money that would otherwise be spent on lego anyway can go towards funds Strange for EB I know. But anyway, Flick me a PM If you think you might be intrested. Can provide Pics if need be In other news, Has everyone been making the Most of the Dollar? I'm super tempted by a 10212 UCS Shuttle, But Still convinced I should be able to get it cheaper Will see how I go. If I see one under $300 I'll do it, But $340 is the best I've seen so far..
  19. 1700 in 2 years? Are 1500 of them impulse sets? I really don't see what the point is. Sure, You've prooved to yourself you can do it, well done. But I'd personally either break them all (well, exept your favorites that you'd like to display) down into parts for MOCing (saves room and actually gives them a use..) And If your not a MOCer at all, why the heck do you need 1700 sets!? Why don't you sell some? Surely nobody can display that many (WITHOUT buying the housenext door... ) That said, whats the average price of those sets? becuase it really could be anywhere from $2-$200 I think it might be safer for you to start collecting Gold - it takes up less room, and is a better investment Whatever you decicide to do, thats a decent effort
  20. G'day you ol' fella's over the ditch Hope all is well over there I'm heading to Sydney in a few weeks for a concert (The amazing Boyce Avenue) And am staying In Sydney with my Family for the weekend. Anything that any of you would suggest checking out if I get the chance? I'm generally able to get fairly good prices back here in NZ, But I don't know what sort of clearances you guys get that could be worth looking at. Cheers guys
  21. Definately can be art. Nathan Sawaya is one of the more recognised Lego Artists around, I'd suggest checking him out
  22. They were only goggles printed on, not a whole face Ahh.. magnets. That'll be why I haven't noticed before
  23. Where'd you hear that? I've been collecting SWL since 1999 and don't ever recall Stormies having smilie faces? Mabye it was a US/EU difference back in the day? None the less, I'm hoping this tie won't cost too much. The last one, 7263, was RRP $50NZ over here. Although my logic is telling me they can't be compared.. Those figs probably took a bit of designing, and the ship is bigger.. And Lego is more expencive these days Oh well, I'm still really looking forward to it That idea of a new AAT would be quite nice with the new release of TPM, and I wouldn't complain if they did a half decent redesign of the Gungan sub
  24. I had always been under the impression that when you go on the Lego inside tour, you have to sign a big sheet of various things, including not telling people about anything special you see, and you had to agree not ot sell this set? Mabye they've changed that, but it may be worth checking out, you wouldn't want to annoy TLG..
  25. I don't see whats wrong with the new window piece? It seems like it's just on an odd angle in a couple of those pictures, but it'll look right when it's completely folded down?
