  1. My only ask would be for all Toys (AKA All Lego themes ) from Amazon.FR to be included. I've bought Heaps of lego from them recently, and am about to place another ~$800 order, so if you're able to set that up, that'd be fantastic
  2. Intresting. Of my 4 'Fast' orders, none were damaged at all (far better than B&N! Every 2nd set from them had sticker tears and dents over them), and the 2 Flash deliverys were the same, only faster! Most were about what you'd expect to find at a store, if not better. It does indeed seem they've put some deals up again. Endor's and MMV's, Anyone? Also ended up getting a couple those Brick boxes.. came out at about 16Euro for 650 bricks, decent
  3. Amazon.com has started to ship some sets internationally, But it's fairly random which ones they do/don't. The GE is currently listed at the US RRP of $149.99
  4. Intresting question.. I had been under the impression that it's purely based on value, and anything thats a 'toy', regardless of condition, would get hit if the value exceeds $400. But I may well be wrong
  5. Well that completely depends on what you're looking to buy, There's no formula I'm aware of to figure out the average time for best sales to show up It's generally completely random from my experience
  6. I'm not sure it's as simple an answer as your hoping... For all the years I've been buying Lego, it's my conclusion that you've just always got to have an eye out. Obviously I'm not talking about leaving the family at home on a sunday afternoon to go visit every shop that sells Lego in your state, But just keep an eye on places like this and this every now and then and you'll notice something of intrest. Obviously you can usualy garantee curtain sales at times like before/after christmas, Black friday (if you guys have that? I know us Kiwi's don't), other local festivals and such, but you also get to know when products will be clearanced based on the lifecycle of piticular themes and sets. Just give it a go, and you'll definately come across deals And then, if you're the type with lots of free time to gamble away, eBay can carry some steals from time to time(Though unfortunately that's literal too, There's been a bit of fraud on eBay with larger Lego sets recently), Or craigslist I've heard can be good too. As far as lifecycles of sets, I suggest buying right before they're discounted, But that can be a gamble for HTF or popular sets. Hope that helps!
  7. I wanted this set for a very, very long time, and Finally managed to get it a couple of weeks ago, And now that I've finished building, I must say that this is one of my favourite sets ever. I was waiting for a good price, But Now that I own it I can definately recognise why it's so hard to find a good price - It fully deserves it's huge demand from the AFOL Community, IMO. The design is simply fantastic, and simply needs to be recoginsed as such. To someone who doesn't care much for Star Wars it may not be as impressive as say, the Falcon, but I wanted one of these in UCS since 2005 when I could first afford to start thinking about the UCS line, and this set does not dissapoint! I personally found the body a bit slow to build, But one you get on to the secound book, You won't be able to stop until you've finished all 4. This beauty is going to be a true joy to display. I'm extremely tempted to build just a small* scene from Ep. VI with the Emperors arrival at the Death Star.. Honestly, I think it would add a lot to an already incredible set. To any SW fan, I have to reccomend this set *(Well, As small a thing as this would fit on, It will probably need to be 96x64 studs to look half decent, but still) I really enjoyed the lack of grebles on this. It's so sleek, exactly as it should be. It really proves how versitile the UCS line can be. If money was irrelevant, I would choose this over 10179 personally. It is such a fantastic model. And considering I got mine 30% off It only sweetens the deal. I would recommend this set to any collector if they can possibly afford it, it does not dissapoint! I just had to add my thoughts now that I finally got one
  8. Just finished sorting my 10 cups of PAB.. Feel free to check out the picture here Quite an average picture as it doesn't capture how much is actually there, but you can see whats there anyway
  9. Yeah, I'noticed that with my orders too. Seems pritty messed up, But as long as there still getting here. I just decided not to look at their 'tracking', and wait until they arrive
  10. "Is this hell?" Much to his disbelief, every last creature in the land of pink heard this profanity, and they all..
  11. As Billy left to head home for the night, He came accross..
  12. Ah, $1000. That would be good! If any one package is worth over $400NZ, we get charged GST (15%) Plus a ~$40 customs fee. I mean, Don't get me wrong, It's still a big saving on NZ RRP. Just needs consideration 4?! Haha.. Nice Indeed.. a SSD would be awesome at their prices!
  13. And I thought I was bad! I'm tempted by a Tower bridge at that price, I must admit. I should probably wait for some of the other sets to arrive first though There's far too many good deals, It's going to take a while for my brain to Settle into being able to get prices like this all the time - Mabye then I'll stop checking every Minute Day. Do you Aussies have any import taxes to consider? I know for us in NZ, If a package is worth more than $400 we get taxed, Which does sometimes get missed by luck, But its a gamble when looking at Big orders or sets like the Death star.. Is this a problem for any of you? Or I spose your government makes all it's taxes from exports rather than imports?
  14. Hey guys.. So, In case you haven't heard, Amazon.Fr is THE place to buy lego at the moment And I'll be sure to let you know when my first order arrives and condition and such So what I thought I'd do, to make the whole thing simpler, is I made a quick gadget (in Excel) that tells you instantly how much it'll cost to your door. All you have to do is tell it how many sets you're buying and How much they cost. It'll then sort out everything else and convert it for you Things it does: Calculates the TAV discount (You don't pay the TAV (like our GST, or the U.S.'s VAT) when buying from France) Calculates Postage Adds on Customs charges and GST (where applicable) Tells you the total you'll pay in $NZ (this doesn't include any other credit fee's your bank may want, as they vary) Includes ability for modifications, already built-in (Such as Cost for single set rather that entire order - PM me if you'd like more info ) PM me for the file if you want it (Just took it down after finding a bug with the postage calculating) And here's a picture of how I use it: Hopefully someone might find it helpful (PS, If anyone asks, this was Algebra revision )
  15. Well today I ended up winning a couple of sets without even really thinking about it. I placed a couple of bids on some sets because they were good prices, assuming I'd get outbid at auction.. But I never did, So today I ended up winning A PoP Battle of Alamut and Quest against time for $105 down from $285. Not bad!
  16. If you'd like to make one of all Lego Sold by Amazon France I'm sure you'll get a lot of hits, not only from me. I've bought ~$500 of Lego off there in just the last few days
  17. So EB gets a commission if we buy through these links? Not exactly sure how that would work, but ah well, thats Brilliant! I'll be sure to do this when I next buy through any of these guys. They have some killer sales sometimes Edit: I've checked it out.. I don't suppose theres links that support EB that aren't limited to Star Wars Lego?
  18. It appears That PotC is starting to drop in price.. Currently an average of 30% off PotC at the Warehouse at the moment
  19. Heya guys. I know I don't follow this topic too much these days but I did have a bit of a scan and Couldn't find this. Feel free to burn me if it's been seen (I won't deeplink because it says confidential). Hoth Game: On my Flickr In case it hasn't been seen, Enjoy Looks pritty average IMO, But I spose TLG's hoping they'll sell. They might just be testing the market I spose. I really love the New TIE, But there's no way I'm paying that for it. Great design though. I would have liked a bit more of an intresting parts pack from the Endor BP but It's still good enough for me to want a few
  20. Really? I'd be keen, But do you have any Idea how much postage would be to New Zealand? They're light, but they're a bit bulky
  21. In the weekend, A contact in the states picked me up some cups (He was able to get a good discount, so he made his cut and could still give me the cups for $7 and $13.50ea before postage- not bad!). Unfortunately, Because of postage cost, I'm only being sent the Lego (not the cups), but thats alright. I got a total of 4 Small cups and 6 Large cups. I'll post pictures when it arrives
  22. I just placed my first order with Amazon.Fr. Will be intresting to see how this order goes
  23. I'm curious as to how you all seem to use Amazon France so easily.. Do you all speak fluent French or is there a good translator to use? I've been trying to use Google translate, But it's not really working for me Nevermind, It's the same layout as Amazon US/UK, I just need to get used to random words
  24. Yeah, It wasn't quite as much of a thrill as I was hoping, But Ah well. Really? Thats intresting, I very rarely see advent calendars in NZ. Thats rather strange about licencing issues? Never heard such a thing for an individual country. I personally think the train is much nicer than the ship, But I really don't need either of them The Warehouse online appears to have 20% off most (all?) Lego, And thats not bad considering they have the Imperial Flagship in stock online - down to $240 which is a good price EDIT: Hey all, Right so I'm doing a deal with a guy over in the states, who's picking me up a fair few Large cups of PaB from his local Lego Store. The unfortunate thing is, I can't quite find enough of piticular parts on the wall that I want that many of.. So if you're intrested in a cup or two (Cups are Just over 1L each) full of whatever parts, Give me a yell. They come to about $25NZ a cup. The pictures of the wall are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/67465533@N03/sets/72157627793901581/ If you're intrested in anything, Please let me know as soon as you can. Cheers guys
  25. Sounds like a very good evening indeed! Should be a good game - Much tighter match than Sunday
