  1. Pfft, it sounds like Angus. I liked the new trailer, but after Skopio rised out of the sand all it did was stomp it's feet repeatedly while Kiina turned like crazy to avoid it, but still managed to almost drive into it three times. Click is one smart bug, and I get the feeling that his jaw drop might be a running gag.
  2. I think the paper clip has something to do with attachments to posts in this topic. Storyline-wise, it makes sense to get a couple of Baranus sets and F&S sets for your Skrall to ride as well doesn't it?
  3. It seems a bit strange that they would send your order until you've paid for it, but if you don't think you've paid for it, you should definitely contact the seller about it. If it's an error on their part for sending it, I'm sure they would be able to give you the money for postage of the pieces back, or they might decided to let you keep the parts for free. It sounds more likely that your dad has payed for the orders without you knowing though.
  4. That problem could easily be fixed by having one more member to order, giving you a 2200DKK max and 200DKK leeway. I like the idea of this program, but the way it's set up seems to me like LEGO is taking a lot of precautions to ensure that they still make money on it. It's like how LEGO often gives large amounts of pieces for specific show purposes, only in this version people get to choose and keep the parts that they need, hence the price seeing as there's no absolute guarantee that people will use the parts for a show. Seeing as the idea of this program is to improve the public LEGO displays and promotion of the LEGO brand made by LUGs, I personally think it would have been better if LEGO had developed a reward system, where they give points to LUGs when they put on LEGO displays, based on the number of visitors viewing the displays, and the size/amount/quality of the displays. The points can then be used for buying bulk amounts of less common bricks. This method also prevents loss of money on LEGO's part, and it ensures that the parts bought are used to make future displays as good as possible, because it gets the LUGs even more free parts.
  5. Just a guess from looking at the most recent trades that the winner was a buyer on, but I didn't look too deep.
  6. Looks like it's going to someone as a gift, not for personal profit of the winner, which is always nice to know when someone gets a bargain. You should feel good about that Legoman.
  7. The pistons are painted, as far as I know. The only colours pistons come in are pearl light grey and orange.
  8. The complexity issue is exactly the reason that I think the story team is going to go back to the MU next year. With the BIONICLE boat, the complexity of stories and characters and mysteries had been filling up so much space that it was getting hard for new BIONICLE fans to get onto the boat, so the story team realized that they had to simplify story to allow new fans in, so they swept the MU into a cupboard and made 2009. There is now more space on the boat, which is allowing the boat to start filling up with fans that don't know a thing about the MU. However, you can't keep your problems in a cupboard forever; you have to face them eventually. While BIONICLE is benefiting from the new fresh air and fans without the MU, the story team knows that if they end BIONICLE without ever going back to solve the massive-cupboard-mess that is the MU, it'll be a major slap in the face to all those MU-loving fans who stuck around to see the MU eventually be saved from the Makuta. However, if they leave saving the MU for too long, MU-fans will start getting bored of BIONICLE with their questions unanswered, and when the story team finally does go back the MU, they will have to consider the new fans that don't know about the MU, so either the MU-return story will be so confusing all the new fans will spaz and be upset, or the story will be so simple that the MU-fans will spaz and be upset. Either way the BIONICLE boat will sink in storyline fail. So the best solution seems to be returning to the MU next year (or maybe the year after), and concluding the story with a happy ending, while enough fans still know about the MU, allowing the story to be complex enough to answer and conclude all the mysteries and stories that the MU-fans want to know. With the MU out of the way for good, the story team is free to make another fresh start like 2009, only this time they won't be pestered by incomplete stories, and there won't be completely unrelated serials like RoS. MU-fans might leave now that they're happy (which is the reason for 2008's cliff-hanger, to keep old fans), but seeing as they've seen how good the fresh-start of 2009 was, they're bound to stick around to see what BIONICLE does next. The story team will most likely cameo MU stuff in the future, or even take characters from the MU to become part of the completely fresh and new BIONICLE saga now that their story is finished in the MU. New fans can get onto the story easily, and old fans don't mind sticking around, and there's no unsolved mysteries to worry about. On the other hand, maybe us older fans don't actually contribute that much to BIONICLE's profit that much, and LEGO figures it would be more profitable to stay away from the MU until we get bored, and then forgetting about it completely. I doubt that though, because it's us older fans that pretty much own the BIONICLE internet. @ ShaddowCroc - As much as I would hate having a Lewa Remake that isn't actually Lewa, that very much makes sense. Although Makuta would be the biggest baddie, he's the universe, so there needs to be set-sized baddies for the goodie sets to fight. Currently there is the Rahkshi and possibly the Piraka and Skrall, as well as possibly possibly Takanuva. But for summer Tren Krom would make a good baddie.
  9. I agree with this one, because it's the best set, has the part value for money (not that any are good these days though ), and it's got awesome parts for MOCing. Titan Mata Nui has good parts, but bad price and an average build, and the Skopio is a mediocre set with mediocre parts considering it's expensive price. Considering the movie, Thornatus wins again because although the Skopio is more epic, it's not to scale, which makes it hard to replicate the feel in set form.
  10. But that probably included the extra info that most of us have disregarded as not true.
  11. Christian Zanier did an awesome job with the comic, but I'm guessing that his previous work makes it unlikely that he'll get a job illustrating the main comics. You BZP mods better watch out for people suggesting to google search him.
  12. Took a while to get photos, and apologies that they're still bad, but here's my baddie/experiment MOC called Nivitus, after white in Latin: Higher view Another front view Along with normal articulation points, there is waist articulation and two extra next articulation points. Nivitus wields a metal shuriken and a serrated sword. In the third picture you can just see the trans-red energy core inside the Pohatu arm. Also, for my Agori riding the motorbike, he can be called Estim.
  13. Probably, although it doesn't make sense, because as an artist it makes sense to do a little research about what you're drawing, and it currently wouldn't be hard to find a picture of the proper current Ignika given it's significance. And I think Turaga Dume was like that because they didn't want to show an old set in a comic promoting current sets. I love those sharks, and they make me wish that the Giant Shark set upcoming in the Atlantis them is exactly a Giant Shark with a <insert that tiresome argument> head, just so that I can make one of these sharks. @ Non-loading images, that's just your browser timing out, because they loaded (almost) fine on my computer, so just refresh your browsers. The scans would be better as jpgs though.
  14. I absolutely love those sharks and fish, and how the Cordaks actually look like torpedoes. Interesting that the less detailed Ignika was used when it clearly wasn't relevant to the comic style and current shape of the Ignika. It kind of suggests that the Ignika was actually like that in 2007.
  15. For A, there isn't any recent evidence at all to suggest that we will stay on Bara Magna next year, and quotes from Greg in the past about plans not returning to the MU may have changed. For B, the 10th anniversary idea doesn't relate to the BIONICLE storyline, so it will never be the single reason to make a certain selection of sets. The sets listed will have a good storyline reason to justify themselves. For C, Bink's just teasing us, and is neither confirming nor denying that all or some of the information is correct. Although I don't think the storyline staying on Bara Magna is something that would make us hyperventilate. About the 10th Anniversary idea though, next year will still be BIONICLE's 10th year, and the actual anniversary would be at the end of the year. Anniversaries are a single date, not an entire year, which means when LEGO decides to celebrate it could be next year or 2011, depending on which is more convenient.
  16. Also the fact that the other 2010 LEGO sets seem to be what most people would expect makes it pretty likely. True is too definite though, especially this early.
  17. It's only the initial 6 sets that I properly believe, not the whole discussion that was released later. The six sets are on Amazon, which has been notorious for releasing correct preliminary information waay too early. I'm not liking the taunting Bink. Could you at least balance the taunting with a hint?
  18. Hey, they're $25 NZD here, which is like 1.75 time USD. I pronounce Gelu as Geh-loo. Gay-loo is like Lay-wuh, which I never agreed with, because the 2001 names were based on Polynesian words, so they could at least give the credit of pronouncing them like Polynesian words.
  19. Oh man, that it so awesome that it makes me sad that LEGO hasn't used GITD as a primary colour yet. Although you want him to be underwater themed, the glow-feature and the new part design suit him well for a cave-theme, based on glow-worms. I also love the scythe piece, although the spike at the top could be substituted for a Viking horn and the actual part have a + socket, making it more MOC-friendly. I can see some awesome crafts being using that piece as mini-wings too.
  20. Thanks for the tips on cleaning, but I also meant that you don't have any scratches on the pieces, whereas a lot of my parts do. I also noticed the Titan Mata Nui box in the background. Is that a teaser for something, or just a nice background? Either way it makes the pictures look better anyway.
  21. I doubt the vehicle drivers would be finalized, even if the vehicles themselves are being used in a movie next year.
  22. Zaktan - There must be some major storyline change, possibly Mata Nui taking Glatorian to the MU. Piraka doesn't make too much sense unless there are new Piraka, but Takanuva is normal size, the Skrall will likely only be defeated and not slain in their hundreds, and with Tahu and Gresh there will probably be other key Toa and Glatorian included in larger sets and later canisters. Just a thought - if these set lists mean that the setting next year will be in the MU with key Toa being remade in Canister and Larger sets, I think we at EB may have saved some of the Toa Nuva - 'Cause they're the ones that are likely to be piloting at least some of the summer (or winter) vehicles, and thanks to Front, they may not be simple pilots that aren't up to the detail of the canister Toa Nuva. A cringing thought though, if we get a Turaga in a set (which I heavily doubt/hope not), it will have an Av/Agori build.
  23. The eye change is weird enough, because the new F&S isn't based on the movie, because in the movie the Rock Steeds have green eyes, which is more likey F&S V1. And if they changed Fero to Atakus in this set, I think that would be worth putting on the actual box art. Baranus pretty much is a very limited store exclusive for me, as are all the other big sets. I'll probably try and snag some cheap ones of Bricklink or wait till the ones that are sold in NZ come up for resale.
  24. What I did with my blurry photos is I resized it down to a very small resolution, then sized it up again, so that it lost most of the finer detail. Your method would work too though, especially if you but some random product+barcode information below it and watermark Confidential all over it.
