Nice to know that the Hagah aren't crazy anymore, but it seems a bit more like a fan-pleaser than anything with storyline significance. And I agree with Kongu Chan's Tren Krom thing. Tren Krom seems more powerful than the Makuta in terms of mental abilities and he's big-bad material himself, so he wouldn't fit into the main storyline with Makuta present as well, meaning that he's quite disposable and will probably die. Unless, he manages to send a message to Mata Nui with information on how to get back to the MU/ he manages to get some beings (such as Tahu and Takanuva) out of the MU, and then returns to his island/dies, concluding the Reign of Shadows, which explains how the 2010 story starts. The main storyline of 2010 would continue from there, and the only explanation in main storyline would be that a being sent a message from or some beings escaped the MU. All the other side-stories such as Vezon, Mazeka&Light Teridax, Dark Takanuvas, the Hagah, etc, are in the Reign of Shadows serial to simply waste (delay) time, so that Tren Krom's story finishes at the end of the year.

Thanks. (I didn't make it though.) Where did you hear that one? We're all keen to track down pictures.
-
Mind sharing more information about them then? You're the one with the "contact".
-
For the sound effects, they weren't distracting in the first movies, but a lot were in this one, with many that sounded too comical or like they were only slightly altered stock sounds (Rock steeds for one). But I guess this movie was meant to be more of a cartoon than the previous ones, so it's semi-forgivable.
-
Not necessarily, but most likely.
-
Unfortunately, it doesn't really confirm much, because the current range of set numbers are only a few numbers below Power Miner sets, so there isn't any space for a new wave with the current style of numbering.
-
Have you tried trans-neon green? That was the exact colour of the eyes before they turned red.
-
In preliminary form it might be, but it won't be in the final sets. Paper rips too easy, which is why most LEGO sets use a tough fabric at the very least for rigid capes/tents.
-
I'm getting these sets, for the figures, parts, set themselves ad even some extra BIONICLE parts. I really hope that the army men are battlepack price, which they look like they will be. Either way, I'll probably get multiples.
-
I have it too, but what I'm saying is that the Tessara theme has a different style to those songs, which I don't like.
-
And it's a dual coloured cape! That's the best use of a Midak ever, although I bet the Midak designers are crying because other designers think it makes a good toy cannon. Yellow Zamors are I don't even care if they're foam or not. Ironically, the hands look better on Toy Story sets than BIONICLE ones. And yes, SC, they're real. See here for the actual topic.

Le-Koro had no techno, and this music was more of an upbeat funk with techno sounds, not techno rock.

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Hey! It makes a difference on my BIONICLE canisters when one of them has inconsistent extra writing obscuring the pretty box art! @ Rocanator - The US and Canadian boxes have extra warnings and information to comply with some of the selling laws there, whereas the international version (that we get) has a lot less clutter. It's really interesting to compare, as I've got a double of the same set, but one as a US version, and one not. I might post pictures, but it's a BIONICLE set. -
I wish I had that kind of time. IMO, the music isn't really that amazing, as it's pretty much one theme played in different moods, aside from the Tessara theme, which is whackily out of place. I would've much preferred a Le-Koro/Jungle theme than that upbeat techno thing. The music was really awesome in the first three movies, because it was proper orchestral music with a lot of different themes, making each piece unique. I absolutely love the Rahaga rescue Toa music, but I can't say that for any of the music in TLR.

New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Brickthing replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
The only problem with that is that when you want to keep the box, it'll be a US version of the set, which has piece counts and extra warnings. It sounds a bit pedantic, but when there's the option I prefer to have sets with consistent box art for display purposes. -
Yeah, it does now, which means that no images stamped Confidential or Preliminary can be shown on the site. However, as long as the pictures are only linked to off-site and nobody is screaming objections, the staff might turn a blind eye. We're definitely still allowed to discuss them, and at the worst case where we can't link to them to show them in anyway, that's nothing a quick Brickshelf search can't fix.

I don't have problem with it, but walking in a bar (or a LUG in this case ) and saying "Hey kids!" has never been the best way to address things. You don't know Front? He's our exclusive EB LEGO employee that we love just as much as our other LEGO employee Bink! And he takes darn good photos too. Also, do you have any pictures of those concepts?
-
Point being, I'm not under 18, and a lot of other people aren't either, so unless you're naming names, posting to "us" refers to everyone reading the topic or involved in recent conversation, of which a lot of people aren't kids. Anyway, that's all really irrelevant to this conversation. Personally I like seeing leaks, as long as they're of decent quality. I'm bound to see the sets officially on the internet before seeing them in stores unless I completely hide from LEGO related web-stuffs, which I don't want to do. At least with leaks like the Glatorian, Phantoka and Inika (especially) leaks, you see prototype sets that you wouldn't otherwise, and it's neat to see what the sets could've been like, and when compared with the finals, sometimes why they were changed. Of course, I fully respect LEGO's reasons for wanting the leaks prevented, so if leaks do arise I wouldn't help spread them until after the official coverage comes, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy seeing them. As a complete alternative, if Front or another BIONICLE employee could provide behind-the-scenes/pre-production pictures after official release dates, I'm all for hammering down on the leaked images.

Yeah, I agree with that, which is why it's possible that there could be another Gresh & Skrall set next year. Seeing as the Mata Nui and Toa Mata Nui set numbers even use the same numbers, the new sets will probably be less even confusing, as their numbers are completely different.

An Amazon-style video explaining the SpM->BaM+AqM+BoM split would've been awesome. I've got and seen the movie, and I agree with most of the items said here, and the lower-par music has made me realize just how much the music of the first three movies mattered to me. I also found myself reminding myself that the movie is a CG cartoon, not a CG film like Pixar or Dreamworks films. Overall, I think the movie was less rewarding, because there were too many themes such as knowing-your-opponent's-weaknesses, unity, teamwork, trust, etc, and storyline events that should be major such as defeating the Skrall and uniting the villages only took a few minutes compared to other, less important events. Also, the villainous rock tribe and bone hunters that had been made so awesome in the first half of the year are portrayed as grunting and squealing beasts, taking back-seat to the traitor, who's identity misdeeds, intentions and identity weren't obvious until the end of the film, and even then, the misdeeds and intentions seemed weak. The end of the movie was expected, although the pose of the GS when reassembled suggests that he had crash landed onto the planet, sending robot parts everywhere, as opposed to having never been assembled. On a side note, it would've been so funny if Mata Nui had had that thought, linking it back to how he crash landed on AqM, with the only difference being that he was cushioned by water. The squeamish expression would've been priceless. The point of Mata Nui's mission seems kind of weird now, because logically he should use the Ignika to give life to the GS and fuse his spirit to it in the process, and basing future years on finding another GS jump-starter would be sadly repetitive. My guess is that the Skrall symbol represents the maze to get into the GB fortress, to find out how to start the GS, defeat Teridax via deactivating that GS, as well as learning Mata Nui's true purpose and mission. Come to think of it, a year based in the GB Maze would make for an awesome Greek Mythology themed year, especially with a Minotaur canister set. Finally, what I really want to know is what that third symbol on the coin is. I hope BIONICLE is around long enough for that to become a significant storyline symbol.

If that's the case, then Toa Mata Nui has been one gigantic slap in the face this year. One store will be like "We've got an awesome exclusive Toa Mata Nui set for only $50!", and all the other stores will say "What? We've got that set too, and only for $10!" That's not really the case though. That's what the product codes and umbrella names are for. The computer isn't going to get confused when those are different, and the different umbrella names, canister art and set design (most likely price too... ) should be enough for consumers and shop assistants to stop being confused as well.

Agreeing with the epic concept art - the piston covered back and feet of Mata Nui are awesome, and I'm really sad that they decided not to have an swampy underwater section to Karda Nui. On concept number 2, it shows that they considered having the Island of Mata Nui as a face, with Mt Ihu as the mouth. It looks a bit like a monkey head though. The third concept reminds me of a prototype model and an interview I saw about how the Toa were originally going to have really weird heads, but somebody suggested the idea of masks, which stuck. By the looks of Lewa, it's a good thing too.

Not sure where you got the Stars title and Branar from, but the rest came from Amazon. I don't see how Branar could be a star though, especially seeing as he's just a Skrall that Greg came up with for a serial, and he's established that he looks exactly like a normal Skrall, but with a whip.
-
That's disappointing. They did it with the Hydruka as well, but at least the Hydruka weren't characters as much. However, they probably chose to drop Sahmad because they were tight for space, and the bigger part of the set - the Spikit, is already featured in serials.

Well done and thanks for bringing it to us Swert, but really TLC? A giant fold-out BrickMaster poster of Mata Nui falling over?
