2009 has stronger elemental connections than previous years, because Tan is Sand, and Green is Jungle. In general, the colours were pretty close, with green being because Air was set in the jungle anyway. The orange rock of 2008 was just strange, but it was more because Brown wasn't interesting enough a colour at the time. The old purple was alright, but newer purples including the current one are the ones having the problem. That's why there aren't any purple pieces in any current sets, aside from one Indianna Jones set, but that's only got one purple piece, so consumers probably won't notice any inconsistencies. The pink helmet was more of a fushia pink than light pink, so it was fairly close to purple. I don't really think Nidoking being purple is the reason kids like it. Anyway, this is all off-topic now, so we should discuss it elsewhere (I think there is a topic about purple issues in the General LEGO forum) or via PM if you want.

I loved the bohrok canisters, because they tessellate into the hive nests as shown in pictures. It's sad that only now am I beginning to build up a decent amount of the bohrok canisters though.

They're not doing purple because there was a problem with getting the purple colour consistent between batches, and they didn't use purple enough anyway to make it worth the research costs to fix the purple colour. BIONICLE hasn't used purple much anyway, because it's hard to match to an element, and it's not the most popular colour for the target audience. The prototype pink helmet was just for fun, but it's appearance did proof that they shouldn't do a purple/pink set anyway. About the catching up problem, could Vertea update the first post, with the currently decided storyline? In a meantime GRUMBLECAKES, you should read the 2010 vote topic, because it's much more organised and it has a lot of decisions that we've made so far. @ Ecto - I'm not really a fan of making characters twisted and evil through torture/transformation, but I like the idea of twisted Glatorian matches. There could be some seriously unfair matches with 1 Glatorian vs. 3 vehicles, or where a captive Agori/Glatorian has to test a prototype vehicle.

Something along the lines of "you don't need to baby me", because it's related to him being hurt from some battle but still wanting to go with Mata Nui.

Multiple mentions of weapons in flesh, impaling, ripping out a dagger. It's not so much what's happening, but there are many less descriptive/gory ways to write it.

By the names of some of the locations, I'm going to guess that the map should've been released after the movie comes out. The Lab of the GBs in Tajun is definitely movie material, so it seems fair to assume that all the other new places are significant to the movie/up coming storyline as well. The volcano to the north is probably to do with Stronius' comic story.

Gresh is supposed to be a rookie, so a young voice is suiting. In BIONICLE, Matoran are thousands of years old, but still act and sound like kids, so I think we should've given up associating voice with age by now. The thing that bothers me is that the movie is keeping a set-like appearance, which means all the characters including Kiina are going to look like Iron Man. Hopefully the facial animation will be able to make Kiina's face match her voice, because currently I find Iron Man with Kiina's voice looking quite silly.

Thanks for clearing that up guys. Someone might need to fix Bricklink though. The Mechanic still has a normal blue cap, which is a bit of a pity. I think the purpose of new cap though is that it's one stud away from the window, and I don't think an old cap would fit pointing forwards, nor would it look nearly as good.

Don't Berix's lines that seem to be accusing the traitor seem to suggest that he's not the traitor? Also, his voice seems way to comical to be a neglected Agori/Glatorian turned dark-side.

What are the lyrics like? The instrumental sounds great though. The main theme is only in the chorus, whereas previous songs have the main theme going most of the time.

Out of interest, would any of you guys be interested in the minifigs of the Endor Playset or Hoth? I might get either of them next time there's a sale for parts, not minifigs.

It sucks for Fero, but it does mean that Atakus actually gets a proper storyline role in 2009. And he also looses his status (at least set-wise) as a single character.

We probably will see it, seeing as it's one of the main Skrall animals, and it's in a summer set. However, I doubt we'll get to see it rip a Skrall's head off or eat one, because it's a kid's movie, and any attempt at a kid-friendly way of showing it would end up looking too comical and silly. It might heavily imply it though through shadows/sound effects...

S'pose that confirms it, but I'm kinda disappointed in the creature now, because the scorpion like tail was a part that I thought was cool and justified the name Skopio. Thornatus is spiky, and Skopio was a giant scorpion.

But I thought Bone Hunters had Skrall masks.... It's hard to tell with the Skopio, I think it's a natural one, because Greg insists it, the thing did roar, and there's not much trace of a rider in that animation or the Mata Nui-running-from-skopio picture from boxes. I think it's irrelevant, because the not-to-scale Skopio is epic. Fero and Skirmix was repackaged with a summer vehicle style box art, and advertisements for the new movie. I can see why now, if people in my area see that scene, the F&S sets in stores near me will actually sell.

I know, but it's a neat possibility. If it were some kind of nightmare dome, he could only be gone for an hour, but it seem like weeks to him. It could be a side-story comic, that if Antrozesk wants to illustrate and write for fun, there's space in the story for it.

There is a Vorox that pops up in the background of the teaser, but that's only because it's going to appear 10 seconds later against Mata Nui anyway. Seeing as the movie can't introduce thousands of new things to the story, and the movie trying to meet a block-buster CGI level, for the most part the movie will probably have beautiful canyon/mountain/moon backdrops. However, I would absolutely love it if the movie introduced a BURN-E type character cameo with an accompanying animated short. Maybe if Click's best friend Clack saw Click being "kidnapped" by Mata Nui, so he embarked on a quest to save Click, resulting in many comical perspectives of significant scenes of the movie being shown in the short.

I was just looking at the inventory of this set on Bricklink, and it says that the hat that comes in the bike store is the old type of hat, however the one in my set is the newer version with the shorter rim. Is this an reasonably common instance of alternate parts, or am I just lucky?

I know that you've got quite a couple of new BIONICLE sets. If you MOC with them, are you allowed to show pictures of the MOC, or only if no unreleased parts are present?

The legs look a bit like the legs of my 3D Mata Nui that I made a while ago. It's a pity that the movie spear isn't double sided with tangling wires like the set version.

Sorry about that KimT. I figured a third of my post was on topic, and another third was related to the 2010 Story topic, but I didn't think it merited two posts. The last third was unnecessary for sure though. Given the fact that Mata Nui was stumbling around just before, anything more impressive than a few heavy swings before toppling over would be unrealistic. However, the final battle against Tuma should be epic. The armour is connected with a 1.5 pin, which doesn't have the friction lines, so it rotates freely and annoyingly.

Maybe Mata Nui is a Terminator? I got Tuma today, hopefully for reference for AC17, because I couldn't really get an idea of what Tuma's mask was like from photos. I also got my Bricklink order with 40ish Orange Mahri Blades, some black fins, a black Nokama trident and some other stuff. I'm very happy with those pieces. I also got a box full of second hand BIONICLE, which has some good parts (including a playset, which I'm really warming up to now), but the pieces are all dusty, so I need to clean them. Not so happy... I can't wait for next week's TLR trailer, and although the Vorox fight would be nice, I really hope they have some trailer clips of other parts of the movies with different characters, otherwise when the movie comes out, I'll have already seen the first scene. Also, has anyone worked out how many teasers we will get, based on when the release date of the movie is?
