  1. With the final chapters of Journey's End and the like appearing on Bionicle.com, and new Hero Factory sets starting to hit the stores, it looks like BIONICLE is finally over. The sets themselves have lasted for almost 10 years, making the theme LEGO's second longest running non-licensed theme ever, with around 270 different sets produced (More than Star Wars to date! ). What does this mean for the BIONICLE forum of Eurobricks? Hero Factory is already being discussed here, however with the end of BIONICLE this forum will be broadening it's view to encompass all Action Figure related themes, which all contain similar pieces and revolve around much-larger-than-minifig-scale pose-able models. Thus, the new LEGO Action Figures forum will include reviews, discussion and MOCs related to: Bionicle Hero Factory Slizer/Throwbots Roboriders Ben 10 (moved from Licensed) Knights Kingdom (only the large figures, moved from Historic Themes) Galidor (I don't know where this ever was, but it's here now ) Dinosaurs (moved from Other Themes) Sports Hockey Figures
  2. There will be an announcement topic soon, which should explain the change better. Basically though, the forum will include action figure sets that aren't strictly SYSTEM, which are: Bionicle Hero Factory Slizer/Throwbots Roboriders Ben 10 Knights Kingdom Galidor Dinosaurs Although a some of these themes are different to Bionicle in building style, they're dead themes so they won't be noticed much. Galidor wasn't overly present in Other Themes, so I doubt it will be here either. Ben 10 was quite different from the other Licensed themes (SYSTEM at minifig scale), so it should be much better appreciated here. To keep Ben 10 legitimate, the Licensed forum is now more for Licensed SYSTEM LEGO. Although the action figures and pplaysets of KK2 are based on the same story, their building style is quite different, to the point it could be argued that they're effectively different lines. Usually they'd stay together, but with a suitable Action Figure forum, it seemed like the bigger Knights would receive more love here than in the Historical Forum (Only Danju has ever gotten a review ). If it makes it any better, all the swords as well as the armour/helmets from later years are definately BIONICLE compatible. Jayko is a mash-up of KK2 parts I could find from my collection - he also has the wrong coloured armour and is missing most of what is not visible in the image. I'm impressed that you noticed the shield though! I'm really sorry about Natalie, but without Hero Factory sets being released yet it was quite hard for me to photograph one. Galidor isn't up there either because I don't have any Galidor sets and I didn't want to add another cutout. The banner will probably change everynow and then, hopefully to show more Hero Factory as it becomes avaliable, especially as Hero Factory and Bionicle will still be the main focuses of this forum.
  3. When I looked through the flash file of the villain creator (to look for good HF graphics), it turns out that it's called Flash-Factory. I hope that there is a chance of a more LDD-like creator for villains and heroes.
  4. Thanks for the quick answers guys. Seeing as your question has been closed, I may as well close this topic now.
  5. ...It's probably best to close this. If anyone is still keen enough to run an RPG or game based on Hero Factory, it would probably be best to talk with Dragonator in the Mafia & Wargames forum.
  6. This project stopped a long time ago, once it became clear that the actual 2010 story was going to be much different.
  7. Eurobricks member whung brings us an image of yet another new set, this time it's the rumored 7179 Bulk & Vapour! Click here to discuss this new set in the LEGO Hero Factory discussion topic.
  8. The weapons fit onto the axle hole on Hero elbows to make 'wings'. Yup, the ultimate single use parts. I can't wait to find a second use for them, although I imagine it will be very hard.
  9. Like Bfa said, it's just a pairing of two separate sets, probably because a comic/story will focus on Natalie dealing with Thunder in a mission. I imagine though that the Special Edition Bulk & Vapour set would be like these two sets put together, with Vapour being a water/steam based villain (and hopefully this version of Bulk will have 2 silver hands rather than one!).
  10. There weren't many obvious references to Mata Nui being a giant robot, but after 2008's plot twist revealed this to us, it's pretty clear that the giant robot thing was planned from the start. Before the end of 2008 a few people correctly theorized that the MU was within Mata Nui, using hints from previous years (Many locations on the island of Mata Nui translate to parts of a face). I agree that the double twist of Makuta taking over was pretty abrupt, but that was because the story was changed to simplify the giant backlog of characters/plot-points. Originally the Mahri would've been in Karda Nui bringing Mata Nui back to life, then 2009 onwards would've been about waking him up again. So 2008 shortened the storyline to save Mata Nui compared to the original idea. As Grevious said, Makuta was so more dangerous and powerful than other Makuta because he was much smarter and deceitful than they were (although all the Makuta in 2008 were quite handicapped in one way or another). As with real life, physically we are more-or-less equally powerful, but it's the smarter people that can apply their physical power much more effectively. (That's the storyline justification anyway, but the story wouldn't work that well if the Toa were up against 6 Teridaxs would it? )
  11. Despite Bionicle having a lot of potential when it doesn't need to fit sets, LEGO's main business is in making plastic toys, not stories. As for the MU, the only part that is truly destroyed is the brains below Metru Nui - the rest is only slightly damaged and in "hibernation". At the very least we would still see the MU in flashbacks/alternate universes, but it wouldn't be that hard to entirely bring the MU back.
  12. Antrozek's sand creatures come to mind, although they aren't specifically ELs or made out of Bionicle parts. I posted the story and then I think the ToRII announcement was pinned, then unpinned again, so I think it was just the board re-bumping it.
  13. For all you BIONICLE story fans out there, Graphic Novel 8 and 9 are being released soon in book stores and online. These books include compilations of the 2009 comics as well as all-new comics showing previously unseen characters such as the Baterra and Elemental Lords! The success of these books will help determine whether Graphic Novel 10 (cover above) will be released, so BIONICLE fans around the net are gathering together to help let this book exist by buying Graphic Novel 8 and 9. Eurobricks member Erebus has posted an exclusive image from Graphic Novel 8 of a villainous Baterra assassin, to show why it's worth buying these books! Find the full details and the Baterra in the LEGO Bionicle Forum now!
  14. I'd complain to them (aka, suggest that you'd go buy 20 of them at another Toy World), because I got my minifigs for $3.99, which was 20% off the $4.99 RRP.
  15. For those near Browns Bay, North Shore, the Toyworld there has the Fire Brigade ($300), all new Atlantis, PoP and Toy Story 3 sets. I was there to get myself some minifigs, and I found all the ones I was looking for.
  16. I'll just clarify that you're talking about the minifigs in the current summer theme header. Minifigs have been known to defy a lot of human limitations, so are capable of great feats of strength, speed, head rotation and stud adherence, and can survive dismemberment, customization, teething toddlers, pets and being encased in little glass cases for display. It's not surprising that this pirate can row that fast - especially since he's rowing for his life to escape!
  17. Sound like Mygrapefruit is satisfied! Enjoy your kudos Bfa!
  18. I just got an email that confirms that all Toyworlds will be having at least 20% off LEGO this weekend. I think I'll be getting a couple of minifigs!
  19. It's good to see Hero Factory creations starting to appear as the theme is just about ready to launch. Both villains have a fantastic style to them, and while the sketchy lines don't look terribly like Bionicle/HF pieces, the colouring is superb! I particularly like Blackwing, and the insignia on the chest in place of an H. Is it meant to be a logo for villains? Oh, and I split this topic from the Hero Factory 2010 one because it merits a topic for itself.
  20. It seems to be a very deep story, that challenges people to consider their relationships with their peers. What is more important, your friends or your love? To find the view that the author presents about this question, first we must know some background to this story. The sports jerseys and scarves worn by Stephanie and her boyfriend suggest a cold sports-loving country. "Go Team!" is a very western European thing to say, and the door-bell ringing with a "Dling Dlong" rules out the US - no door-bell would ring like that in the US. So in this western European country the characters are gathering at an apartment, which is on the bottom floor directly in from the lobby (plants are seen outside the door, which is marked with a the low number 7). They live in a richer part of town, shown by the leather couches, flat-screen TV and very warm heating system (the characters remove their scarves indoors), however the need for an eye-hole in the door suggests that the neighborhood has a slightly less friendly tone to it. The plot of the story is reasonably simple. The owner of the apartment is host to a gathering of his mates, the tan-suited man, the bearded man, the brown-suited man (who brought cake! ), and the man with the sports jersey. However, the sports jersey man's girlfriend (shown by matching clothes) Stephanie came as well. Unfortunately, the guys do not like Stephanie (probably for her over-enthusiasm into the sports jersey man's interests), so she is not allowed to come in. The sports jersey man is posed with the question that this story makes readers consider; "Are you still with us", or will you stay with Stephanie instead? The sight of his friends in the warm apartment, as well as cake and drinks lets the sports jersey man make his choice to spend time with his mates. However, the sports jersey man still loves his girlfriend (a second face is visible on the behind of his head, symbolizing his commitments to the two different groups), and brings her a drink to show that he cares about both his friends and her. So the story does not take a side for whether friends or love is more important, and the readers are forced to decide. What I find most interesting is the fifth panel, which shows a dog with the LDD rotate symbol over it. The dog represents loyalty and friendship, and the rotate symbol suggests uncertainty about which direction the dog should go - towards a man's friends or towards a man's love? Thank you Christian for creating this incredible and truly deep story for us to enjoy and decipher! It's made my day, as I always love a good philosophical question embedded deep within a work of art.
  21. Front has had HF sets for a while; he helped make them. It's you other people near Toys'R'Us stores that should be getting the sets around now to review them. Oh, and our favourite webmaster has tried his hand at HF Villains. Are there really that many tri-connectors in the sets?
  22. I'm not concerned about scans of the comics, but surely at least pictures of Elemental Lords and the Battera should be online by now right?
  23. Happy Birthday Siegfried! Enjoy your cake, but make sure you share it with the family. (If there's any left Dragonator will gladly take care of it)
  24. With Bionicle over, that seems to make sense.
  25. So far the only media that have hinted at or shown humans are the promotional teaser in the recent LEGO magazine, and the website, but both seem to be like that for advertising purposes. Otherwise, it seems like the Hero Factory universe is inhabited by purely robotic beings.
