  1. It seems to be a new part for this half of 2010. The fact that the Glatorian hands and heads haven't been updated makes me wonder whether those parts will be discontinued soon. The Bohrok feet on Cendox last year weren't updated because they weren't going to be used much.
  2. I've got mixed feelings over this new serial. The new villain seems like a rehash of Baterra, probably with Elemental energy draining/negating powers, which isn't the best storyline solution to balancing the power of Toa on SM in my opinion. The new team sounds exciting though, but it isn't the six Toa team we've been told about yet. I can't tell, but I suspect this serial is missing information since the end of the final comic such as evacuating the MU that people wouldn't know if they didn't follow Greg's PMs on BZP. Also, wasn't Psionics confirmed to be a female element when it was created? Greg has either forgotten that or changed it so that there is only one female Toa in this new team.
  3. Thanks for sharing this great review! I too would like to see those alternate weapon configurations. On the weapons, is all of the electric softer plastic, or does it become harder plastic where the silver is creeping onto the electric? This is one of my favourite Hero Factory pieces, and I hope we get to see it used again because of it's unused second attachment point. Too many good BIONICLE pieces have been used only once in previous sets. Also, do the silver limbs look good with the bright blue armour? I imagine Surge would be quite a lot brighter than the other Heroes (aside from Bulk).
  4. Thanks for sharing this technique! It looks alright from the photos, although the eyes on Hewkii's mask don't look like they fit the eyes on the Glatorian head. How much are the heads stretched with those pieces?
  5. You can see one just to the left of Vapour's head.
  6. If it hasn't been mentioned already, Bulk and Vapour are now on the Hero Factory website, with juicy new images: It's a pity that Stringer's weapon isn't recoloured for this set, but there are some nice pieces such as 4 Black Thornax launcher pieces, Blue Ben 10 limbs, 2 Blue Bohrok eyes and 3 Orange Mahri tubes as well as the 3 exclusive Blue recolours. The upgraded Bulk looks good, although Vapour's weapon assortment is too varied to make sense. The rest of the sets (Villains and Vehicles) are also on the website, along with instructions.
  7. They're not meant to be visible? I can see them at the edge of the screen when I look at the main page (although I guess not everybody uses screen dimensions of 1600x1200).
  8. "Rain, heavy at times" Background Hero Factory Operational Status: Lawful. Paging Issac Asimov to the lobby, you have a visitor. Reference: Issac Asimov, one of history's great Science Fiction writers Considering that Hero Factory is set in the future of the real universe with time-travel capabilities, it could be possible that these people have been taken from the past to work at Hero Factory in the HF canon. (Although it's most likely that the references are just shout-outs to the writers' inspiration.)
  9. I'd better stop copy and pasting the template...And it's no longer in my browser's history. Here's one (that does have all the details): Hero Factory Operational Status: Nominal. Paging Karel Capek to the lobby, you have a visitor. Weather - Chance of light rain Link
  10. Sorry, I forgot to check. Hopefully it will come up again soonish.
  11. When you go to the website, it's the background image, which you can check by right-clicking and selecting "View Background Image". The accompaning weather condition is in the bottom of the real-time statistics box at the bottom-right of the HF homepage. I'll periodically re-visit the site whenever I can, to find new ones. The one I've currently got is: 7: Background | Re-hosted Time: Dusk (I think) Forecast: "Cloudy and humid" Message: "Hero Factory Operational Status: Nominal + 1%. Hey, that's my Quaza - get your own." EDIT: And another: 8: Background | Re-hosted Time: Day Forecast: "Cloudy with a 50% chance of meteor storms" Message: "Hero Factory Operational Status: Nominal + 5%. Caution: Don't cross the streams!"
  12. And another You should make a topic for these.
  13. I add it, if I know who to give it to.
  14. I love the site as well, and hold Bink responsible. He said that he was really enjoying making the site, and Easter eggs like these prove it. As for the sludge, it just does... Although the obvious reason is that kids know that radioactive waste is dangerous, the worst it could probably do is wreck their paint-jobs, unless the sludge could heat up as it decays, which would damage robots through extreme heat. Alternatively, the power core of robots could quite likely be a mini nuclear reactor (especially with Heroes), where if the unstable radioactive sludge were to come in contact with the core fuel, it could cause a meltdown of the core, blowing up the robot. (This might be a bit violent... )
  15. I think the search function only returning 200 posts is something to do with the upgrade, so I'll look into that. It's a possibility, but I would have thought having Galidor on your profile would be punishment. All good quality reviews will probably be worth the tag, although the fifth Mark Surge reviewer might be out of luck. If you post it here too and it's good, of course.
  16. I believe it came from the new promo videos on the website, which have some other pretty neat CGI animations in them as well. I love the grittier textures of the CGI sets, which is a refreshing change from the better-than-the-set style of BIONICLE animations.
  17. To celebrate the new forum and the launch of Hero Factory sets (finally ), I'm proud to present 2 new tags for the Action Figure Forum! Aren't they gorgeous? *ahem*, Well, the Hero Factory tag is the more exclusive tag, which will be given to fantastic members who share their thoughts through equally fantastic reviews of the new Hero Factory sets as they become avaliable. (The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy is great for learning how to make good quality reviews. ) The Dor already has this tag for his excellent Preston Stormer review.

  19. Akiyama Makuro, from the updated HF website. I'm split over whether I like his design, and the design of other non-set characters. On one hand he looks like a great character that we wouldn't have seen otherwise, but I dislike that he can't be made out of Bionicle/HF pieces. Through all the years of Bionicle, (most) characters were MOCable, at least with the right parts if not colours. Also on the new site are a few mission descriptions, including Dragons!, which confirms that Hero Factory takes place in a futuristic reality of our own, with humans and Earth. I like that this sets HF apart from Bionicle and guarantees no cross-overs with Bionicle, however LEGO themes have never really used real people in their stories.
  20. They've been added to the list.
  21. We haven't decided on the Star Wars TECHNIC figures - I'll get back to you on that one. Construct-A-Buzz/Zurg are two sets out of the entire Toy Story line that don't match the theme (they do have minifigs though, and a fully SYSTEM building style), as opposed to KK2, which is split 50/50 between playsets and Action figures. If there were more sets in the Construct-a-Buzz style, they might have been moved, but just moving those two sets might make it more confusing. For the KK2 split, if the Historical forum starts to miss the large figures, we'll move them back.
  22. is setting his status...

  23. Hello Dragonator!

  24. I'm not sure if the prices on that site are accurate - Von Nebula is the same price as the Furno Bike. I still think it's likely that Rotor and Von Nebula will cost the same amount As for Von Nebula, the construction and posability of the set may not be as good as previous titans, but the overall effect does look very menancing and evil, especially with those new spike pieces. And a recoloured Bionicle mask is the next best thing from a new mold, so it's not much of a con in my opinion.
