That one looks much better. Perhaps a black whip would make a better hair strand?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
8BrickMario replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm desperately hoping for a September release in the US. Not only would it give us more time to collect them before Halloween, but I can't wait until October! -
This is currently one of my favorite movies, so I hope this fantastic set makes it! Can't support right now, though, but I'll try when I can. Fear seems like a big problem since he'd be better with a new mold, which is forbidden for Ideas. Who knows, they could get around it with a spinoff theme like Minecraft became.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion

Having just got Internet and seen the reveal, my final, final thoughts: Banshee- A pleasant surprise here. I like her accurate interpretation (Wailing fairy spirit, not a screaming evil ghost) and her bluish green color scheme works well. Her tail was unexpected, but it will help to confuse hasty bag-squeezers. And a GitD head? Awesome! Her hair almost ruins her for me, though, since the color really doesn't seem to work. Perhaps the review will help. The Fly- So cool! Nice to have another chance to get the Bumblebee Girl's wings, and his printing is nice. I love the claw hand (new or Davy Jones'?) and the asymmetry is great, since it makes him look like a transformation gone wrong. Werewolf Lumberjack- Wow, the tail adds so much! The bone is sort of pointless, though. Zombie Pirate Captain- Nice to see another recolor of that beard, but it makes him look less like a monster version of the S8 cap'n, which I don't like. A nice way to get a hook hand and peg leg, though. Why does he have a goblin scimitar? Tiger Girl- I guess they can rip off DC if they have the rights. Great way to get the black whip. Zombie Skateboarder-I like him, but his chin bugs me. Overall, I'm very excited about this series and I can't wait to collect them all! -

No, it's Electrolyzer's head from the Ultra Agents theme. -

Yeah, that's gotta be an error. It's clear from the design that it can't be Damian.- 8,446 replies

The highest markup is around five dollars, so it's safe to say Stiix retails for $100 elsewhere.

I found nothing today. but I'm fine with that, as I'm not interested in getting the sets just yet. -

It's one of the soldier mummies from Pharaoh's Quest, so Najib is at least unique among the Halloween mummies. I suppose LEGO's done so many mummies that it's a bit difficult to make a new unique one. Even Pharaoh Hotep and the Studios mummy looked similar (face-wise), and they were the first ones LEGO ever made. I do like the red stripes on the headdress!

I only wish he was a bit more unique: Compare the faces.

She has a new, better costume, but the one before was unsuitable for a LEGO design. For red hair, I'd try April's hair from the TMNT movie sets. Ariel's hair might work, too, but the new design has more orange hair, so some of those hairpieces could work too. -

If you're willing to make your fingers ache, the blind bags don't have to be an obstacle. My biggest frustration is the Simpsons-induced price increase. It's just ridiculous how they're almost twice the price they used to be, only because people were willing to pay more for a series with licensing fees. Perhaps we'll be lucky, and it'll drop again, but I think it's unlikely. Better start saving up if I want all 16 with extras to spare... -

Well, Slave Leia wears a full bikini, while straps only cover what would be censored on Starfire's body. I think both are skimpy, but Starfire's leaves much less to the imagination. -

The Grim Reaper was a mistranslation of Banshee. That means we still have five females, and the mysterious translucent female hair will be in this series after all. -

That's a nice photoshop, and it's good to see the Banshee in her place. I like the checklists, but I prefer the assembly guide on the back, since the parts are highlighted so well. Ever since Minifigures Online, they've become extinct. -

I like the LEGO-movie style animation that makes them look like real toys. You can see the printing imperfections!

Any long hairpiece will restrict head movement, so nothing else is going to solve the problem. It's obvious why they didn't make the comic version of Starfire, so they went all out with the TTG designs so she wouldn't be out of place. I think they all look great, minus the setup for a chance to buy a "new" Harley with hair next year, like putting boots on Batman in only one set this year. I feel like they will rerelease the minifigure with proper hair, but it's just a cheap marketing tactic that takes advantage of budget limitations. EDIT: Here's a horrendous Photoshop mock-up I made of what they should have done. -

The bolded ones have reasons for not being here. Swamp Creature-remade for Scooby-Doo Invisible Man- Covered by Invizable in Ultra Agents Ghost Pirate- LotR and PotC both did elements of this. Classic Ghost- rereleased for Scooby-Doo, difficult to redo originally. The underlined characters are arguably less specific or challenging to make into unique designs. However, I'd love a Voodoo Doll and scary scarecrow, as well as Igor and an operatic Phantom. The chances are slim. I don't expect anything drastic, and certainly not a mold rework. Gargoyle might get printed legs (Rocket Raccoon did) but I don't think his wings will be printed, Zombie Businessman will probably get his newspaper back. Hopefully, the Bigfoot and Specter minifigures will get more printing. I don't understand the event either, but I think it's safe to say that this is a soft reveal that shows a few figs that are subject to change. -

I feel like the Zombie Businessman's hair was a huge missed opportunity. If they had only reversed the design, they could have had an updated hairpiece for Two-Face...Perhaps the back is too messy all around for that to work, though. -

I think the main classic, marketable monsters are all in this series, and that's what counts. Despite the umbrella title, this is clearly a Halloween series, so everyone is going to expect a vampire, werewolf. witch, ghost, zombie, and monster somewhere in the lineup. These are new takes on the monsters kids know and love, and the others are still recognizable enough. While a Phantom (Opera) figure would be great, it would seem too AFOL-aimed, and most kids (the primary target audience, like it or not) wouldn't care about it. What LEGO is doing with the concept is cashing in on the Scooby-Doo shelf sharing. They've redone figures, and made some new characters. If you don't like the series, there's nothing forcing you to buy them and then complain about how awful they are. They're just trying to appeal to kids and hopefully make some money from adult consumers, too. If this series fails, then we'll be back to normal after a Disney derailment and LEGO won't collapse. They're taking a risk, and if it hurts them, it won't destroy them. -

But some new, non-Halloweenish monsters are included to have something for the people who don't like the regular ones. It's a tradeoff. More unique monsters, or selling to more people by pushing the boundaries? -

8BrickMario replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Context-wise, the Gargoyle and Bigfoot minifigures are the easiest to take out of a Halloween scene. The Plant Monster and Gargoyle are going to be the most versatile. So the Gargoyle's the winner in terms of usefulness. I am very tempted to make a web-filled room MOC for the Spider Lady. Most of the minifigures are indeed limiting, but there are still a few useful parts (black cat, Specter's grey robes, ZB hair, etc.). So I think LEGO has managed to pull off a themed series while still creating minifigures that might be desirable to people who don't like the concept.
