DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion
8BrickMario replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think the Batcave sounds about right for the largest set, but I don't think a $60 set with the focus on the Batwing is likely. Have I missed something? Is a Batwing confirmed, or is it just speculation?- 8,446 replies

DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion

I'd also like a new Batcave, larger, and more like the '06 version (in colors, at least.) I think LEGO have proven themselves good at making darker lairs (see the Ninja Turtles move one) for less-than-beloved movies, so I would be optimistic about a Batcave set. As long as it gives us an Alfred of any kind, I'll take it!- 8,446 replies

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
8BrickMario replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think Joy, Disgust, and Sadness could be standard minifigures, but Fear and Anger would require new molds. Joy would need new hair, but Disgust could reuse Black Widow's, and Sadness could use the Friends hair used for Olivia's mom.- 4,155 replies

Thank you! I'm glad it worked out so well! -

If we get any of the emotions, Disgust is likely, since she can reuse Black Widow's hair. Judging by that image, though, so could Sadness!- 4,155 replies

When I found my Fright Knights Witch and the body of a dragon through a garage-sale bag of pieces, I was very excited! I love witches, and to have the first one ever made by LEGO was very special. Once I gave the dragon some wings and a tail, I wanted to give the Witch (who has too many regional names) a vehicle. I deliberately made this build very simple, and I tried to use mostly pieces available when the Fright Knights theme was made. My inspiration came from the large inverted "bowl" piece used in the 6037 Witch's Windship set. I took the piece in a different direction, and saw it as the basis of a giant cauldron! I decided to chain her pet dragon to the front. The front of the carriage has an ornamental spider (the Witch's symbol) and a crystal ball. Creating the arched "handle" was a challenge, until I found the black rubber hose pipe! The interior of the carriage is slightly plush, and is lined with shelves of potions. Perhaps Willa has a delivery service, or just takes them wherever she goes. The wheels don't fit directly next to each other, so one pair had to be offset. I rather like the effect, though. There's a spooky surprise on the undercarriage! Although this is probably my most basic MOC ever, it's one of my favorites. I knew once I came up with the concept for a cauldron carriage, I had to make it, and I like the authentic look delivered by the simplicity and limited parts choices. Let me know what you think! (Just for fun, here's two generations of red-and-black mages. They go so well together!)

Yes, his head is on a pin or a stud. You can tell since it's seen at different angles in different pictures.

I don't want to sound annoying, but there's a thread for the 2016 (including BvS) discussion. -

I'm only interested in a Disney series if it focuses on the Animated Canon. That way we can get villain characters, and maybe minifig representations of the Princesses? If it's Mickey and co,, I'll pass unless there are some nice parts.- 4,155 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
8BrickMario replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
With the Disney series, I doubt it until I know which source material. Disney Animated Canon, with villains this time? Or Disney cartoons with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald? Anyhow, the CMF line is never going back to all-unthemed characters each year. -
DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion

As I said in the 2015 thread (where it technically didn't belong), I really like this set! It's such a cool, fast-looking vehicle, and if the cockpit opens on hinges, it's even better! There's a bit too much exposed studs for my liking, but I don't really mind the buggyish look, which is emphasized by the photo angle. The silver Batarang is nice even if Batman's not that unique, but I hadn't noticed the pentagon-shaped area with the Batsymbol. Is that a new piece? I hope we see the rest of the set at SDCC.- 8,446 replies

Those Atlantis lobster claws really should have been reused for the Scorpion tribe...shame they weren't. I think the idea of animal themed tribal humans was a lot more interesting, and I really liked the cobra-themed one, as well as the rats. The swamp monster looked cool, but didn't fit. It's interesting to see the evolution of the zombie-like Ice Tribes. Anthropomorphic animal heroes is far from a new or exciting concept. In the theme proper, the Phoenixes and Spinlyn were the only figures I really liked. I guess it's not a big issue now that we've seen the end of the theme, but I think it could have been so much more interesting and unique if it stuck to the earlier concepts.

DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions
8BrickMario replied to Ezekiel2517's topic in LEGO Licensed
I sort of agree. Harley's the only new villain figure, but they skimped on her accuracy (probably so they can rerealease a "new" variant with hair next year). The Batmobile seems a bit too straight, if it had more defined curves in the front or a sliding cockpit, maybe it would be worth more. However, that doesn't make the park any less visually appealing, and I think the functionality of the rides is brilliant. For completion's sake, I need the set, but for the few new minifigures and the main model(s), I want the set. -

That's not the whole set. There will be two more minifigs and a smaller vehicle. -

I think the only problem with the vehicle is that it doesn't seem like a Batmobile. If it weren't Batman's, I bet more people would like the design. With the LEGO model, however, my only problem is that there are too many exposed studs, which really detracts from the sleek look they're attempting. -

I hope the cabin opens on a hinge, since of all vehicles, I most dislike the "remove roof access" for Batmobiles. Since it's two halves, perhaps it splits open and swings outwards? It doesn't look like it, though. Regardless, it's a really cool vehicle. Its shape and size really embody "speed" to me. I'm unsurprised by the lack of gold/yellow (gritty Batman is gritty-no brightness). Is that window supposed to be translucent brown? -

WOW, that's cool! I love the angles. What two other figures? Superman and Aquaman? ALFRED? That new windscreen looks great, although I don't see where these reported "opening doors" are. New Batman is nothing too interesting costume-wise, but that's not surprising. The new Batarang color, however, is fantastic! I don't normally collect DC sets based on the movies, but I might have to make an exception here. -
You're ovethinking this. It's probably just an exclusive "first look" at the set, since that's something we know is upcoming news. As for ending the theme, I hope it happens someday. This wave redeemed the theme for me after the meh Nindroid and Anacondrai waves, but I can't see them going on for much longer. I guess I don't like the way it's been overfranchised.

Look at the Headless Horseman's face here! Doesn't it look like it would work with Batman's cowl? (I honestly don't know what use it would be, unless we wanted a fat, old Batman figure...) -

I don't think (or hope) that the Simpsons theme will go beyond 3 CMF series. As for movies, we've got Batman, Ninjago and TLM 2, so we're gonna be stuck with themed series for a while now. -
I think it means that their digestive tract is simply on Waka's half.

It was the only relatively small full-body shot I could find. I could see them using the Skreemer mold for Slimer, but I'd have to see the final product to tell if it's a good reuse or not.
-
I don't think the Skreemers look much like Slimer at all. They're too ectoplasmic and flat, whereas Slimer has a more defined shape and is more upright.
