70751 Temple of Airjitzu
8BrickMario replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That's a shame. When was the last time a 1x2 accessory tile was stickered, though? Ix2 cheeses are, but not flat tiles meant to be held by minifigures. They would be a lot better as printed parts. -

The arms were used on Hero Factory minifigures. The roof is made of garage door parts. -

One thing I'm not clear on: do the bridge, temple, and shops physically connect? It seemed like it in the video, where the whole model was moved in one piece, but it's not made clear. -
DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion

They look like Disney Princesses...I feel like this approach is seriously dumbed-down and not at all in DC spirit. I'd love to see that Harley as a minifigure, but either way, she's definitely going to use the new pigtails.- 8,446 replies

It's a miner's helmet. I'm completely blown away by this set. It's absolutely gorgeous, with some fascinating building techniques and interesting features. I will definitely have to get this. -
Looking clearly at everything, I'm blown away. The shadow theater is amazing, the architecture is beautiful, and it seems to be priced pretty well for how big and grand it is.

Since I just found out that the Hatbox ghost is back (hooray!), I decided to show off the few good things I saved from my mediocre Haunted Mansion mod. Here's Hattie himself. This figure is not purist. The cape was altered to be a bit ripped on the sides, and the spikes were removed. The torso's not much of an overcoat, but I don't know what would be better. The necktie is also colored over. I'm not happy with the loose connection of the handle to the "hatbox", but I can't think of any better ideas. Of course, with a switch of heads, the effect can be replicated. The black outfit helps to conceal the black head. He'd probably look better lit in blue, though. The Conservatory was the only other scene I thought came out well. There's a headless minifigure with white arms holding up the lid, and the Raven and a candlestick are on top. The ripped tablecloth was my idea. So that's it! I'd like to make more characters from the ride, and I think a Singing Bust will be possible with the screaming ghost head in CMF S14. Constance hasn't worked out yet, since there aren't any white female heads with smirks. Madame Leota would work if there was a black version of the Hobbit hair (I could put the head into these.) Overall, I'm just showing these because I love the ride! I'd love some ideas, though.

Amazing!

I'm looking forward to Yang's statue, since I love statue minifigs. And Misako's hair will be great. SO many minifigs, and it's great to see some new show characters. I wish there was a picture, though!

I've definitely gone overboard before, to the point where I replied to every post and made comments of my own each time. After a warning (and initial offense at the true accusations) I scaled back, and I try to hold back posts whenever they wouldn't be valuable. I still post a great deal, but I hope I'm a little better than I was in my early days here, when my excitement about being in this community equated to sharing everything on my mind.

The only problem with Monster Fighters is that 9465 sold out before I even knew about it, and it never went back on sale. But I agree, it was a good theme and seemed pretty popular. Personally, I would be overjoyed to see City, SW, and Ninjago lose some of their influence to give smaller themes a better chance, but those themes are meant to be small, no matter how well they do. There wasn't really that much leftover source material to justify a second wave, either. I'm optimistic about Scooby-Doo. Adults will like them for the nostalgia, and kids will be interested since it's still relevant and has a history behind it. And regardless of how well it sells, I'm sure WB and LEGO have planned at least one more wave of sets.

DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion
8BrickMario replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think the printed tiara was a good move, since they can reuse the hairpiece anywhere they want to now (and thus profit from the new mold), I'd like to see what it looks like from the back, Reusing the Mountain Climber's rope in gold would be great, but she's more likely to just have a sword and shield. What skirt?- 8,446 replies

I'm guessing that the hairpiece is the same as the LEGO-ized BvS poster, but the lenticular screen removes some of the detail, The face is the same as the Dimensions version. Not at all! Notice the printed tiara on her forehead.- 8,446 replies

He meant the Pop Star's, but it's definitely a new piece. It's a bit looser, curves in on the face more, and it's higher on the head. I'm definitely going to get whatever set WW's in, since she looks fantastic!- 8,446 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion

I would like it, but it doesn't look very businesslike or particularly zombie-ish. -
Those look nice! Too bad Zeke can't be unmasked, though...

The Death Star Final Duel seems to be a good one. Also, Ewok Village, since it takes advantage of every inch of its large area. Jabba's Palace combined with the Rancor pit also creates a bit of reenactment playability.

I think this is very sad news. I love this theme, and I might not be able to complete it. Ninjago almost certainly has some precedence in kids' minds, and I think puoling UA before the ghost wave is almost merciful, since almost nobody would prefer the old UA sets to the cool new Ninjago ones. And I really liked this theme because it wasn't franchised out. Perhaps it should have been for greater longevity.

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

Carl and Russell would need new head molds for sure. I could see Violet, Elastigirl, and Linguini as minidolls. Fat or short characters like Ursula, Sadness, or Pinocchio would make more sense as minifigs, though. That's why I feel like this will be a minifigure Minifigures series. Minidolls restrict the choices of characters and the likelihood of getting unique molded pieces. I'd love an Edna Mode figure. The Egyptian Queen hair would work really well for her, too.- 4,155 replies

I've been excited since the first images! I can't wait to see how they all look. I'm crossing my fingers that the Specter/Ghost is female, and that the Gargoyle looks good. -

A Sleeping Beauty Castle set would be perfect! Especially since Disney Parks could sell it at their stores. I'm thinking that this is going to be a long-lasting subtheme of the CMFs, since once they start making characters, they'll have to make all of them. I'm just hoping for some classic villains like the Evil Queen/Witch, Ursula, Jafar, Maleficent, etc.- 4,155 replies
