Ditto. Christmas is great and I really enjoy it but, Halloween rocks my world! Combine Halloween with a decent LEGO theme and IMO, you've got a match made in heaven.

I for one am really glad they've gone this route. I had posted about this a number of years ago on the LEGO bulletin boards, wondering WHY they weren't doing something like this. Now, if they'd just listen closer and do something similar for HALLOWEEN! (yeah, I know they did those cheezy sets this year but, I'm talking full-on 'haunted house', 'graveyard', etc., etc.)

REVIEW: 7307 Flying Mummy Attack
Ogre replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I agree. I think that at least two are required...one to build 'out of the box' (maybe slightly modified) and another for parts. The bullseye decals are perfect for 'Castle', the leather jacket is perfect for a 'City' biker, the flying mummies...well, you kinda need at LEAST a squad of THOSE, right? -
Figs and accessories.

REVIEW: 7325 Cursed Cobra Statue
Ogre replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Interesting. I find no problem with the posing of the snake. The ball-sockets on mine are quite snug and seem to work very well. Now, I haven't posed the beejeebers out of the snake but, in the five poses I put it in, all stayed with no problem. Side note: 'Helena' (sheesh, had to go look that up...I was stuck on 'Jackie'. LOL) has bare hands in the instructions but, gloved hands in the set. I guess somebody decided at the last minute that she was too 'dainty' to go out into the desert without coverage. -
Ditto! LOL! It looks like a molded piece in that first pic and I thought "Great, how did I miss out on such a cool piece?!?!"

*shrug* I'm a dreamer. But, it DOES make you wonder. Why have such a specific name, if not to differentiate from another battle pack? "Pirates" didn't have such a specific name (not that it was much of a battle pack, anyway) and there was just the one. Something to hope for, anyway. *going back to crossing fingers*
-
I was wondering the same thing. Perhaps they have an issue with calling them 'undead'? LOL Why they wouldn't just leave it at "Pharaoh's Quest Battle Pack" or "...Mummy Battle Pack" is beyond me. The former makes more sense, IMO...unless they'll also be releasing an Anubis Warrior Battle Pack!!! *crossing fingers and praying like mad*

Oooooooooo, creepy! I was just thinking the same thing about those short legs! I wouldn't mind them if they did 'child size' torso and head pieces, too but, those legs with 'standard' bodies and heads just looks freakin' EERIE!

I've been looking around for a Canadian source but, all I've found was the ones on S@H and those sold out in no time. Don't know if they'll be restocked. I mentioned them to Best Buy and they said that they hadn't planned on carrying them but, they are now going to be 'looking into it'. At this time, I have no other leads.
-
Last time I looked, BOTH advent calendars were sold out on S@H. Which is kind of weird. Last year and this year were the only two years that I can recall where the City advent calendar didn't make it to the 'Boxing Day' sales. I used to buy them every year at 50% off. Last year, since I was waiting for the sale, I almost missed out on one. Thankfully, a store near me had a few left in stock.

I've been wondering the same thing! I missed out on it Friday when LEGO.com did their first day of sales and no place else around here seems to carry it (and I want if for the same reasons you do! LOL).

Didn't have it online over the weekend and when I checked this morning, all the PQ sets were MIA, as were the new Police sets.

It's 'bug-tastic'! -
"Bone chips and red mist."

Yeah, no kidding! They had all except the 'flying mummies' set...THE ONE I MOST WANTED!

Well, since each set lasts about two years 'on the shelf', I'd be happy with a four year span. Two on the shelf, gone for two, then back again.

Review: 7305 Scarab Attack

I thought it may have been but, a) I just noticed it, since I have those two figs in front of me and b) I was too lazy to go check. -
And Jabba!

Review: 7305 Scarab Attack
Ogre replied to Still Raindrop's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Not really. A regular 'impulse' set is $4.99 for us. At least this one comes with a giant bug. (anybody else notice that Jake's hair seems to be the same as the series two weightlifter?) I absolutey agree. I normally can't stand the brick-built 'creatures' but, this one is quite awesome. TOTALLY does the job, without being unnecessarily complex and totally looks the part, with lots of pose-ability. -
I totally agree! Comparing my new ewoks from the 'Endor' set to the original ewoks...the new ones kick MAJOR butt. No question. Hands down. Game over.

So, I find it rather amazing how much more I can like a set 'in person', even if I kind of DIDN'T like it in pics. Snagged 7305 and 7306 and I have to say, I REALLY LIKE both of them! Sure 7305 doesn't have much TO IT but, that scarab is quite cool! (and this coming from a guy who generally HATES the brick-built 'creatures' that have come in LEGO sets) Yeah, it costs a bit more than your typical 'impulse' set and that's just due to a giant bug, but still... I already LIKED 7306. Now, I LOVE IT! The mummies are cool enough but, those khopesh swords and scarab shields are TO...DIE...FOR! And the motorcycle? Trust me, it's even better than it looks in the pics. Heck, even that stupid little scenery bit is wicked-cool, simply as a 'parts pack'. Far better than I initially thought it was. I'm REALLY diggin' this theme. Moreso than just about any theme I can think of from recent memory. Sure, there have been tons of wicked SETS in many pre-existing themes lately but, aside from Prince of Persia, no other theme has knocked my socks off like this one and I like this one even MORE than PoP! And for the record: I TOTALLY think that 7306 is worth getting several of. The mummies for army building; the motorcycle you just NEED a few of; the mechanic's torso just SCREAMS 'town/city character' (heck, he'd look great fixing his bike outside my 'Town Plan' garage!) and like I said, the little 'staff holder' scenery piece is a great little parts pack. BRICK ON!

Maaaaaaaaaaaan! The 'Cyber Monday' deals here in Canada are WEEEEEEEEEEAK! I would have thought that "Battle of Alamut" on lego.com would have AT LEAST had a better deal than TRU. Sheesh.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 discussion
Ogre replied to legokuate's topic in Special LEGO Themes
To me, the 'gnome' sounds like it might be part of a 'fairy folk' fantasy subset, like the elf. I'd be more impressed by a LEGO Porthos. Also, I'd like to see some figs with T-SHIRTS! Almost all minifigs have long sleeves. Those that don't, are either bare-chested, or have something like a tank style shirt (aka 'wife beater').
