  1. As an aside to this topic: I notice that Amazon is advertising a "Ninjago" book from DK Publishing in their 'upcoming releases'. I presume that it's one of the 'Brickmaster' books, even though it's not listed in the book title, because it's the same price as the 'castle' and 'pirate' Brickmaster books, with the same number of pages, though it's listed as 'paperback', whereas the other two are listed as 'hardcover'. Release date is listed as July 18, 2011
  2. I would definitely like to see a return of the 'wild west' theme! I think that was killed-off WAY too soon. Sooo much more could have been done, IMO.
  3. Geez...I thought the voting for category 'A' was tough! Wow! Okay, here goes: 1 point for (2) Dan Church "Robot & Weight Lifter" 1 point for (3) Optimus "Spaceman & Pharaoh" 1 point for (9) Fugazi "Tribal Hunter & Traffic Cop" Some great entries. Makes me wish I had more votes. Congrats to whomever ends up winning. I imagine it'll be a close race.
  4. Some great entries and I wish I had more points to spread around! With that said, here are my choices: 1 point for (28) Mariko 1 point for (23) Darkblane 1 point for (17) Yatkuu
  5. I hear ya! I was kinda thinking the same thing. LOL My 'city' takes up more space but, I'm more emotionally attached to it than to my Star Wars collection, I think.
  6. After seeing the totally sweet Spartan in series two and the upcoming AWESOME sunken temple in 'Atlantis' (not to mention the sweeeeet Egyptian theme), it got me thinking about what I'd really like to see LEGO sink their teeth into: GLADIATORS! Arenas, chariots, DOZENS of different types of gladiators, citizens, senators...it could be only seriously awesome theme. Whatcha think?
  7. The more I look at this series of minifigs, the more I think it's got some great potential with regard to 'multiples'. I think it's about equal to series one in that aspect. As to the 'quality' issue everybody keeps going on about: I really noticed it with series one, especially the nurse and most specifically, her hands. The colour was off and they seemed quite thin...I even got one crushed hand in one of my packs. With the other figs, I was VERY careful putting the accessories in their hands, due to fear of them breaking. (and to throw in my 'wish list' items...gladiators! Tons of types to choose from...would make a great expansion to their 'historic' figs, IMO)
  8. As a THEME, yeah, this 'Ninjago' seems as goofy as all get-out...BUT...I don't really care about it as a 'theme'. I'm hooked on the minifigs and the sets as a goldmine of PARTS. I'm a little disappointed in the nunchucks but, at the same time I can't really complain TOO much, simply because I've been one to complain in the past about 'overly specialized LEGO elements'. So, they make the 'chucks' out of three pieces instead of one...disappointing, yes but, I'll live. (it just REALLY irks me when MB has better elements than LEGO...it makes the universe feel all 'off kilter')
  9. Even da wimmins? What iz ya, a dwarf?

    Canadian Eh?

Never heard of 'Toys R Us Express'...what's so 'express' about it? Oh, and when does it open?
  11. I'm gonna be all over these!
  12. Yeah, I think this'll be a gold mine of figs and parts. I'm looking forward to it.
  13. That's one massive bike! I'm not sure why but, I'm having a total "Surf Nazis Must Die!" moment. I'm almost positive I watched a movie like that one "kung-fu Saturday" when I was but a lad...
  14. Good point. At first, I was just thinking of it in terms of the typical 'baseball team' but, what about fans sporting their favourite players jersey? Heck, you could even have a whole crowd of them standing outside a sports shop, waiting for an autograph signing.
  15. Huh? I'm looking at the bow from the 'Forestman' and it looks the same to me as the bows that I've got sitting on my shelf from my 'classic castle' sets. How's it "new"? As soon as I saw that beard, I knew I'd have to get two, just so I could switch it out on my Santa MOC! (and yes, we need a REAL 'Santa hat') I think that would be awesome, if it was done as a 'switch-out hand' type of thing...instead of a regular minifig hand, it's a baseball mitt.
  16. From the size, I'd say it's like the shark warrior head from 'Atlantis'. As for the elf...I think that's going to be the 'Spartan' of this wave and as such, I hope the bags really are 'blind', with no identifiers at all, because I'm STILL trying to find a friggin' Spartan in all those 'picked-through' boxes out there. I'm also hoping that the elf gets a new, more 'stereotypical' bow, instead of that same element that's been around since the early 'Castle' sets.

    Canadian Eh?

BTW...according to their website...series two figs are also now available at Mastermind. Limit of 12 per order.
  19. I was wondering about that. Very cool. *edit* I say 'very cool' waaaaaaaaaaay too often.

    Canadian Eh?

Since I haven't seen any other posts about these: 1) Series 2 minifigs have hit Canadian TRU stores. 2) TRU has Kingdoms/Atlantis/Creator/PoP on sale this week for 20% off...plus, online orders over $100 still ship free, up to $25 in value.
  21. Very cool! Would love to see those available in tiger stripe/snow/urban camo patterns!
  22. Ahh, okay. I've never actually seen a close-up of the dagger before (and I don't have that set yet). Thanks!
  23. One thing that dawned on me that I keep forgetting to mention: is the Spartan's spear the first-ever 'two colour' moulded weapon from LEGO? I'm trying hard to think of other items that have been moulded in more than one colour and I just keep coming up with accessories from these figures...the clown's horn, the singer's microphone, etc. Am I forgetting something?
  24. That would be sweet.
  25. Great MOC. I especially like the 'cave painting' signature duck.
